  1. All afo's and sfo's are designated a personal identifier to id them in force and at a national level-denoting their home force, collar number and shift/team-the exception being for sfo's having no collar numbers. If its a firearms operation, hard helmets prevail over soft caps-unless its surveillance led or the flying squad. Discreet arming can be maintained until the very last moment for maximum gain. atb f.
  2. there were some major changes to septics etc that came into force Ist Jan 2020-my tank no longer conforms to the old rules and has to be changed-might be worth doing a bit of research. my system was good enough in 1985 when the house was built but the exclusion of 'it complied then' is no longer valid. get some advice from a reputable drainage company. atb f.
  3. I take it the marines made it past the outer cordon, past the sea of 999 vehicles and failed to see it was an ongoing incident. Sure, if he was alone wandering down your high street but not today in Glasgow city centre. Having worked with many ex marines and other services, I have much more faith in our armed services to respond accordingly. As for one frontal pic where his arm and weapon are partially covering his vest-its a bit damming to say the officer was not wearing a police badge somewhere. I'd wager a few quid he will have been. As for casual dress-well perhaps he was on plain clothes duties, coming or going on/off duty, training staff or called in from home. either way its a job well done in my books. f.
  4. This be one of many flash points over the coming summer-the last thing the police want is a photo/video of a white cop battering a non-white person-worse still, if a serious injury occurs. There's already a fair amount of pent up tension and confrontations like this could really kick off some serious disorder-from a couple of interviews it seems the locals didn't appreciate police turning up to shut down the party. The last of the water cannons were sold off in early 90's. Baton or AEP rounds have never been fired on the mainland UK in a public order situation and probably never will. f.
  5. £1500 per hour is the figure I understand to keep it operational. Worth their weight in gold as yesterday proved. f.
  6. I've just seen some phone footage of the aftermath-I didn't seek it out but was shared by a friend. Grim-several persons laid out with at least 6 or 8 Police Officers doing CPR, de-fibbing etc-working dam hard to save lives. I can't fathom why this is not being treated as a terror related incident. I think that the Government will be reluctant to tag this as terror or race/religion inspired act in the current climate. We'll see what comes out in the wash. f.
  7. Junes' draw saw a saver with £25k invested from February 2020 win the £1M prize. nice. f.
  8. As above-5.11 Patrol ready bag-very well made. f.
  9. Had my ex-mod Golok over 20 years-still going strong. holds a fine edge when wet stoned. f.

  11. A very kind gesture-I picked it on offer at Sainbury's for £22 yesterday. the more you spend -the more you save! f.
  12. I've opened a bottle of the Laphroaig this evening-I see what they mean on the label as the 'peat reek'. little bit too much for me. Had a some Jura Journey last week and that was very nice. anyway, its open so it will have to persevered with. f.

    Chernobyl

Exactly the reason why I wont buy Russian underpants. 'cos Chernobyl fallout. I'll get my coat. f.
  14. As I understand from one of the first news report, the officers called EMS (ambulance) in the first instance as he appeared to be suffering a medical episode. The truth will come out in due course but the media is spoon feeding snippets and fanning the flames. f.
  15. All truths that have been filtered by the media- and 2 of the cops had less than 1 weeks police service. and The 'racist' arresting officer was married to a Vietnamese born lady. and Fentanyl and met-amphet found in his system. and UK Police have had training on 'positional asphyxia' and 'excited delirium' for the last 20 years following some deaths in custody-leading to improved awareness of the dangers-something which I presume the US is behind in. I have some sympathy for GF as a human and I have some sympathy for the officers involved-but I have zero sympathy for either US rioters sparking up trouble or the copy cats in the UK having a day out to cause trouble. f.
  16. If the officer had just shot the guy-we'd not even know the name of the fentanyl/met amphet induced, previously convicted armed robber. f.
  17. I was given some hand carved and painted pigeon decoys a few years ago. They basic and a bit rough. Each made £75 on Ebay. wouldn't mind finding a few more! f
  18. The area was plaqued with drug gangs linked to the street music scene. Street robberies with knives and violence was the daily norm. The average was one fatal shooting a month and several tit4tat revenge, non lethal shootings a month. I'd be surprised if it has changed much. f.
  19. Rough old place is Harlesden-used to work around there in late 90's-Glad to say I'll never return to the Borough of Brent ever again. f.
  20. we used to have a 4.0 V reg explorer at work-great truck, huge inside for gear and really comfortable. huge shame we never got a diesel version over here. f.
  21. these aren't protesters.they have resorted to being thugs and down right rioters. they've had a week to air their grievance, get the media time across the networks-now go in hard and get them dispersed. f.
  22. quite-however the overhead views via Sky appear to show white Europeans to be the majority of protesters. of course, any protester has an equal right to have their voice heard whatever their etc etc. f.
  23. apparently further demo's planned with the organisers leaflets recommending 'do not wear identifiable clothing and wear face masks'. so, people protesting about police brutality are going to end up in violent confrontations with the police-resulting in police brutality, resulting in further disorder and of course the protesters favourite, looting. same old same old. f.
  24. the space suits were two piece and they looked like their were wearing wellies. I thought space suits were pressurised? f.
  25. saw a Q7 get stuck on flat wet grass at a shoot last year.ok for tesco's car park-owner later turned up in a LR110 to save further blushes. consider- lc120 d4 I'd love to say subaru but I think they are dying species. or a 4x4 pick up? f.
