  1. to PW mate. There's a friendly clay shoot at Chalgrove, Oxon that's not too far from Watlington. Take a look here >> The Lamb Clay Club << It's nearby and is well worth giving them a call and paying them a visit. I shot there for the first time recently and was made very welcome and enjoyed the shooting. Will certainly be visiting there again. I have been to the shoot at Christmas Common and it's pretty "basic." I wouldn't rush back to shoot there again and I can't really recommend it. Don't want to say much more, but try it out and you'll see what I mean. All the best. Paul.
  2. Welcome to PW Raj. There is a friendly clay shoot just south of Reading, near Grazeley called Happy Valley Clays; Happy Valley It's a well run, decent club with an ever-changing sporting clays set up. Seriously, well worth a visit. There are several reputable gunshops nearby around Oxford that sell Browning, amongst others; try taking a look at the following Adenbourne Francis Lovel Oxford Gun Co I'm in Reading too and often shoot at Happy Valley, so maybe our paths will cross All the best, Paul.
  3. Glad to hear you got it sorted and got your guns back.
  4. The Police is similar to any other profession in that there are good coppers and not so good coppers. Unfair to tarnish all with the same brush.

    Thanks Bob300W

Yes indeed! Good to see a positive thread like this, giving credit where it's due. Nice one all round!
  6. Yes, I'm in too. Same as what Maiden22 said
  7. Montrose Guns & Tackle has them listed for sale on their website, maybe worth giving them a call. Let us know how you get on. P.
  8. I've tried this stuff within our home for the past couple of years and had good results with it (bite-free summers). Click on the link: Antimos Pot of this in each room does the trick. Don't know if they do a cream or spray version for when you're out an' about though.
  9. Hahaha, I'll probably end up on a minus score! Sounds like it could be good fun though
  10. Thanks Fatcatsplat, So essentially you team up and shoot together and you're scored in teams (of 2 or 3 or whatever) rather than individual scores? and 2shots, what's this about the red ones being protected?!
  11. Can someone please clarify the basics of a "two man flurry" clay shoot? I've got a vague idea, but a clear explanation would help. I don't want to turn up expecting one thing and it turn out to be something completely different!
  12. I was waiting ages for my sgc to come through. I spoke with BASC, who offered specific advice on how to tackle the licencing office. I took their advice, followed it through & spoke to the firearms dept and my cert arrived three days later.
  13. The various sales sections on AirgunBBS.com ( - click here) might be worth a try too. Not just airguns, but firearms too.
  14. Hmm, wasn't Gordon Brown or Alistair Darling by any chance?
  15. I've heard that it's supposed to have plenty of extremely good camp sites. I went camping in France many years ago and it was very good even back then, much better than what we had here. Have a look through the search results HERE
  16. When I first got it, I began using the bore snake on it's own, but I found it got dirty quite quickly and would need a cycle through the washing machine! I now give it a once through with the rod using a plastic jag, piece of folded up kitchen roll and some Legia spray first. This gets rid of most of the heavier fouling and avoids the bore snake getting dirty too quickly. The bore snake finishes the job nicely, and I don't have to wash it so often.
  17. I've been using a bore snake with good results, but I tend to put a rod through first just to get rid of most of the gunk. Once through with a rod clears most of the fouling and then once or twice with the snake brings it up pristine. :yp:
  18. Yes, good mate. Bought a thousand of 'em last month to try out and getting on with them just fine.
  19. I was shooting at the weekend with a crowd that included several black powder enthusiasts and the noise from the powder cartridges was noticeably louder than the nitro. I've no idea how many decibels louder, but you could certainly tell the difference.
  20. Hahahaha! That made me laugh, Clarkson having it LARGE!
  21. Thanks Shaun, do you have any restriction on use of black powder cartridges?
  22. Do most clay shooting grounds have restrictions placed on them regarding the types of cartridges that can be used? Reason I ask is a mate I go clay shooting with has a 19th century 12 gauge hammer gun that he enjoys using, but following advice from three different gunsmiths, he would prefer to use black powder cartridges rather than nitro. However when he asked at the clay ground today if using black powder cartridges would be ok he was told no, not alright. Too noisy. I understand that local councils & planning departments may place certain conditions on noise/cartridges regarding any planning consent agreeing to clay shooting, but are most clay shoots likely to be subject to such restrictions? Anyone else experienced this problem? P.

    Crappy day

What a nightmare. Wife & mines joint Tesco credit card account got raided last year. Goodness knows how they managed to clone the card, but they did and the rogues went on a spending spree. Fortunately for us someone at the Tesco card centre noticed a change in the card activity pretty quickly and telephoned us to question the card usage, the account was then quickly suspended. Hats off to Tesco for picking it up so quick! Hope you get it sorted Mungler, sounds like a right mess. Goldfish have been completely and totally incompetant and you shouldn't end up suffering for their negligence.
