  1. Because a deer bullet exspand in a controlled manner and exits the body. If you hit the fence on the way you can end up with zinc in your meat. I'm right aren't I !!?
  2. What about the serial number as it would still be on his ticket as a 22-250
  3. The first 3 autos on the one did but it only slowed the fox down. Hence the running shot as a humaune dispatch. The others all never made it to the target as they where a little further away from fence
  4. was out with njc off here a few years back, out with his 223 browning. all the padocks are 100 meters sqr so makes life very easy at night, or so you would have thought. saw a fox on the next field the one night. up on the sticks, pulled the trigger and the fox was not happy on the out come so needed a second shot, followed by a third, only to watch a fox limping off. in the end it was shot at about 150 whilst on the run. not understanding what happend we went back to the first shot sight. looking along the stock fence we could see 3 wires broken. he had only hit it 3 times in a row, then got lucky on the longer shot. new we do not shoot foxes on the other side of stock fences as he has done it at least 3 other times since
  5. Yep, your right,I'm in the wrong. Went on last renewal information from my licensing department. Was told I can store but nothing else. With I liked it up then. Section 7 of the 1968 Act enables a chief officer of police to issue to a person a permit authorising them to possess a firearm or ammunition to which section 1 of the 1968 Act applies, or a shotgun, in any special case where it may not be necessary or desirable to issue a certificate. For example, a permit should in normal circumstances be issued to authorise the temporary possession by a relative or the executor of a deceased person, or the receiver of a bankrupt’s estate, of firearms or ammunition forming part of the property of the deceased person or bankrupt. A permit may not be issued to authorise the purchase or acquisition of firearms or ammunition (but see section 5(1) of the 1988 Act and chapter 15). If it does not specify possession only, it will be assumed by default that the permit allows use. A permit should be issued if a certificate holder’s firearm certificate or shotgun certificate has expired and they have made reasonable efforts to renew in good time.
  6. just think how bad she would be if it wasn't for the degree! A good friend winds his girlfriend up something rotten. Hendersons Pigeon on here. Well, one day he applied for a new job changing the batteries in the cats eye, she was a bit miffed as it meant night shifts so you could see which ones needed the batteries changing. this went on for a long time, she even told her friends that he was going for a new job. this was one of the many that he comes out with and she says its because she loves him and believes everything he says.
  7. Thanks guys. The band on the back looks like an extra piece of fabric that comes down the neck of the head by only about 1/2". IV not seen this on the traditional type flat cap. On this band there is a little gold tag, lable type thing stitched right in the middle of it.
  8. Yep, sightron S111. For the money I'm very happy with it. I don't wind it all the way up as the edges go so run is at 25x most the time.
  9. Guys. Wife is hassling me on Christmas present. I have seen a flt cap I like, it was on someone's head and I didn't get around to asking. It's a flat cap In a brown almost like wax style finish The back has a band that sits on the back of head with a gold tag. About 15mm x 5mm. No idea on what it says. Can anyone help pointing me in the right direction please

  13. you'll be luck. the ELD-m are not the same. no where near the same. i couldn't get the ELD to run in the creedmoor so switched to TMK 130gn
  14. As soon as you know let me know your details and I'll transfer funds
  15. wouldnt of mattered anyway as a S7 only allows you to hold. not to use or purchase. you couldnt have bought cartridges even with the S7.lol
  16. fister is right in that there is nothing in it between the 260 and 6.5cm however, op asked about the RPR. for the money, entry level long range rifle, is good. out the box, slap a set of rings and a scope on, job done. the factory amax and eld-m loads will shoot sub MOA so all good in that department. however, you need to think about reloading for them, as it will get rather expensive rather quick, why, because out the box, with the right scope, you can and will be shooting out past the 1000meters. its addictive, trust me ive been there lol. for reloading you either buy the expensive carp cases or make your own. i dont like the 22-250 root as the case is to short and thins it, plus you can not control the neck thickness and can end up with thin one side and thicker the other, this leads to uneven neck tension, excessive neck working and early death to the cases. much better and more consistent necks going from a larger neck, like 308, and then doing the work to make a perfect case in 6.5. yes you have to trim OAL and the neck thickness but thats no great biggie, do it once, then fire form and then touch them up again. job done. each to their own on it but i personal would rather do the extra bit of work and cut down the groups. I love the small primer as well. with a magnum small primer your making sure that you get 100% powder burn in the right part of the barrel and not out the end of the barrel and burning fresh air. i have just binned the 50 i had as they are done with 15 firings each. im waiting for more palma 308 to come in so back using the large primer cases. the PRP. out the box, at this moment in time, cant be beaten in the uk. it will change as soon as the others join the party but not for a little while.there are a few things hey are needed to be changed, the grip for one, it works but you can bolt better on, the bolt shroud Seeking came out with a metal one and now rugers new one does too. ruger also got rid of the Picatinny of the hand gaurg as it was a pain in the bum for rings and scopes. the whole rifle is very easy to personalize with many bolt on parts. i had one for a while then sold it and bought a tikka 25-06, sent it to neil mckillop and he did his work and i came back with a 6,5cm that shoots under 1/3MOA all day long. better when i can do my part. how much, about £500 more than the RPR my old PRP i painted My new tikka 6.5cm from Mckillop engineering
  17. A friend uses the hd, only gripe was its 1" tube, the scope doesn't have the MOA travel of a 30mm tube, plus, so said, light transmission at dusk on the long range rabbits. i use a vortex viper hs on my shorter range 223, has caps on the dialable turrets so if im walking with the rifle i dont knock the settings, plus the lifetime guarantee adds to my liking On the long range 6.5cm i use a sightron s111. again with turret caps. as i get up into the 28-32x the edges are washing out but in truth i use around the 25x out to 1200m have a look on optic warehouse, there is always a good deal on there if your looking new. also Richard Uttings has been doing side by side comparisons on many of the major long range scopes. atb Phil
  18. yes please if still available. pm me you PP and ill get it over to you.
  19. It's to stop the foresters Get off my land.....
  20. as the season progresses the price on game birds drop. some dealers give nothing for pheasant as the shoots just want rid of them. rabbits seem thin on the ground everywhere now so the price creeps up a little more.
  21. Could be interested once the roost shooting starts on the shoots.
  22. this is a rear climber that we use. just take the width out if you need it as a single seater another one that someone sent me a little while ago
  23. i have one in .222 barrel is just about wasted now. not sure what it is with the old CZ's but they sure like to rust. im going to have it re-barreled soon with another .222 but a 1:9 twist. should be interesting.
