  1. Remove the thermostat and (if theres no water) pour water down the pipework towards the water-pump.Turn the engine over and see if water comes flying out-if not then your water pump is u/s.
  2. Pop to your nearest jollies pet store and buy a big bag of sunflower HEARTS-every Finch under the sun loves these-we get Green,Gold,Bull and Chaffinchs every day in large numbers-costing me a fortune but its great to see them all the time.Dont be tempted to buy any foods in those red plastic mesh "socks"-birds have been known to get their feet tangled in them and suffer death by exhaustion as they struggle to free themselves.
  3. Shop bought snares are o.k. if you leave them outside to weather for a few weeks but they are so easy to make yourself that its not really worth buying them.Set the bottom of the loop about 2 inches from the ground on the most prominent runs and secure them to the fence if possible. If you run out of snares then you can pee on the remaining runs to make buggsy less keen to use them.
  4. As above-this must be one of the best examples of these superbikes still on the road. Its the very last water cooled engine and have paperwork to prove 125 bhp at rear wheel.Only done 16K miles with paperwork to prove she comes with a Stainless Steel Bose exhaust and Dynojet kit fitted by Straightline racing. Some service history and doesnt look like its ever seen rain.Tyres almost new and taxed for 8 months with 11 months mot- only bad bit is that she will need chain and sprockets by the end of the season .£2k and worth every penny-located in bucks.p.m. me your email addy for pics as cant upload due to size.
  5. I loved these guns when they first came out but £400?-no way!-depending on which stock is fitted i'd say about £250 max p.s. maybe a bit more if you have all the charging equipment.
  6. If you're not getting clean kills on stoats and weasels with a .22 rimfire then you're not shooting straight-if you're not getting clean kills on charlie then you're too far away.
  7. Now that you've been quoted that price-check your local area to see if you can find a Formula 1 autocentre or similar-most now have a price promise to beat any local quote-you can get it even cheaper and they HAVE to beat the price-if you have several offering this deal near you then you can save a fortune.Had Formula 1 replace my rear discs and pads on my shogun this year for £135-thats less than i can buy the discs alone for.
  8. The S200 being ugly is a benefit to all airgunners on a budget-it keeps the used price down-they do look like some kind of 70's throwback but pick one up and you will be amazed how easy they are to hold on target.
  9. Just one for me-the GAU-8 Avenger multi-barrelled canon as used on the A10 tankbuster-game on.
  10. What if your first round is a flyer?-or the first round since you cleaned/oiled the bore?what if your scope/mounts are loose?-I would,nt feel confident relying on just one round to check the accuracy of any rifle-4-5 tells you a much more reliable story.
  11. I picked up a complete S200 .177 outfit for £275 including a 12ltr diving bottle and scope/moderator.I cannot think of any gun in this price range that would beat it on any count.Watch the for sale ads on all the A/G sites and on here and buy a bit at a time-took me nearly 4 months but i enjoyed the experience and really appreciate the gun.I would'nt part with mine for all the tean china-this very evening i shot 3 pigeons stone dead in about 30 seconds-i think they were about to enjoy a romping session and were,nt really paying attention-S200 at less than 30 yards and it was goodnight vienna for the trio.
  12. Fantastic machine agreed-but the hurricane did the majority of the work during the war-without the Spitfire the war may have been a little longer-without the Hurricane it could have been lost.Despite all we read about the threat of invasion during the battle of britain-the germans did'nt stand a cat in hells chance of invading our shores-Churchill knew this as did most of the top brass.Even without air superiority the english could prevent invasion by using a tiny proportion of her navy.
  13. I've got a rotary scratcher (only way i can describe it)-it has 3 toothed wheels that dig into paper and rip the surface open with ease-you simply rub it over the walls in a circular motion and then spray with soapy water-wait 5 minutes and you dont need a scraper cos the paper simply peels away (even woodchip)-brilliant invention.
  14. If it has "GDI" (gasoline direct injection) anywhere in the model name/number dont walk away-run as fast as your legs can carry you.On the shogun owners forum someone has started up a GDI appreciation thread-its a very small thread. These cars are a nightmare when (and they will) go wrong.Pleeeease-do yourself a favour and walk away(quickly).
  15. As my father in law is in hospital we have just paid his phone bill for him-total calls this last quarter=79pence-total bill this quarter-£55 with nothing carried forward from last bill.Robbing sons of ........ :o
  16. A chain and padlock are a mere time waster to most tea leaves-we had a £150 sold secure padlock and when i found it after our trailer was nicked it looked like it had been just split in half-take the wheels off-if it has feet that jack up like a caravan p.m. me and i will tell you a great way to stop your trailer getting nicked.
  17. If the unit is not clicking then the pulley clutch is not engaging the pump-check the fuse-if its blown try another but if that pops then your pump or pulley clutch has seized. When you go for a regass think carefully-most pros will tell you that going to a non specialist could cost you dear-halfords-kwik fit etc have messed up a whole load of systems-they cost me £988 in repairs for mine.Dont forget that all systems lose about 15% of the gas per year-this includes the oil within the gas so if the gas gets too low you could cause your pump to sieze-be warned- if you own a newish shogun your car will be undriveable with broken air-con-this applies to a lot of modern cars.
  18. S400 will outshoot you all day long but then so will any AA gun made in the last 5 years-most before that will do it with ease as well.Sorry to see you cant find anywhere to shoot -if you were nearer i could find you plenty.Dont commit to the 400 until you have tried others-even the springers from AA are superb albeit not as easy to shoot as a PCP.As well as charging equipment you might like to consider a moderator cos PCP'S tend to emit quite a loud "crack" on firing (the list of bits seems endless).Considering your budget and the need for sights-mod-charging equipment-I would suggest a second hand set up-find which model you prefer via gunshops and then buy privately-most sellers who have been on this forum for a while are trustwothy so watch the ads.Dont dismiss the S200-its ugly but by god it shoots well.
  19. Here goes-remove carpet if you have one-if your floor is in a bad state get it screeded-rip off your old skirting boards-use a decent underlay "tile" and lay them with a 2mm gap and in a pattern like bricks.Buy the proper fitting kit and borrow a cross cut curcular saw (saves oodles of time).Lay the boards as per instructions but get them as close to the wall as possible without actually touching it.Buy wood effect plastic skirting boards and stick them on the walls in place of the originals putting them on top of the laminate-this looks really tidy.If ants have ever been a problem spread ant powder under the skirting boards before fixing and use a thin bead of flexible sealant to finsh the join.Lay back and let her repay you with some loving.Dont forget to leave the boards in the intended room for a few days before you use them-this lets them settle at the room temperature.
  20. CO2 guns are o.k. up to a point but they have drawbacks that make them inferior to pcp's in hunting situations.Simple answer to your question is anything modern by Air Arms firing the majority of the top 5 hunting pellets (there,s hundreds of threads on this site discussing which is best and for what) will put one pellet on top of another till the cows come home. You are in the driving seat so dont be tempted into a rushed decision-try various guns at local shops-you will know when you pick up the gun and shoot it if it is right or not.Dont forget that if you go down the pcp route you must budget for filling equipment-pumps are fine if you are healthy and dont shoot too often but a tank is the ultimate. You could try telling people on this site your location and ask if anyone is willing to take you out and let you have a go with their gun-you will learn more than at a dealer.
  21. If you can't get hold of any prometheus, as recommended, try throwing lumps of uneven and miss-shaped coal of various sizes at the target-same result but slightly cheaper.

    Darts

If you want to fire STEEL ammo up a rifled barrell then be my guest-but there must be slightly quicker ways to roger your gun-these were designed to be fired up cheap smoothbore guns IMHO.

    WORM ALERT

Watch your email inbox for any message with the word "I Phone" in the text-it may look like it has come from someone that you know because it somehow places the name of one of your contacts at its heading-delete it-do not open it cos its another worm.
  24. Were both barrels working and then neither?-at the sam time?-on the early lanbers the cocking link (on the forend) could come loose and move fowards-this is connected to the hammers and could prevent them falling all the way-cock the gun and fire it with the forend off-any difference?

    I had Worms.

You had been infected by a rogue trojan-theres a really powerfull one going around at the moment that goes under about 20 different names-it convinves you that your computer is infected and offers you the solution for about £40.Everybody should download Malwarebytes free edition and put it on a memory stick cos the trojen can make running programs from your desktop almost impossible -if you get the "virus" then you can just pop your stick intio the usb and run the program-sometimes you need do it twice. There are so many good free anti virus software programs available that you should never need to pay.
