The issues are so vastly complicated and that's why the career politicians wont engage in real discussions about population growth, energy or pollution. Then along comes a load of students hardly out of nappies thinking they can solve all the world's problems by blocking the roads with a pink boat and chanting a few slogans.

Is it Damascus or is it laminate? Only the most expensive barrels were true Damascus, the rest were laminate. Lots of guns are described as having Damascus steel barrels these days aren't Damascus at all. The difference lies in the potential strength, there is nothing wrong with laminate but its more of an unknown because you don't know what it was laminated from. Anyway, black powder is lots more fun

Its one of the reasons the Americans favour pumps so much. They can be carried around with an empty chamber day to day in a truck or a boat but racked and they are loaded ready to fire in a moment should a shot present itself. Then once fired they can be put down and the dog can climb all over them safely till you rack them again. Same with lever action rifles

Cruel but true. the same has been said for these charities that go round digging wells. Providing clean water but not addressing all the other issues is not a solution.

I have resurrected this thread because I know the shop has gone but wondered if it had relocated? If it has gone completely that's very sad but not surprising. I thought the shop was doing quite well.

All the people they interview on TV as a 'spokespersons' seem to have incredibly posh accents. Do I detect a trend? All the placards seem to have been provided by Socialist Worker, do I detect another trend? Guillable rich kid student types wound up by the hard left as cannon fodder?

Get one where you have to cut the foam to fit the rifle and scope into a recess. One of my scoped rifles, the scope was always drifting and I thought it was the scope but I found the pressure from the foam in the case I was using was enough to move the scope mounts very slightly. it was only very subtle but every week the POI was a bit out and needed tweaking

Friend of mine had one similar years ago, it was a single barrel, I don't think it could have been a genuine darne so there must have been copycats. Much more basic finish and it was 16 bore. I think he bought it second hand from Elderkins (?) in Scotland mail order.

Actually it would probably be illegal on some technicality or other to shoot at glass bottles, do they count as lawful quarry? It would certainly get you thrown off any range pretty quickly. Plus any car you could buy for $500 is probably worth double or treble that in parts if you sold them on the internet. So old cars don't get dumped anymore.

The British Labour Party was started in 1900 by the newly formed Trade Union Congress to be its political voice in Parliament. Its aim was the reform (for that read overthrow) of British Society. It is still in the control of the TUC, although much less subtly, mostly financially today. Don't ever get the idea that Labour is an independent party. The origins of Labour's anti semitism today is, I believe, more to do with the number of wealthy Jews in positions of influence ie the bosses, controlling things as they see it. (the original conspiracy theory) rather than anything new. "we hate the rich - anybody who is rich - bosses are rich - a lot of bosses are Jewish" when I was involved in the Trade Unionist movement I many times encountered out and out class hatred that had nothing to do with the work place. Many delegates and reps had a real chip on their shoulders

My experience with main dealers service departments is that they employ very low skill mechanics these days and their knowledge is very thin when it comes to anything a bit out of the ordinary. Honda seem to be particularly bad. I believe they train their mechanics by sending them on a series of short courses. That is becoming the way the industry is moving now Had a similar story with a distant family member's Honda Jazz. The automatic gearbox had a pronounced judder. Honda quoted for a new gearbox which was more than the car was worth. Took it to somebody I knew, who flushed the gearbox and put in new fluid. Fixed for £300 There is an air con specialist near me who seems to be able to fix any problem with very little fuss and at a reasonable cost. Trouble is he is close to retirement age now, when he is gone all that knowledge and experience will be lost.

This was a very hard hitting Panorama, I was actually shocked by some of the detail in individual personal stories. Also the clear evidence that Corbyn and his minions were desperate to cover it all up and bury it rather than investigate literally hundreds of complaints brought to their attention. Many people made to sign gagging orders . Not really about the anti Semitism, more about the bullying and intimidation behind the scenes to keep a lid on things.

I don't think we should generalise over the use of the word Asian. That suggests that it was common to all men of Asian origin. There perpetrators were from Pakistan and the lower socio-economic strata of Pakistani society

Its not about their ethnicity in these high profile cases, they hit the headlines because of the techniques they used and the girls they targeted. The common denominator running through several of these stories appears to be that virtually all of the perpetrators were minicab drivers. That's how they came into contact with the girls. Maybe we should be looking at properly regulating the minicab trade instead. The cab company at the centre of the Rotherham case lost its licence but appealed and got its licence re-instated very quickly. But the investigation threw up a lot of other things as well that never got to court. Systematic benefit fraud, tax evasion, uninsured or not properly insured vehicles. The authorities just slammed the lid closed on all of that. They were already getting accused of conducting a witch hunt. I'm sure its all still going on, only now they are more careful about filtering out the younger girls. Basically as long as the girls are over 16 the authorities will turn a blind eye

There was a ban on reporting, he was not reporting, he was filming so that he would have something to report when the ban was lifted. All the major news agencies were there filming as well with the same intention,, to use the footage for later. They didn't get arrested but what they did get was some good footage of Tommy Robinson getting arrested and, what ever your view of him, it was a pretty heavy handed arrest

They say everybody is a racist, its part of the human condition. We are tribal and have an inbred antipathy towards members of other tribes. That however doesn't explain Corbyn's open support for terrorists who embrace the murder of innocent people as being a just and noble cause. This is the man who wants to be our Prime Minister remember

Corbyn has supported, and rubbed shoulders with organisations in the Middle East who have openly and repeatedly advocated the Genocide of the Jewish people.(and still are). And he has taken money from them! People are judged by the company they keep. He can't bluff his way out of that one now.

They were handing them out in Bournmouth outside Debenhams at the weekend, I was given one. Not a lot in it but all very sensible, not OTT or heavily biased towards their point of view..
