  1. When i first saw the Hfax ad.i tried to contact them to let them know that it gets on my ****-rather wisely they dont seem to have an email addy for customer services that i could find.ISA ISA my ******
  2. I "discovered" these by accident and i think they are by far the best tasting onions i.ve ever tried. As far as i,m aware you can only get them in Lidl and they are made by "Baresa"-what we have here gents are Borretane onions with caramel in olive oil and balsamic vinegar.Come in a 300g jar marked Cipolle Borrettane with a green and white lid showing a picture of 3 onions-price is £1.19.Do yourselves a favour and try a jar-then try not empty the jar in one go.
  3. Most of the weirauchs i,ve seen have the gold bladed record trigger unit-it must have a model number on it somewhere, usually on the side of the breach - if you are considering buying it then make sure that it has "Hull Cartridge" stamped on the barrell to prove that its an official import.
  4. Accurate kidney function tests are extremely difficult on an unborn child-if they do turn out to be u/s then dialysis is not a huge problem for one so young but can be time consuming and worrying for the parents.Should the kidneys be part functioning then they may serve the child long enough to reach transplant age-you can get by with about 40% of normal function with the downside that the child may not grow as quickly as a "normal" baby. When the time for transplant arrives then the table turns somewhat in the childs favour because young children are very good transplant recipients with a good life span before another transplant is needed-this is because the transplanted organ (unless the child suffers rejection) dies a little at a time and young children can recieve quite a large organ to begin with.Assure your friends that the operation is not painfull and recovery can be as little as 5 days-modern drugs are very good at suppresion without too many side effects and , contrary to popular belief, the child will not spend its life catching colds/bugs and being unwell. They will need a positive attitude to help see them through the times ahead and good friends go a long way to making things more bearable-wish them good luck from me and ,im guessing, everybody else on this forum. p.s. The Churchill hospital in Oxford is an outstanding place to go for all things Renal.
  5. As above-i,ve been given an oldish Airgun that has spent many years out of use and the leather washer is dry and not creating a very good seal-also ,upon firing there is a smell of oil and a puff of smoke so im guessing that the gun was last lubed with mineral oil.Whats the best way to rejuvinate the washer (and breach seal)?-should i try and remove the mineral oil with white spirit first?-any help would be gratefully recieved.p.s. What grease for the spring/piton.?
  6. I,ve got a small square Arkasas stone thats ideal for this job-pm me your address and i will pop it in the post for you as long as you send it back when you,re done-or see if you can get one at a local engineering merchant.
  7. Thanks for the advice so far-the site manager is looking for written confirmation that foxes carry such diseases and will then forward them to the council and the board of governers.Walked round the back of the school last night and the blighters were yapping to each other constantly-must have been at least 5 out there if not more. Most of the droppings seem to be purple in colour and the sloes that we have tons of seem to be rare on the lower branches-would they eat them? ( i know they are eating the Rose Hips cos you can see them in the droppings)
  8. The G80 was the flagship of the Diana range which was a shame really cos it was a pile of pants-i guess it was made in some cheapo labour country and fogged to the unsuspecting punters as it looks good.I think they sold quite well because you used to be able to buy them in mail order catalogues like Littlewoods e.t.c.-should really have been in the toys section.Sorry m8-just my opinion drawn from experience of the beast.
  9. The councils response to live catching and release is a log the lines of "this practise is now seen as cruel as the territorial nature of the fox leaves the animal confused and unlikly to survive" following advice fron the RSPCA the council will no longer allow such practice on their land.We even had the council send out a pest control firm to initially identify the culprits (has to be done as a matter of course for all vermin related problems) and the operator said that urban foxes seem to have more protection than the royals.
  10. Looking for some sound advice guys-part of my work is site maintainance on a school site about 4-5 acres in total.Over the last couple of months foxes have moved in under some of the temporary buildings and are fouling the grass areas so heavily that they are now unusable-some areas are relativly clean but others are covered with faeces. We have been told that we cannot trap them-poison them-shoot them-block up the access holes-gas them-deliberatly release dogs to catch them. Its amazing that these pests are allowed free passage to prevent a school from using its sports facilities. What can we do (the council suggest flashing L.E.D.,s and a substance called "scoot")? Anybody with any serious suggestions please share them with us (im all for popping them with a .22 sub as we can get within 25 yards of them quite easily but i,ve been told that i would be instantly dissmissecd if caught)
  11. Crossman 1322 has power bang on the limit and after being pumped up can be left safe for hours. On one of the airgun forums there,s a guy who tunes/services them and i would contact him for the best advice. If you do decide to get one make sure that it has the metal breach and not the later plastic version-these came in when production was moved to Mexico where the assembly is so bad as to make these versions total rubbish.
  12. There were 2 in the for sales section on this forum less than 2 weeks ago-£40 each if my memory is still working.
  13. Anyone with a copy of either to sell im keen to get them.
  14. I,ve googled "where the red fearn grows" and it looks like the one-a million thanks for your help, guys.
  15. Hi all-hoping someone can help name a film i saw many years back and have wanted to get a copy ever since.Storyline is in the southern states of the US and involves a young boy (father farms a small hometead) who saves all his money to buy a "coonhound".As the crops fail his father needs the money but the following year the boy manages to buy one "mail order" and gets 2 by mistake.Cut a long story short the boy wins the state championship with his dogs but the film ends after one of the dogs is killed protecting the boy from a mountain lion and the remaining dog just lies on the dead dogs grave until is also dies.Any bells ringing out there?
  16. Unlikely to be crows if there was a number of them as crows are pretty solitary birds and only tend to flock in extreme weather-most likely Rooks if a flock was involved. Not to say that you did,nt shoot a crow by any means-Rooks respond in the same manner regardless.Rooks also trend to do little damage to crops as they dont dig for seeds like crows will-they will normally clean up any seeds on the surface of the field -these would not normally have germinated anyway.Over the last few years it has been suggested that Rooks do a good job of removing grubs from the fields (leatherjackets i think) and are usefull in most cases. Not a lecture my friend-just a harmless observation from a local fellow shooter.
  17. My AAS200 lives in the back of my Shogun most of the time and gets banged about quite a bit as well as having all sorts of rubbish thrown on top of it.I dont know how old it is cos i bought it second hand about 2 years ago but apart from charging her once or twice a month i,ve never had to touch her maintanance wise and the zero has only shifted once (by about 1/2") since i originally sighted it in.A quick wipe over with an oily rag and the thing comes up like new-i cant fault these little guns on any score.Without meaning any disrespect i did own a Falcon once but found that it was nothing but trouble and never inspired any confidence (maybe i had a dodgy one) IMHO at the mid to lower end of the price scale you will struggle to beat an Air Arms.
  18. I use boring old Tesco,s PAYG in my phone and have never had any problems whatsoever with the service-i allways seem to get a signal when people around me cant.I put £10 a month in and that gets trebled and so long as i only use mainly my 5 favouirite numbers then i rarely use all the credit+ i get clubcard points which helps pay my RAC membership and the cheapest mobile directory services on the market.
  19. Not a bad rule of thumb but there are many other factors effecting the used value-Is it a sought after model?-Is it a chinese clap gun?-Is it common as muck?-safest bet would be to look on gun sales sites (am i allowed to mention "guntrader"?) and see what price a particular gun is fetching.
  20. Sorry Sean-my mishtake!-i thought that the 822 was an 80,s model?-very similar to the T200 (also called the Telly) and many parts are interchangeable.
  21. Looks like a Relum T200 to me-just thought i,d mention it.
  22. Whilst we seem to be debating which calibre would have been best for the job in hand i must admit to being confused as to why they had to be shot in the fist place. If the road had been closed for ,say, 20 minutes is there anybody on this site who doesn,t think they could have got within darting range?
