  1. I feel sure it will have some impact. This morning my wife received a letter from Sainsburys, not the usual offer sheet but a letter solely about chickens and what they in particular sell in their stores. They must be taking it very seriously indeed to go to such lengths, and so they should.
  2. Good day out for the lad, he's going to think it's like that all the time
  3. Serves him right for being so blasé, I wonder if he tried to get it back?
  4. The Kennel Club must of missed this one http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7172006.stm
  5. All they require is a fax of your certificate. I ordered some cartridges that I couldn't get locally, faxed my ticket over to them and the shells arrived by courier next day, they was not even wrapped up a bit to disguise what the boxes contained, a little surprised at that tbh.
  6. Nice to see them hung up properly too, much better than some pictures on here where they look like they have been just dumped on the floor.
  7. There is a rescue service for GWP's they may be able to help. http://www.kennels.co.uk/Boarding/Rescue.htm
  8. Is there not a rescue organisation for the breed? I know there is for Labs as a friend had one that started to take a dislike to his 2 year old son but was fine with adults etc. The rescue people found the dog a new home with an elderly couple and he lived to a ripe old age.
  9. You will quite likely regret it forever if you do it yourself. I know people that have done it once, just the once. If times are a little hard count me in for the whip. Go and see the vet, get it done right.
  10. Hertfordshire or North Bucks are nearest to me so would be interested in either. No hot shots in Surrey or Kent??
  11. I think this is a top idea and hopefully will actually lead to something. Getting a top shot like Catamong to offer his services is the first step and an extremely fine offer. On a fishing forum I use there is a fully qualified coach who gave the members an opportunity of a days fly casting tuition, about a dozen or so went for it and all of them said it improved their casting no end.
  12. Sounds obvious but one of the main reasons your feet feel cold is they are in direct contact with the cold ground, depending on how much you want to carry taking a bit of corrugated cardboard to place your feet on really does work. I knew a chap that had a job that involved standing on a concrete floor all day and noticed in winter he always stood on a piece of cardboard, when I asked him about it his reply was it was to keep the cold floor from his feet and it really worked. Worth a try if you are really suffering. Neoprene lined boots are my weapon of choice, a little on the large side for preference so when it's really cold you can add an extra pair or two of cotton or wool socks, tight boots will make the problem worse.
  13. I intend to start going clay shooting again after a very long lay off. Looking forward to it.
  14. I am thinking about starting to shoot a few clays again after the game season is over. I'll probably get an o/u rather than use my sbs and will most likely get another Beretta, I had one a while ago when I used to shoot clays regular and liked it a lot. What is considered the best all round barrel length these days for sporting? I have shot with 28" barrels for ages with my sbs and my Beretta had 28" as well, it seemed to make sense as my sbs was that length also but it always seemed that most people used 30" barrels. What is the norm these days? what do the top shots use?
  15. and now he's even more confused fwiw I have a couple of Dell laptops and have had no bother at all, if I was to replace either of my 2 desktops they would be my first port of call, and they still offer XP as an option, that's got to be a bonus
  16. CiD is a sponsor programme that is installed along with some software, have you recently installed some new software? it comes bundled with Messenger Live Plus. If it has been installed like that you can get rid of it from the control panel; Start>Control Panel>add and remove program. Then look for <cid help> and remove it.
  17. Sadly that's all too common. The thing is it should never happen. Normal safety procedures dictate that 12's and 20's should never even be close to being mixed together. Accidents? negligence some might say.
  18. i bet the farmer wouldnt see it that way I don't suppose he would, but the original question was about shooting in his garden.
  19. I know a pest controller that supplies literally hundreds of ferals to, well, lets say the 'restaurant' trade. No point in shooting it if you are not going to eat it.
  20. Connery, no question. All the rest are impostors.
  21. That's brilliant, thank you very much. I have often gone in for competitions like this and not even been close.
