Because heat travels towards cold-the colder the mass to which the heat is applied-the faster the transfer.

I find RWS HV the best by far-not easy to get hold of though last time I tried.
-
You may prove right, Sprackles-but when was the last time you heard, or engaged in, so much discussion about a politician-Churchill? Thatcher?-there is no such thing as bad publicity and the people of this country have lost most of their dignity, pride and belief in the system to a point where desperation is a growing factor-desperate people are keen to act.
-
Why not play a few games?-anyone spotting an AD can post details on here-we can all then reply as if interested and arrange viewings that never happen-can you imagine the chaos?

I cannot help but think that, although never his intention to be PM, Farage will be voted into power and find himself with more power than he had hoped-I think that UKIP is a runaway train and there is no party that has the power, nor the means, to stop it.

I always thought that ignition and expansion of the powder was decreasing in ferocity once the wad/shot stated to move up the barrel-as the room for expansion increases then the pressure in the breach area must, surely, drop? If this is the case then the propulsion properties of the propellant are almost negligible by the time the shot/wad have reached the venting ports on a semi-auto-in fact with the possibilities of the wad/shot causing a vacuum behind them-the venting holes may even help increase velocity as the wad/shot nears the end of the barrel?

I have no doubt that you are right, evo, but I thought I would mention it just in case-with most guns fitting a mod is simple but after fitting the MK5 to my MK3 I inadvertently gained a degree in mechanical engineering
-
You MIGHT find that, with the MK5 fitted you cannot remove the cylinder end cap to fill the gun-I had this problem. If this is the case then there is an alternative silencer adaptor that has a wider shoulder and moves the silencer away from the end cap by another 4-5mm-my local dealer knew of this problem and got me the adaptor-if you get the problem just let me know and I will identify my particular adaptor by ringing DS and getting the part number. Once everything is fitted and working don't forget to put a little thread lock (light duty) on the larger thread that screws into the shroud.

If you are a member of a club you might be able to buy a thousand using their discount next time they order?

Even if the content was rubbish (which it certainly is not) it would be worth watching for the quality of the camera work , the scenery is breath taking. Finding it hard to fault any part of the programme.
-
Not as good as the HW unit but reasonable-you must fire a pellet to get the effect because of the way the silencer works-and yes its the carbon version-you will still need a new adaptor but this should come free if yours is faulty. I'm just outside MK which is about an hour from you and you are welcome to come and try the MK5 and my adaptor if it helps-I presume the shrouds are all the same? (my gun is a MK3).
-
Right-you have solved your own problem Cookie69-I had exactly the same problem with mine-even down to it occurring when fitting the HW silencer-its the adaptor that's causing the problem-there seems to have been a batch that were machined with the two threads out of true-this causes the silencer to sit off centre-you can solve the problem by replacing the adaptor and, for extra peace of mind-using a MK5 reflex silencer that screws in place as per usual but also covers 3-4 inches of the shroud and keeps the two perfectly aligned. According to my local G- smith he did 6 or 7 the same last year

Salop sniper-100 yards was the range stated by crash72.
-
100 yards with FAC air running @30/40ft/lb and using a 16/18 gr pellet-that's some shot when you consider that most .22lr users would think twice before taking the shot-tricky enough with the Rimmy but with less than half the power and a lighter projectile???
-
"I own one because I can?" not 100% sure of the logic behind the comment? I don't own one but I could have dozens if I so wished-but I don't-nuff said now cos I'm running out of air (now that reminds me of a gun I've heard of )
-
IMHO the 303 was never intended as a practical gun-more of a PR exercise to launch the new action. There is nothing that puts it above the .22lr in real terms, the r/f is ultra efficient and cheap as well as being quieter and far more versatile but as already said-its your money!
-
Not familiar with this model but cannot see how pellet can hit the shroud?-Are you sure that its not hitting the silencer adaptor-what moderator is fitted?-If its screw on then the cure is simple?
-
Its a Diana mod 27 according to the web-made in West Germany so after the war-you should be able to get spares from Chambers
-
Restore the system to a previous date.

I cannot really see any harm carrying your rank into civvy street-it says something about you-Bruno (Akela)

I think there's a similar gun on Gunstar-in pretty good condition for £160.-

The pop ups should have the name of the pop up on it i.e. Web search or Smart search or similar-you will most likely have downloaded these hidden inside another program-you would have been given the opportunity to refuse them but who reads all the small print? You should find them by going IE-Tools-manage add ons-disable them and then remove the programs by add/.remove programs via your control panel-then install Adblocker

Best Pellet for the BSA Airsporter .22 Circa 1969
bruno22rf replied to srspower's topic in Airgunners
Had similar issues with my Mercury-pellet drops down breach about 1/2" so I found an old tin of Wasps and used them-they fitted the breach but were not very accurate so, in desperation, I tried good old AA field and , despite falling down as before, they give impressive groups. Is it possible that your Airsporter needs a tune/service and simply does not have the power in its current condition to expand the skirt of the pellet into the rifling? -
Got to be honest-not a Webbo fan but the BSA's are a different matter-wonder how many stories they could tell-love the older guns as, at the moment, many are still an affordable piece of history-treat them well sir
