  1. I have a Daystate and have had no real problems with it-apart from several instances of jamming a pellet in the action and a silencer adaptor so badly made that the pellet was hitting the silencer (hold on-that's more problems than all my previous airguns (20+) put together)-but in this instance you should demand a full refund and compensation for the hassle-do NOT accept the gun back-put in writing to Westons that you are rejecting the gun as not fit for purpose and advise them that they have 14 days to decide what they want to do, do not contact Daystate as it has nothing to do with them-your contract is with Westons.. Ring consumer direct and get a case number and some legal advice.
  2. Provides 3 240 sockets (with resettable trips) into your tent from the campsite hook up outlet-about 10 metres of cable-used once before we bought our caravan-free to collector-pm me 4 address-MK area.
  3. "Never miss a shot, no, but its rare that I do though"-I'm guessing we can expect to see pics of all your trophies any day soon then-as if that statement were not bad enough-you then try and have us believe that you, a mere mortal, can handle 6 custard creams !! Hobnobs Sir !!
  4. Put my name on this Mick-pick up Thursday me old mucker
  5. Posted at 1:10 am dadioles because I I was off lamping-but thanks for your concern . Your reply, whilst making a valid point, missed out the word "MAY" i.e. "I MAY have missed....." I'm afraid that we all miss - and more often than we care to admit, but the important thing is that we then strive to discover why and ,once the lesson is learned, we move on ( that little better for the experience). Lets look at this another way-are you confident that using a rangefinder means that you have NEVER missed a shot. What happens when you come across a rabbit that obviously knows that you are there-its ears are pricked and its sat on its haunches about to bolt-there is no way that it will sit while you fanny around trying top put a laser on it so what do you do-not take the shot??
  6. Point taken team tractor but I still say that if you cannot judge the range then don't shoot the target-I have been fortunate enough to shoot Airguns, .22lr's and .17 for nearly 40 years and never found the need for a Rangefinder-I may have missed plenty due to bad range estimation but that's down to me and is part of the art of hunting.
  7. I'm with Whitebridges-stick with RWS and save yourself a whole load of grief-the subs and HP HV are superb if you can get them.
  8. Range finder for a gun that's only effective to 45 yards? I'm sorry but if you cannot zero for 30 yards and memorise the approx. aim points 15 yards either side then you should not be shooting-or even driving, I find it incredible what gun shops will sell to the gullible-be honest with yourself next time you visit a gunshop-what percentage of items for sale are actually essential and which are just a pry bar on your wallet-sporting shops are getting worse by the minute in a never ending attempt to sell you the latest Tat-the 2 Airgun mags are their perfect catalogue of bullplop.
  9. My first PCP was the SM100 and I can remember thinking, upon firing it, that the pellet was not leaving the barrel because the gun was so smooth and "dead" to shoot-but even if it never worked then I would have been happy to sit and gaze at it for days-the blueing on mine was sooooo deep. Mine was unregulated and provided about 60 shots in .177 before noting any drop but you could get another 10-20 if you used hold over. It was stupidly accurate and I regret ever selling her-not sure as to power levels but it was more than enough for any vermin at normal airgun ranges . I seem to remember that there is a small screw at the rear of the gun that can be used to increase pressure on the hammer spring-but you must not do this
  10. Our local club has a qualified coach who teaches my lad every time we go (twice a month)-he spends every minute with my lad while he shoots and my boy is getting low 60's after only 5 lessons. The ground charge £12.50 for 100 clays and sell discounted shells-the instructor is free of charge-sounds we have ourselves a bargain
  11. Lets do just what we English have always done-moan a lot then do nothing-nobody does nothing better than the English
  12. Mmmmmmm-a suspicious device is anything without a label on it to a keen copper.

    PCP Pump?

As robbiep says-get a 3oo bar tank and save yourself a load of bother.
  14. Contact the retailer-its their problem as the contract was between themselves and you. Don't accept any rubbish about warranty claims as the sale of goods act has much bigger teeth than any retailers legal department. The 2 year warranty is simply an add on to your statutory rights-NEVER waste your money on extended warranties-read the sale of goods act. Do not attempt to repair it yourself or let anyone else near it-your rights will be out of the window.
  15. Yep-seen that but I need maintenance details and not just a diagram
  16. Can anyone help me find an owners manual for this handy little pistol-even a scanned copy would be worth its weight in gold.
  17. I think that some companies ( and I include DS) are more wise than that,jam1e-they work out how much most people can afford for a product and then price it way above. This stops the masses buying the product and leads to an increase in desirability and pride in the exclusivity of ownership-this creates a constant demand for small batches of "new" models. Sound familiar? BTW-what is Belas doing on Airheads? apart from making himself look like a tool-Team Wild should keep that monopoly.
  18. Why buy a truck like that?-would it not be cheaper to tattoo **** to your forehead
  19. Hard to compare reliability between the brands when one out sells the other by a wide margin. As a Daystate owner I can completely remove myself from the potential "envy?" label and without trying to be brash I will admit to being financially able to buy any Air rifle that I fancy and not even ask the price. I use my guns for vermin control and whilst enjoying the Daystate porn that frequently pops up I actually think that some of the guns are ugly. If you can afford a DS and you really want one then that's great and everyone should be happy for you, but if you think that paying the extra will increase your chances of success then you are mistaken cos there are many guns out there that will match the best that DS have to offer in the real world and leave you with enough change to keep you in ammo for years. I also agree that with advances in design you will get the odd teething troubles-but when you are paying around a thousand pounds for a gun those troubles should be solved in the factory and not occur in the field.
  20. Have owned both and they are equally good guns. If shot count is a major factor then with the s200 you could carry a spare cylinder as it simply screws on but I doubt that it would be very practical. My largest bag of bunnies without a miss (13) was with the s300 but the S200 is such a light and precise gun that its hard to fault-my advice would be to handle them both and then decide.
  21. I would suggest that you buy a cheap gun if you are going to cover it in Duck tape and re-blue the bolt every time you use the thing
  22. I use RWS only since Eley subs seemed to drop in quality a few years back (btw-RWS do a HV HP that's dammed good )-I have noticed that some types of .22 do seem harder to chamber (CCI Stinger were the worst because they were soooo long) but this only seems to effect accuracy if you chamber a round more than once.
  23. I have to admit to being surprised at your dilemma-I found Cambs the easiest place ever to get permission-we stopped for directions to a piece of land plagued with rabbits that we were asked to deal with and got 2 farms from the chap giving us directions
  24. I contacted Air Arms about this very matter about a year ago-I even designed a simple and cheap way of preventing the problem (if done during manufacture) using a spring loaded ball. Didn't even get the decency of a reply
