I,ve always thought that as long as its been MOT,D since the accident then theres no problem-in the event of a loss claim, however, you might get less than the market value due to your cars history.Gloker-I,ve never heard of that happening before-surely 2 catches have to fail for the bonnet to lift?-one,s the cable operated unit thats operated from inside the car then theres the safty catch built into the chasis.

I think that if you cant obey the rules of society then you have no right to dictate how it is shaped-this country is being butt raped by Brussels and the apathetic upper middle class twits (A) that quote equality from their armchairs.

I regularly take down Cape Buffalo with my Ratcatcher (.22 obviously) but i would,nt consider taking the shot without the crystal clear optics of my trusty SMK scope.

Look out for an early TX200-one of the greatest springers ever made.

Markbivvy-understand what you,re saying but having met Elby a couple of weeks back i can promise you that the guy,s A1-one of the most genuine shooting men i,ve had the pleasure to meet.

What make/model is it m8?

Amount of re-fills depends on-tank size-pressure in tank-gun working pressure. If you do a lot of shooting then its worth getting a tank (make sure you can get it re-filled locally)-if funds are tight then buy a second hand set up (quite often come up on this site or any airgun site) but make sure its got a long re-test date on it.You could live with a pump if you,re young and fit and then buy your tank a bit at a time in the for sales section-once you,ve got the kit you can sell the pump-thats whet i did and saved a fortune.
-
Why not buy a second hand one?-come up on this site all the time and theres a lot of decent blokes on here who wont mess you about.Make sure you get at least a 40mm objective lens and decent mounts-TX is a very good gun so buy the best you can for it.

The AA moderaters are superb for the price-if you,ve got an S200 -dont go hunting without one

Zeroing a scope help pleaseee !!
bruno22rf replied to The Pest Expert's topic in General Shooting Matters
Check that both mounts are identical by placing on a flat surface and checking they are level-count the elevation clicks on your scope from end to end of its adjustment then work out where the centre is and set it at that point.Place the scope back on the gun and test fire at ,say, 20 metres-use shims to bring the gun onto the target (i used to use cut up 12 gauge cartridge cases ).Your scope is now in perfect alignment with you barrell. The only thing thats springs to mind if the probem turns out to be the mounts is that you,ve got a set designed for a weirauch as these guns have "drooping" barrels and should use special mounts to compensate. On second thoughts-look along the scope rail on your gun and see if its aligned with the barrell-if not you could have a beeg problem. -
Huge response for this-but sorry guys its sold to paraone-thanks for all the interest-wish i had more of them

Seem to remember that the mercury has a plastic piston head and "o" ring washer-if the spring is too pokey the piston could have been hitting the end of the cylinder as the pellet was leaving the barrel way before the piston came to the end of its stoke-the resulting shock could cause all kinds of problems.I seem to remember that you need a specific type of lube for these seals and the incorrect oil could also cause problems. The mercury was a very good gun and somewhar under-rated IMHO-they will be getting rarer with passing of every year so ,if it were mine, i would get it done properly and look after it.

Nail a newspaper to the side of your shed-set both scopes to the same mag then from a distance walk slowly towards the paper with one scope at a time and see which one enables you to read the print from the greatest distance-the one with the clearest optics is most likely the better quality one?

Mungler-r.e. your comments on my post-did,nt write about "it all"-wrote about the girl herself as i would imagine her-writing poetry is a hobby of mine (im getting ready to be laughted at )-totally understand why people dont believe in ghosts but i wish a few of you could have been here whilst it was happening.

Stripped it down and greased the piston/spring with moly grease and soaked the washer overnight in silicone oil.New breach seal and she works a treat-from not puncturing a yoghurt pot to going clean thru both sides of a bean tin.The gun ,a Diana G80,was given to me free by a member of this forum and is now in almost mint condition.

I allways thought that the whole spirit thing was a load of old dung until-7-8 years ago whilst off work and looking for RAF graves at our local graveyard i came accross a grave of a little girl who had died aged 11 in 1820.It made me sad at the time and i recall wondering if she would have died in modern times e.t.c. and eventually i wrote a poem for her.Two years later we began to realise that odd things were occuring around the house and one morning the mrs joked that we had a ghost.Things got steadily worse (my son running downstairs asking us to get the girl off his bed because she had woken him up-books flying accross the room in front of guests as well as us-footsteps at night e.t.c.) Eventually i rather sheepishly made an appointment to see the local vicar and in time met him and explained our prediciment. To my suprise he was not at all shocked and even explained that it was quite common in our village.A few days later he visited our house and after a while he told us that he thought that the spirit of a young girl was in the house (it was,nt until then that i made the connection with the grave) and with my wife and myself he blessed each room in the house and asked the spirit to leave. We have had nothing strange occur since-if we did, he informed us, we could contact the Oxford diocese who had men more qualified in these matters. For all those doubters out there i swear that this is all exactly what happened.

When i was 12 a mate and me managed to buy a double .410 from an elderly lady (£4) by telling her that we would take out the firing pins and hang it on the wall.Within a couple of days we had blagged some empty shells from the local poacher and got our hands on a box of 12,s.Using a pair of pliers and various other impliments from the kitchen we managed to reload the .410 shells using toilet paper as wadding and a blob of sealant in place of the crimp. We shot loads of rabbits this way until the local bobby got wind of what we were up to and eventually caught us red handed-great days, where are you now Eddy?

Thats gotta be one of the best bargains on here so far-hugely under-rated rifle- well done dando44-by the way, your will need a silencer/moderator on it as they crack like a rimfire and you will find that 170 bar is the sweetest spot.
