  1. £50 would buy you a woman in MK-im very close to you and have never paid a penny for shooting.Just an observation.Might have been wiser to invite ,say, 5 people free of charge and then in exchange they would write a review of the day-then you would have a much stronger pitch.Good luck with it anyway-if it enables a couple of landless guns a day out then it cant be bad.
  2. Many people never clean the bore on .22lr,s cos they seem to pick up less lead than fullbores-also , just after cleaning the bore you tend to get 2 or 3 fliers whereas leaving the bore alone never seems to significantly affect the accuracy. When i get really bored i use a length of fishing line pushed from the muzzle thru to the bolt chamber-i then tie a small piece of cloth on the end and soak it in wd40-pulled back up the bore this seems to remove everything quickly (and cheaply)-if i,m then not going to use the gun for a while i put a drop of gun oil on the last patch.
  3. As its still under warranty im guessing that you bought it new-in which case do not attempt to fix it at all.Take it back and express your concern that its gone wrong in such a short time and that not having the gun is most inconvenient-the law is on your side so dont take any bull plop.If its losing pressur below a certain point then its not usable (unless the pressure is really low-say 20 bar)-by law they must be given the opportunity to repair the gun but this must be completed to your satisfaction and in a "reasonable" space of time.Next time buy an Air Arms!!!!
  4. Fantastic guns but i would recommend shopping around and see if you cant pick up a multi choked version-much more versatile than fixed choke-unless the gun you are looking at is 1/4 & 3/4 chokes i would think carefully about its suitability long term-buying privatly is not a real problem with Brownings as you would need to be pretty busy to wear one out-you would get more for your cash in a private sale-just my opinion of course but we,ve all been blinded by shiny new guns.
  5. At no point did i suggest that you needed a doctor to spot a prosthetic leg-newspapers have a knack of twisting the truth to make a story-simple fact is that to get a blue badge to need to go see your GP-if he says you need one then the council are duty bound to supply one for you-you dont need to "apply" to your council for one as such.
  6. Is there no-one local to this fella can let him come along and hear one firing?-my .22lr with a cheap as chips parker hale moderator on it is much quieter than my airgun-on firing its just the click of the bolt followed by the thud of the impact.Use good quality subs for best results-be hard to beat Eley Extra.
  7. Pump has most likely siezed as its bin off for a while-some have a screw head visible on the end that can be "persuaded" with a screwdriver to free up the pump internals. If you can see the pump and i.d. it then you might be able to find an answer by googling it-otherwise its a plumber ,im afraid,if you do need to replace it then next year make sure your system has inhibitor in it and run it once a month thru the summer.Dont worry too much-over the next couple of months as people start turning their heating on again plumbers up and down the country will be enjoying a bonanza of cash because of this yearly windfall.
  8. Gonna take some flack for this but i would rate this camera as being a good match for the Canon/Nikon offerings in this class-Fuji is an often overlooked maker of some superb cameras.
  9. There is most likely a lot more to this story than meets the eye-dont take everything that you read in the paper as gospel-blue badges are easy to get with your doctors consent ( his GP seems to have been left out of the story)-if your GP thinks that you need one then all it takes is a phone call from the relevant dept and bobs your uncle. No dissrespect meant in any way whatsoever to the soldier concerned but i think this story may have been "dramatised". l
  10. Tend to agree with happyshooter-practice using your new gun until you have gained some shooting skills then ditch the xs78 and buy a S200 or similar.
  11. I think that by teaching any child that a physical response to bullying is wrong you are setting the child up for a miserable time.No matter how we wrap up the laws of the playground the basic human instinct of violence will prevail and the weaker kids will suffer one way or another.I have drummed it into my boy that he should never hit anybody unless in defense of himself or another child that he feels needs protecting. He was taught to fight at proper martial arts classes where the teacher was always reminding the students that they must show responsibilty whenever called upon to use force. We can all argue the rights and wrongs of violence and i firmly believe that at times its use is justified-up to the age of 9 my lads school life was wretched-giving my son the ability to defend himself was my only option when the school would do nothing to help- its taken the result of 2 bruised faces to turn his life around.Teach your boy to fight-but more importantly when you,ve done so-teach him WHEN to fight.
  12. Tasco will be more than up to the job-while you,re putting it onb why not align it correctly to tg the bore?-count the number of clicks from all the up adjustment to the other end and then half it- wind the scope adjuster the half from either extreme and mount the scope lightly-fire a couple of rounds at a target near your normal range and pack the scope mounts until you get the elecation as near as you can-simple.
  13. Made thousands over the years and normally use the electrical wire used for sheep fencing-not the stuff with the nylon running thru it!-most agricultural suppliers should stock it-dont forget that once you,ve made your snares you need to leave them outside to weather for a few weeks -this removes any scent on them and takes away the shiny glare from any brass that you,ve used.
  14. "was so much owed, by so many, to so few"-ex WW2 pilot buddy of mine reckons they were talking about the slates that the fighter boys ran up at their local public house.

    Camera

No joking - have a look at the Fujifilm s2000 exr finepix-not an slr but looks identical and has superb zoom on it-also 12 MP-supermacro.This unit will match the canon/nikon in most situations and beat them in some-unless you are a proffesional photographer why spend so much money on a name?
  16. Buy the S200-one of the best kept secrets on the market-dont be fooled by its size or price-outstanding gun at the price with a quality that AA are renowned for.It may be one of the cheapest but thats cos its built by the same company that make the BRNO rifles and you wont get many complaints about them on this site-you will have to spend a lot of money to beat this gun by any score.
  17. Direct Line are well known for "cherry picking" customers-if you are a bog standard driver with a b/s car then you can get a reasonable quote-step outside these parameters and you,ll get clobbered.Anybody who does,nt shop around for a quote every year is simply throwing their hard earned away-once you get the cheapest quote online ring the company and beat them down a bit more-be willing to take out the policy there and then and try reducing the cost by-do you need legal cover?-sometimes your household insurance covers you.Can you afford to increase your excess?-can make a big difference. If you only have a couple of years no-claims then is it worth protecting it-all these things add up-save tesco clubcars points by making a point of filling up there and getting your mates to use your card when they do-you can get top level RAC cover for less then £60 worth of points.
  18. If my memory serves me right-i seem to recall that german fighter pilots were awarded 2 kills for each mossie they shot down!!
  19. My heart says the FWB but my head says the HW80-easier to tune and more accurate in standard trim-a masterpiece of engineering.
  20. Beg ,steal or borrow as big a deposit as you can-every grand you put down will save you at least 3-4 in the long run.Go for a repayment mortage cos endowments just aint gonna pay out and in the next 10-15 years a lot of people are going to be up poo street.Dont be afraid to go online cos mortgage companies sometimes have a once in a lifetime offer either regarding interest or fixed term-dont overstretch what you can afford if you cant get fixed rate for at least 5 years cos interest has got to rise eventually.Pay as much off as you can monthly.
  21. CZ ZKM 452-had mine a fair few years now and not ever even cleaned it-might have adjusted the sights 2 or 3 times since new but thats about all - never regretted buying it once.If you cant bowl a bunny over at 100 yards its either you or the ammo ( Eley extra subs or RWS high velocity are best) cos the gun will do it all day long.
  22. Meanwhile- for those of us that dont want to melt our face-theres a resturant in Bicester called Arzoo-right in the middle next to the car park that does a buffet on a sunday for a tenner-its very difficult not to eat yourself sick as the grub is superb (chefs got loads of awards)-not for the dedicated molten lava freak as the foods spicy rather than hot-well worth a visit.
  23. Crossman 1322 will do the job at reasonable ranges-dont buy the new ones cos they are garbage-you need an earlier metal breached one-some guy on the airgun forum tunes them as well-most likely the most powerfull pistol on the market for the money-dammed accurate as well.
  24. You dont have to cry to be a man-you,re just a bit less of one if you did but cant admit it.Fail to see what it being Iraq has got to do with it-this is raw emotion that we are all capable of showing and understanding. If you lack the humanity to share in their joy then something major is missing in your life. You may not be British ,guys, but welcome home and god bless you all.
