The landlords that remain can pick and chose their tenants so any tenant with a bit of bad history is never going to have a chance of renting anywhere. Unless they go over to 'the dark side' and rent from the slum landlords, cash in hand, no paperwork no safety checks etc. Basically we have gone back 100 years. If Corbyn gets in and carries out his pledge to make it impossible for landlords to evict (bad) tenants, no landlord is ever going to take the risk.

Yes there are literally thousands of previously rented out properties pouring onto the market at the moment as landlords try to escape the new tax rules. Its caused the market to slow down considerably and driven down prices as well. When prices are going down nobody buys because the are anticipating another drop. A lot of estate agents and letting agents won't survive the fallout because it will take years before the market picks up again

One of the reasons the Americans liked pumps was because once it was fired everybody knew it was safe until it was racked again. So you could put it down on the bottom of the boat (they like shooting from boats) while you rowed out to retrieve your duck. Let the dog sit on it, sling it in the back of the truck etc etc without everybody having palpitations. But you only had to rack it and you still had another four possible shots ready to go. You could use it for both ducks and deer. In Upstate New York you were only allowed to hunt deer with shotguns loaded with slugs. Centrefire rifles were not allowed in the woods. and they would carry the pump action with an empty chamber, something you couldn't do so easily with a semi. Pretty much they only hunted ducks and deer so an adjustable choke and a set of Williams shotgun sights and one gun is all you need.

Should crowd funding be allowed for politically motivated ends? that certainly wasn't the original concept, it was for schools to raise money for sports equipment and things like that. In the immediate aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire several crowdfunding appeals sprung up almost immediately and big amounts rolled in, one fund I believe netted over £2 million. Since then lots of questions have been asked about that money. I don't need to repeat the questions. Sufficient to say that it turns out there is no regulation on crowd funding so the person setting up the fund can more or less do what they like with the money that they get. They are not constrained by the same rules as if they were a charity or a school.

They weren't really magnet fishing, that's just the cover story for why they were loitering on the banks of a salmon river

I'm not trying to be provocative, but why should I care? Not a wind up, I will be dead and so will my sons by 2099. I'm not trying to score points but coastal erosion on the east coast will remove more land than that

just starting out reloading
Vince Green replied to MacSxS's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
My advice to you is start out loading whatever powders you can get hold of for now and worry about the rest as time progresses. Its all about gaining experience ATM. OK the powder is not as cheap but its still powder and there are lots of other dealers near you to explore. plus you are very well located for shows, and game fairs. A tub of powder goes nowhere so you aren't going to be buying just one tub at a time, then the carriage, or the drive situation, looks better when buying in bulk. Plus shot, wads etc at the same time. Nobody said reloading would be cheaper, its about a more fulfilling experience, hold that thought. Plus, living where you do its close to perfect, for heaven sake join the Wedgenock club and get some really different (but fun) shooting experiences plus you get to network with a lot of useful people. Living where you do you would be crazy not to.. -
Like Cameron's dodgy leaflet you mean? Or the predictions of the (supposedly apolitical) Governor of the bank of England

Roughly the same discussion takes place over some of the aftermarket folding stocks available for Ruger 10/22s. The big dealers wont sell them but there are lots on ebay and you can easily buy them from abroad. Just because you can buy them doesn't appear to have any bearing on the legality of fitting them

I really can't believe that these people have the front to call for the people to be given the final say on the vote of 2016! Who the **** do they think voted in 2016! Neither Liberal nor Democratic What arrogance to think they can seek to reverse the outcome of a legally held referendum. Then again, they reversed an election pledge on Student Loans so not that surprising Next they will insist we replay the FA Cup until their team wins
-
Yes and they are talking complete and utter rubbish on a scale unprecedented even for them. Lord Adonis this morning saying its a clear indication the British public want to remain
-
No he wasn't winding me up and I still believe a lot of people had not made the step up to seeing them as a serious party to vote for. Obviously a lot of people did vote for them but they had only been going ten weeks. If they had been going for a year and had a decent opportunity to get noticed I believe their share would have been over 50%,
-
I think a lot of potential voters still hadn't known about the Brexit Party, it was so new and not that well publicised. Yesterday lunchtime my brother in law said "What is this Brexit party they keep going on about? I've never heard of them" How many more like that?

We have had some experience of trying to employ the long term unemployed and they mostly just go all out to get sacked so they can get back on the dole. Now, work for wages schemes are different, all benefits are stopped and can't be restarted so they have no choice but to work. OK they have to be heavily supervised but it would be a start. On the subject of paper recycling. Old newspapers were recycled into egg boxes and tray dividers in fruit boxes but glossy magazines, brochures, catalogues etc won't recycle this way. So its the cost of sorting it again.
-
A few observations from my Borough 1) its the cost of hand sorting out the waste at the depot, and the time it takes, that is the killer. They could never do it all 2) a big company set up with a lot of public money to recycle plastic went bust a couple of years ago leaving no replacement. 3) a lot of waste is contaminated 4) To satisfy EU recycling quotas a truck only has to drive in the depot and it can be classed as recycled. Even if just gets turned away again the EU box is still ticked.
-
And then they are dumped most likely. There is no way glass can be commercially recycled. At best it gets ground up and used as aggregate in building blocks but those companies can't take all the glass by a long stretch Recycling is largely a myth, all attempts to make it cost effective have failed

UKIP has greatly damaged its own image through sheer incompetence and infighting since Nigel left. The Brexit Party is UKIP Gen2

WE won't get another dog, my old mate Ollie went a couple of years ago and it was just too much. Not just his long and drawn out final illness but the knowledge that the vet was screwing us because she knew my step daughter would never agree to having him put to sleep. If they had double the life span then maybe
-
I disagree, that's what went wrong last time. The next PM has to go in there, in person, thump the table and leave the EU in no doubt they mean business. Weak negotiating skills, and weak negotiators are what brought us to the mess we find ourselves in now.

It certainly looks that way doesn't it?

Centrefire Shooting Range/s in South Wales
Vince Green replied to steve_b_wales's topic in General Shooting Matters
There is always the club at Penrhiwpal, near Cardigan. That's a centrefire range. Its a bit of a drive but not unbearable and its a nice little club with good facilities. -
If the publicity is to be believed, polymer coated lead bullets are the next big thing. Certainly for carbines and the pistol calibres they seem to work and eliminate leading without paying FMJ bullet prices. Good things too for some rifle calibres at the lower velocities. .45-70 loves it apparently. My mate has started using them for .303, its early days yet but initial results are good I am told. Has anybody else any input? I'm wondering how fast we can go with these bullets

German steel illegally subsidised has killed off the British Steel Industry, Polish coal, illegally subsidised, killed off the British coal industry. Tell me again how this EU is worth remaining in???? I keep forgetting
