  1. Rented a wedding dress-I already had a suit-borrowed a mates Roller and, after the church, we had a reception at the Kingfisher sporting club near Milton Keynes for just over 70 people-we put £250 behind the bar and never ran out as the manager "found" a case of wine and gave it to us !!!. Went to scotland for the honeymoon and we are still married 22 years later-total cost was less than £1500
  2. You need to find and delete the other browser-if you didn't install it deliberately then it most likely came hidden in something that you downloaded. The browser that you mention is a virus.
  3. My springer was a rescue dog-we got him because we cannot afford breeder prices-I am retired and when he broke his leg clean in half last week (he was 13) it cost me £549 to have him put to sleep and then cremated !!!. I know that vets need to earn a living but jeeez-if the same ever happens to our second dog I will not hesitrate to shoot her
  4. If you want one as a long term investment then fine.....but for day to day hunting the standard TX is hard to beat-the price difference will get you a better scope and a whole lot of ammo..
  5. I bought the whole set-including the gillet-and find the camo effect very good indeed. However-the material is only good on dry days when its pouring down and warm on winter days when its 20+ degrees & you sweat like a pig whilst freezing to death-avoid !!!
  6. After being off her food for a while and generally being uninterested in life in general I came across this tinned food in good old Tesco,s and was initially shocked at the price. But considering the price of food in general I went mad and bought 5 tins to see if our dog liked them-to say that I am impressed is a gross understatement-she has devoured each and every one and, for the first time ever, she chases her empty bowl around removing every tiny morsel. Anyone has similar experiences or have anything good or bad to report about this stuff?
  7. Knew you would be along, evo, I have to admire your brand loyalty and I would not argue with you on many points-I had the MK3 for a couple of years and the trigger is legendary-unless I had tried one then I would not have believed the brilliant trigger and fast lock time. But-in all the time I owned the gun it spent more time being repaired than every other gun that I have owned in 39 years-all put together. I spent hours shooting the 25 meters down our garden and never managed a 10 shot one hole group (my new S410 has done so twice in 3 weeks despite having a trigger that is, frankly, abysmal) and the amount of jammed pellets was embarrassing. I would not consider myself a Daystate hater but more a disappointed owner.having spent time with one-I even struggled to get £350 for her despite being almost mint and she was bought to be scrapped for parts. After I sold the MK3 I was faced with a choice of any gun that I wanted-after much thinking I returned to the manufacturer that has never failed to please me with the 3 previous offerings from them.. At the end of the day the best gun is the one thats best for the individual owner-and until Daystate do something to convince me otherwise-that's Air Arms in my case

Just had a quick look on Google,Islandgun, and you may well be right-well done sir
  9. Can you not simply put a piece of packing (old 35mm film cannister is best) under the scope at the rear mount?
  10. If you are struggling to find complaints about Daystate build quality then you only have to search this site-if not then simply go on the owners forum. Your comments regarding the AA mag make me smile-I have never heard of one failing and if you lube them they are silent-on the other hand you are already experiencing problems with your Daystate jobby ( which, by the way, is twice the price)-the pellet falling back into the action has been going on for years and has still not been fixed-its caused by the jolt as the (mechanical) magazine indexes and usually happens after a couple of years as the O ring wears-but the breach should not be designed in such a way as to allow this common fault-trust me, if you get a pellet jam in the field ( seems to happen when you index the mag with the gun pointing upwards) then you will be putting your Daystate T shirt on Ebay.

Deffo the Elephant Hawk-we used to get loads of them at the end of our garden-they seem to eat a particular plant that grows near water and has pinkish flowers. We came across one in the New Forest a few years ago and took it to a "Nature information center" for a laugh-they were totally clueless
  12. Certainly should hold its value-the Challenger was the final incarnation of the Mercury and was an updated "S" as far as I can tell-the scope rail being the major difference-the model only survived a year before being discontinued. The demise of the Mercury was down to the import of far better quality guns from Germany and the usual British ability to sit back and rest on its laurels and failing to reinvest in its products. I have a Mercury S and love it but if I have to use an older gun for whatever reason I would reach for a HW80 or the even older FWB Sport.
  13. Get an Air Arms S410/510 and save yourself a lot of hassle. In my opinion Daystate have allowed errors to creep into their quality control and do not seem keen to admit, or do anything about, it. When you pay Daystate kinda money, apart from cutting edge technology and innovation, you expect total reliability and there are so many horror stories out there that this is not being delivered. Just sold mine and bought an S410 and I can honestly say that it will match the Daystate all day long.
  14. Your pleasure in taking a position that is clearly below your potential is a real credit to you-not many people with such grit left these days-really hope that it goes well for you-keep us updated
  15. I bought several issues before I finally found a use for them-but then realised that proper toilet paper is much softer.
  16. After increasing my heart tablets my Doctor suggested that I join weight watchers-most surgeries now carry a free 3 month voucher to join. So along I went and i'm hooked-without really trying and simply reducing portion sizes and increasing activity I have lost nearly 2 stone in 16 weeks-the upshot of this is a serious reduction in my Meds and a lot more energy. The desire to lose more weight than other people in your group ( you tend to get small groups gathering together every week) is an amazing driving force and to see people gaining confidence in themselves as their weight falls off is inspiring. If you go along with an open mind then I can highly recommend it.
  17. O.K. then..........you should get a chronograph.
  18. Nothing's really new........but Boomerang's are coming back......at the same time skiing holidays are going downhill fast.

    Bridge Camera

Very little to choose between the 2 types in reality-if you buy either with a wide zoom then its pretty much down to personal choice-the dslr will have more versatility by design but if you dont want to get into photography then the bridge camera is more than adequate-the fujifilm ones are brilliant. My daughter took her exams using one and had no problems.
  20. Hitler was such a clueless leader-he rescued Germany from the greatest depression it had known and took employment levels from 70% up to 100%. He fed his people and his policies saw an end to such food shortages that had seen many forced to eat grass. He then took on the rest of Europe and came close to total power. We can question his methods till the cows come home but his supreme ability to lead and unite his people are beyond doubt.
  21. Watched a televised Appeal for donations to the civilians suffering in the Gaza strip-am I alone in thinking they should perhaps stop flicking missiles into Israel before I donate?, besides, it was only yesterday that a Palestinian mother stood before the camera's with her armed 5 year old son and declared that she would be proud to sacrifice her son for their cause-doesn't make me feel very sympathetic.
  22. The post office do it-think its special delivery and about £15 next day delivery.
  23. Look at it this way-SOMETHING is moving around in your bathroom-you pick up a handgun with whoever is behind the door is oblivious to the fact that you are a/ there and b/ armed. You hold ALL the cards-why on earth would you fire 4 rounds into thel room?
