    .22 LR

Just get a CZ452 / BRNO Bolt Action with a SAK silencer and you will have a great bunny tool if .22LR is what you want. ATB Matt
  2. I have a Daystate Huntsman FAC .22 set at 30ftlb with Bisley magnums that is in a beautiful stock and in mint condition that I am planning to sell in the coming months. Its never missed a beat but my clay shooting is taking over and so I would like to free up the cash to invest in clay shooting. If its of interest to you please PM me for details ! ATB Matt
  3. Charles, I had been admiring that gun at the ground for a few weeks. When i was offered a few clays with it i was really pleased and when i picked the gun up i was real impressed, it shoulderd nice and felt nicely balenced, the stock was great with a lovely grip that fitted my hand great. I dropped the cartridges in closed the gun and thought how great it all felt and the icing on the cake would be two nice breaks.......and i would then lust for one of my own. As i say...thats when the magic, charm and great feeling dissaperaed. As soon as pulled the trigger, I was gutted and sad, the very last thing i expected. Regards Matt
  4. The two most expensive guns I have shot have been possibly the most horrible to shoot, A Blaser F3 something and a Kemen Silver bling thing. The worst of the two was the Blaser, felt nice handling it but shooting it felt horrid , it had a custom pistol grip that was nice and Muller chokes. I expected great things when I shot the F3 but I shot terrible and was happy to have my B525 and Teagues back, the felt recoil in the F3 was like shooting a pogo stick am sure I perceived the barrels ripple as the shot went down the barrel which was most off putting.
  5. Great cartridge and what I use ! Good luck with the sale, good price there !
  6. Great motors, love ours and have done nearly 90k miles in it now. Very capable and a great heater for this weather !
  7. I have had a few flasks now that have turned out rubbish to avoid the price tag of a Stanley flask, but enough is enough am going to bite the bullet now and go Stanley, in fact two....One for soup etc and one for brews ! On both the shoots I bet on lad have them and swear by them. Last week a lad who`s a milker made his flask at 5am and was poring piping hot brews at 3pm which is far better than any flask I have ever had. I have had Thermos, Aladin, Jack Pyke and others.... all have failed or been poor.
  8. Folks, We have a MK5 1.9 (105bhp) 56plate TDI 5 door golf. But its a bit long in the tooth now and although we love it we think we need to be thinking of changing it in the new year. We want another Golf but not sure on which engine to go for, Previously we have been doing 15k miles but due to change in the wife's job she`s doing less miles now so circa 10-12k miles PA. Temptation is to move away from diesel and return to petrol and most trips will be 5 mile to work and 20mile to family each way. But what engine should we be looking at? We want to keep the power or increase it. We will be buying second had and circa £8/9k budget. Ive seen the 1.4TSI engine on some listings at 120bhp but they seem to be holding strong money. Any thoughts from fellow Golf owners ? ATB Matt
  9. I have a set of Cobra PMR446 and they are nearly 10 years old and have been great but one has snuffed it now. So am looking to get a second set for my beating / Shooting. Any recommendations out there? Am looking at Motorola T40`s currently(£25). I don`t want to spend a fortune but also don`t want nasty, weak tatt that wont last. ATB Matt
  10. I was gutted to find that BFG dont do tyres in standard size for my jimny in AT. So I use Maxxis AT and I have been pleased to date !
  11. I know you have purchased but I thought I would just put it out there for anyone else follwing the thread that am really pleased with my EKA No.8 !
  12. Am not in your mentioned area but I have a Daystate huntsman classic .22 FAC @ 30ftlb in a beautiful stock if its of interest ? Happy to send photos. ATB Matt
  13. Now collected, Many thanks.
  14. I wouldnt spend the money on NM now. I would go for a Evo T50 from pretty much anyone selling them !
  15. Chris my lamping buddy got himself a .20 HW100KT replacing his .177HW100KT it had 6 outings in 2-3months......... Then he sold it and got another .177 HW100KT back, running JSB Heavys at 11.6ftlb and is very happy again. He found the .20 trajectory not great and it never grouped as well as his .177`s and it didnt offer anything else in the field so he returned to .177 and is happy again. ATB Matt
  16. With close range stuff in barns etc just use a hollow nose / segmented head or flat head pellet, Accuracy is generally okay with them at closer ranges and should slow up more transferring energy into the quarry so either wont exit or wont have so much retained energy on exit ! .177 is my prefferd choice for my hunting and HFT. ATB Matt
  17. Its not a massive surprise, Not sure the point of the post. I have seen and herd of enough at my place of work from MDP & MPGS that makes me think a large amount of them I wouldn't want to see with anything other than a nurf gun. You can train someone time and time again but human error and sloppiness will creep in from time to time and just more so with some individuals.
  18. First and last thing I would do with it is get it over to Tony Wall and his team at Sandwell Field sports and get either a stage one or stage two tune done on it. I wouldn't waste the money on the drop in kits etc to only end up getting a proper tune up later. I have shot springers with the likes of both Welsh W1LLy and tinbum kits in and not rated any of them, hence the only springer I have ever bought was a Sandwell Field Sports tuned IMP (HW99s).
  19. For me the lad should have got a heavier sentence and should have been charged with manslaughter. I agree cyclists and horse riders should have insurance, my wife does and we both agree third party should be mandated. Like wise there should be something in place to allow you to identify a horse rider or cyclist. Third party insurance isn't that expensive for horse riders but I have yet to hear of insurance for cyclists (maybe it exists and maybe it doesn't ) I also feel laws and punishments should be updated for offences committed by cyclists and horse riders. But we also need to accept that the police are so thinly spread and in such demand that the chance of them policing these things to any level is highly unlikely. This is where I feel captured footage by helmet cam`s and car cams etc should be allowed to be used and submitted as evidence. I dont think you tend to get many horses in the citys but I do feel police should be carrying out road side inspections of bikes like they do motor vehicles and have campaigns where they should be looking for condition of the bike, lights, brakes, tyre condition and helmets should be mandated. I do believe that especially in London city centre cyclists are using their bikes forcefully and using them as transport method that is unpoliced and there for leaves them believing they are exempt from the law, traffic signals and common sense.
  20. Folks I am after a new pair of shooting socks and garters. I bought a cheap pair last year to go with my tweed, how ever after wearing them 5/6 times I could now put two feet into one sock, they have stretched and distorted terribly and are not comfortable. Best place for them is the bin. In boots and wellys I wear Bridgedale socks normally and they are great, but now I need replacement shooting socks and garters. What do you recommend ? I do a fair bit of walking in them and always wear wellys. ATB Matt
  21. I havent been in 4 years but went yesterday. Wished i hadnt, small and few stalls of interest also a heck of alot of travellers there. It used to be the highlight of my year but now i cant help but think it needs to be stopped as its a poor representation of what it once was.
  22. Worst air gun I ever bought was a Theoben Rapid. Everyman and his dog had been messing with it and its internals were a right mix. IMO this is the downside of rifles that are "easy to strip and take apart yourself". Personally people shouldn't mess with them, leave it to the professionals.
