I seem to remember that Daystate make this gun??
-
I connected mine myself-the bayonet fitting on the wall shuts the gas off when its not connected to anything so you don't even need to turn off the gas-job takes about 30 seconds.

I would go for the quality brands every time-travel around and try as many as you can and do not be put off by buying used-someone else has suffered the initial depreciation and not you-you should get a warranty from a dealer and your consumer rights are there as back up. The vast majority of decent guns will outlive you and your sprogs so buy the best you can-haggle hard and make a point of walking away if the dealer is not flexible-its your money and the ball is in your court. If several dealers have the same gun in stock then leave your offer with them all-let them call you if they want the sale. Do not be put off if you buy a gun that you want but have not seen from a dealer the other end of the country-distance selling regs give you 7 days to cancel the sale and return the gun for ANY reason-you will only pay return postage. If you can afford a new Berretta, Browning (better quality IMO) e.t.c. then get one but if funds are tight I strongly advise you to get a used quality gun over a new "budget" brand. Take your time

looking for a rifle combo few questions if you don't mind
bruno22rf replied to elefantman's topic in Airgunners
I'm with Zetter on the TX200-(IMHO a far better gun than the weirauch)-if the weight is a problem then save a bit more and get something like an Air Arms S400..177 of course. -
Not even picked one up but I have watched several reviews on the net and the gun looks sorted-Walther is a well respected company and I do not think they would risk their reputation by releasing a poor gun-get one and review it for us !!

As it gets colder they often roost together in old nests to keep warm.

Bought my lad a MK3 (I had a MK1 a few years back ) and it shoots every bit as well as my Daystate MK3-I think that the S200 is the most under rated gun in history-its looks must put people off in their thousands but put a scope on it and bring it to your shoulder and it all makes sense. I bet I can guess your future- you will buy one, be well pleased with it and then sell it ,after a while , for something "better"-you will then spend considerable time wishing you still had it

Pretty sure that the police station in Buckingham closed down a couple of years ago so scum like these are free to do as they please-mind you-to be honest unless the thieves were exceeding the speed limit then the officers in Buckingham would never have stopped them.
-
None of the above-cylinder choke is too restrictive for rough shooting-find a multi or half choked gun-pumps are pretty cheap.
-
The OP asked if anybody knew the fine for not wearing a seatbelt-55 posts later someone is calling someone else a liar-I'm guessing nobody is doing many pigeons of late?
-
Quite frankly, SSS, I don't give a hoot what you think about wearing seatbelts-I always do as does anyone in my vehicle. My beef is with the amount of money/time spent on petty "crime" (is it a criminal offence?) when serious crime is rife.
-
AA S200 or 400 would do the job-the 400 would be my choice because you get more shots per charge but both guns are ridiculously accurate. Try guntrader
-
You should hang your head in shame-no seat belt today almost certainly leads to mass murder and world domination tomorrow. I, for one, will sleep a little more easy knowing that the police are using their resources wisely and not wasting their time on the crimes that they cannot solve.
-
I agree with calling the police-to help FedEx take you more seriously-ask whoever you speak to to spell out their name-tell them that they are the person the police will need to speak to regarding the theft.
-
We have 2 Springers-both from rescue and I would not be without them-they steal food, sleep on our two grand sofa when we are out, urinate on our path to avoid getting their feet wet on the grass and constantly pass the most noxious gas I have ever experienced. If I take them shooting one of them chases anything with feathers no matter how far away it is while the other one eats anything it can find on the floor. You gotta love them BTW best dog I ever had was a Staff-don't believe what most people have read and think is true.
-
I'm with pabs on this one-if an FAC puffgun isn't enough poke with everyday pellets (that have been developed and perfected over decades) then your lad needs to be buying you .22lr rounds

Wadsincorprated-500 of OS and pre lubed will be £20 plus postage if you go for 28G but speak to the man first and tell him what smoke pole you have. -

Right-its not as easy as it could be to get a BP licence anymore-the police will need to visit and you must have a safe place to store the stuff and an approved wooden box to store it in (if this is kept in an outhouse then the box needs to be secured to a wall). You will need to buy and collect the stuff as well-having it posted to you will cost a fortune compared to the price of the powder. Shot is readily available but try and find a local supplier again because of postage costs-percussion caps are also, I think, a collect only item. Wads-Kranks as mentioned or Mark Bonner (if he doesn't know wads then no one does !!)-don't forget the over shot wads when ordering. Google suitable loads for powder/shot (or ask previous owner) then buy about 25 small screw top plastic tubes-use a powder measure to measure the powder and place a charge in each tube (you can buy a flask with a suitably sized spout to speed things up if you like-but I would use the flask to charge the tubes and not the gun). If you can find a shot flask that throws the correct weight of shot then go for it-if not then you will need to put the correct load into more tubes (a stout canvas bag to carry everything is essential) Loading is easy but needs concentration-Hammer at half cock-barrel skywards but pointing away from face (NO SMOKING)-charge down the spout and insert/push the main wad home (firm but not hammered in)-shot down and overshot wad-shake the gun to settle the load before pushing the OS wad home-ramrod back under the barrel and gently squeeze a percussion cap before pushing it onto the nipple (squeezing the cap slightly out of shape helps the blasted thing to stay put)-when you are ready (and wearing safety specs) pull the hammer all the way back and let her go-have fun !!_ -
Where can I order one from?

Ardesa Hawken Smooth Bore .54

I would try Mark Bonner at Wadsincorporated.com for your wads and stick to Triple 7 or similar for powder-going down the black route gets expensive if you are only going to use the gun occasionally+percussion caps have to be purchased over the counter I seem to recall. -
Check out Staffsmetaldetector website-it gives a performance/depth rating on most machines and the owner, Kevin, will talk detectors all day long even if there is no sale in sight. I seem to have tried about every machine out there but the one to beat is the Teknetics T2. When you find some land use Google Earth to search from above for signs of buildings that have long gone.

Heads up if you are looking for a nice pate for Christmas-this one is veeeeeeery nice! Probably has less wild boar in it than a can of Lilt but I don't care-only drops 1/2 a point cos its £4 a throw.
-
Done a fair bit of detecting in my time-both machines you mention are perfect for beginners-but many more advanced searchers use them as well-they are simple to use and master whilst still managing to detect to impressive depths. It is more desirable to have full control of a basic machine than no idea how to use an advanced unit.

Push a length of fishing line up the barrel from the muzzle end (remove the bolt first) make a loop and tie a knot-put a small piece of cloth soaked in bore cleaner into the loop and pull back thru the barrel-do this a couple of times and then use dry strips of cloth until they emerge clean. Strip and clean the bolt assembly (youtube shows you how) then check the mounting screws are tight on the gun (x2) and the scope. Remove the Mod and use either RWS or Eley subs to check for accuracy-you should find 1/2" groups are possible at 50 yards in still conditions. You could consider fitting a trigger kit to further improve matters but the above usually works p.s. don't forget to put 10-15 shots down the barrel before doing any serious zeroing work after cleaning the bore-allow the barrel to cool between shots when zeroing-10 seconds should suffice.
