  1. If she can do it with the mouth closed, just imagine what might come out if she was to give it he all.
  2. Out of order and pushing his friendship. I will not sign anyone's permission slips and I will not mentor either. Once you sign then your giving him permission to shoot your land and possibly lose you the permission as you can't stop him as he has you over a barrle for lying to an officer and they will take your ticket. I will not mentor as if anything goes wrong with them in the duration of their FAC then you have to answer to it. I'm sorry but I'm no longer prepared to take the risks after all the time, work and funds I have put into obtaining what I have. A freinds shouldn't even consider asking, not the done thing g in my book
  3. Shame you wasn't closer as I could have done it for you. It's not hard to do, just takes time in good preparation. You can order it direct from NIC industries in USA but there's a guy on eBlag that you can buy from if you want to have a go your self. Just follow the instructions.
  4. i have one of these, you can down load the app for the phone and do every thing from your phone.
  5. plus, if a guest turns up, you just need to text, email, phone or fax thier name to SACS, before a shot is fired, and they will also be covered. Its £30 as they are all over 65. you need 6 people to be a group. not a bad price at all. i have been with sacs for years so i dont know why i didnt phone them earlier.
  6. spoke to SACS and its £30 a head for the guns, beaters and employees are all covered.
  7. give you a clue. twist, why is the camera not spinning
  8. Dave, its easy. setting out is the hardest part. get your corners right. dont let the muck dry out to quickly or it will go powdery. If i was closer dave i would bring me deck chair and watch.
  9. What sort of thickness are these cheek raisers. i am in need of one so thinking about making (trying) one to sit on the tikka. where do we find kydex as well. only need about 10" squ at a guess
  10. Does this cover beaters and pickers ups, or is that more insurance again
  11. It doesn't matter which way, barrel awareness is more important. I carry left shoulder with barrel down when on my own. Held in front slightly when in company. Stalking friends all carry right shoulder with muzzle up and walk on my right side. Another with barrel underarm and barrle farward, euro style. Barrel awareness more than anything is more important
  12. They checked last week and was given a shocking price what what they told me. So they have no interest in basc but thanks anyway. I said I would ask about other companies like ngo, sacs, farmers union and such so would be good to hear from people using the other companies.
  13. It was looked into and they wanted £750. Plus they need their own insurance for other forms of shooting.
  14. Shoot insurance. what sort of costs are we all paying and who with. Basically, one area of land the the shoot go on is owned by someone else and the owners are asking that everyone is insured. basically covering their public liability insurance we guess, The shoot is a 7 gun syndicate plus the captain gets a plus one each time. only 10 days total and a beaters day. The 7 guns are all insured. the shoot captain uses his employee insurance for the beaters when their on his land but the problem is when on this other little patch that gets pushed though the beaters are not covered. all the beaters that carry guns are insured under their own insurance. no insurance then they cant shoot as it stands. the plus one is also a problem as its normally an old boy farmer who shoots jut that one day a year so doesnt have insurance. How much is insurance<they have looked into it with BASC and £750 was mentioned. this is a 20 bird day, 10 times a season shoot. shoestring budget i guess.
  15. sounds like a sales pitch for you or your mate.
  16. treat the fact that you own guns to be a normal every day thing. make a meal out of it and they will pick up on it and make a meal out of it as well. let the firearms team know you left the lad shoot air guns with you and his mother, their happy, then no problem. just left them know why you are making the call and your just dotting the eyes just incase. then there is a record of it and you have covered you butt.
  17. one is longer thn the other. try them in the chamber, if bolt goes down then its right. i engraved mine on the flat under the bolt handle.1 hour drive to shoot rabbits for a farmer. should have checked before i left home. went to put the bolt in and had a 2 hour round trip to get the right bolt and get back to the farmer. lesson learnt. out with the dremel and engraved. then i made it a lot easier and got rid of hmr hehe.
  18. Im still using the old, clear with blue writting, only use them on the roost as they are so blumming good and consistent. i was given a number of boxes of the black ones. i couldnt hit a thing with them. had the same with my go to hide cartridge. now SGC have saked off then trust bag of cr@# im happy with the eley ones as im back to hitting birds, and at stupid distances, but then i use 3/4 of tighter. as for the clear pigeon. im not using any of them black things ever again.
  19. in the trees next door, there was only one. i need at least ten to be sat there real tight so i can claim one with 3 barrels
  20. on the tree next door so couldn't get a shot. we are a fair way across from London, looks like they are spreading, this one was a youngster.
  21. Looks like their in Gloucester now.
  22. I've painted enough 😋
  23. Cerakote does not last on stocks, duracoat for stocks.
  24. Work out what it is you want to do on the lathe. then you can narrow down your search. I spent a year or so before i bought the Boxford AUD. Only down side was i did not know back then that one day i might be back into shooting and need a lather with a larger though hole. on the boxford its almost 20mm. pain in the bum when i want to screwcut a barrel. I no engineer, more of a shed dweller. I want a colchester student but no room left in shedshop. at the moment i have 3 lathes running. one, the chester, will be up for sale very soon as i dont use it, it cuts both metric and imperial, but never worked it out, plus has the over head mill, put it in last year, used the mill a few time, bought second hand to try doing a job, ended up doing it a different way so never set it up properly, i just use as a drill press. my boxford metric that will also cut imperial threads. use it most days, runs 3ph with a transwave inverter. also a 1960 derbyshire watchmakers lathe. only ever been used for making compass points. i dont use it now, its in storage at the moment. my father in law gave it me and so will keep it, been offered good money for it but ill keep it. i have looked at the chinese one but all the plastic gearing put me off, there are a few that have cast gears and they will be the ones i look for. on watching one local to me at the moment so i might just end up buying one.
