Ardesa Hawken Smooth Bore .54
bruno22rf replied to Gun Watch's topic in Guns for Sale (Private Sales)
I would try Mark Bonner at Wadsincorporated.com for your wads and stick to Triple 7 or similar for powder-going down the black route gets expensive if you are only going to use the gun occasionally+percussion caps have to be purchased over the counter I seem to recall. -
Check out Staffsmetaldetector website-it gives a performance/depth rating on most machines and the owner, Kevin, will talk detectors all day long even if there is no sale in sight. I seem to have tried about every machine out there but the one to beat is the Teknetics T2. When you find some land use Google Earth to search from above for signs of buildings that have long gone.

Heads up if you are looking for a nice pate for Christmas-this one is veeeeeeery nice! Probably has less wild boar in it than a can of Lilt but I don't care-only drops 1/2 a point cos its £4 a throw.
-
Done a fair bit of detecting in my time-both machines you mention are perfect for beginners-but many more advanced searchers use them as well-they are simple to use and master whilst still managing to detect to impressive depths. It is more desirable to have full control of a basic machine than no idea how to use an advanced unit.

Push a length of fishing line up the barrel from the muzzle end (remove the bolt first) make a loop and tie a knot-put a small piece of cloth soaked in bore cleaner into the loop and pull back thru the barrel-do this a couple of times and then use dry strips of cloth until they emerge clean. Strip and clean the bolt assembly (youtube shows you how) then check the mounting screws are tight on the gun (x2) and the scope. Remove the Mod and use either RWS or Eley subs to check for accuracy-you should find 1/2" groups are possible at 50 yards in still conditions. You could consider fitting a trigger kit to further improve matters but the above usually works p.s. don't forget to put 10-15 shots down the barrel before doing any serious zeroing work after cleaning the bore-allow the barrel to cool between shots when zeroing-10 seconds should suffice.

Fit a small wheel to the front of your bicycle and enjoy the benefits of always cycling downhill.

Get your hands on a bottle of UNGERS window cleaner-wet a cloth and put a dab of the cleaner on and give the screens a quick wipe over-this stuff is amazing. Pretty sure that screwfix sell it.

This is a very common problem-but it is kind of a vicious circle because when you don't sleep you become worried-this then prevents you getting off the next night. Several techniques can work by themselves but if they don't then go and see your GP-lack of sleep can be dangerous to you and those around you as well as having serious long term effects. You can buy tapes of rainfall or whatever sound relaxes you or you can invent a story in your mind that you wind down to-a good example is-you are out walking with friends in the Dales when you realise that its going to get dark before you get back to the cars-you have no option but to make camp wherever you can but you can see huge rainclouds coming your way so you need to make a waterproof shelter and find some way of keeping you all warm thru the night. Take your time and imagine as many details as you can-the important thing is to be comfortable under your shelter when the storm strikes. Try it or variations on the technique-you might be surprised.

How old were the birds?-may have needed bleeding out and hanging for a few days?
-
Your other half got them to write ON the jacket?-if so they could not resell the item.
-
Strewth Michael-with luck like yours I would sit down to pee - nothing is safe in your hands
-
By "open up" I assume you mean expand?-Never heard of this being a problem-I've been using subs for many years and any rabbit that is hit fair and square stays down-if you are hitting them in the right place then they should be dead. Even if the bullet is abnormally slow then the round would stop in the rabbit and the shock should be lethal?

Take the drawer out and put it in the dishwasher-meanwhile get a Toothbrush and using a spray cleaner -brush all the carp away from the drawer opening top surface-wipe out as much residue as you can to avoid it going into the drum.

Compensate for having one testicle hanging lower than the other by leaning to one side as you walk.
-
If you cannot find a hanger for your favourite jacket-bend a car aerial into the appropriate shape.

Buy potatoes instead of Apples-there are cheaper.

My top tip-get a woman really drunk before attempting to throw your leg over-your success rate increases and you can boast how good you were the next day.
-
Bless her-give her my love and best wishes, not many folk left from that era where respect and dignity were commonplace.

Its in the post, Chris, so you will soon learn just how much your hand shakes
-
Well done, I say-could do with something similar over here.
-
Blunderbuss-I felt exactly the same as you until a few years back-shame I wasn't on this forum then-you could have come round for the night.

Cut lengths of Cling film to match each windows length/height-roll each piece loosely and then use a kitchen knife to gently push the strips into the gaps (with the windows closed) -with a little work you can eliminate the draughts. In the new year you can remove them and keep em for next year.

If you can identify it then a CNC lathe will make it

Yep-so often that we had the vicar round to bless each room in the house and ask the spirit (a young girl) to move on. The church actually have specialists that you can call on in severe cases! Never believed in ghosts until these events about 7-8 years ago.

Theres plenty of spray nest destroyers about now-pretty sure that even Tesco sell them-they have a range of 2-3 metres-if you can see the nest inside the loft then give it a spray-if you can see where they are going in to the roof then wait till dark and puff Ant powder into the hole.
