  1. Sack barrow and a few pairs of trainers! Jobs a goodun
  2. Maybe you should have met two mates and followed it on camel back to a local housing est? Some tracksuit clad chavette has prob given birth, as she asks her druggie chap what to call the child, you can trip over her cat, cuss the word “Jesus” and start a whole new biblical chapter? or maybe just stay indoors and lay off that Dutch cake
  3. Playing them at their own game Ditchy 👍 they play the same games televising executions and telling how they died like animals etc.
  4. There used to be some oddments and curiosity item I liked to pick up from there! Also a few bargains. Now it’s filled with overpriced garbage. I gave up ages ago. I also used to use the like of DX etc.
  5. I think there was a classical piece zadok the priest playing. It was for a modern cruise line about 10 year ago.
  6. Thanks, but no! This was a video. I spent hours this morning looking at cruise liner images but with it being a video I never found it hence asking.
  7. Don’t think it was white star! The advert showed a ship out on a sea that was flat calm, reflecting the stars from above giving the impression it was actually floating in space.
  8. Hi guys! I am trying to find an old advert for a cruise company. It had a scene at night where the ship was in a flat calm sea and the reflection of stars made it look like the ship was floating in space. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.
  9. The trick is to remember folk are not all like minded! Enjoy someone’s company for who they are, not for who they voted for. Technically we are spouting at Europe wanting OUR independence
  10. That’s quite entertaining!
  11. some are the correct time. Some are right only twice a day! Some don’t tell the time at all.
  12. I keep all my watches. I will never make any money I have a drawer full of about 40 wrist watches! Around 25 pocket watches and 14 clocks too The current clock I am working on! It needs a new dual cylinder pendulum.
  13. So now fitted the Accurist with a new (vintage) strap and am quite happy with the look. The strap needed some light reshaping to ease it into the watch shoulders. But it fits perfect now! Just a light scratch on the crystal to polish out now and it’s done!!
  14. I like the AVI-8 Centenary wrist watch, very retro even with the off centre seconds sub dial. And comes with the date display too. Prob a tad cheap for your taste, but a very nice piece all the same
  15. Once my shift finishes I could beat Ussain Bolt to the bus stop 😄
  16. Yes, it needs a service as it’s running a little slow!
  17. Got the back off! Needs a good clean and will have it serviced.
  18. Yes the crystal is a smoked acrylic which really needs either the scratches polished out, or replaced! And the watch back could do with some scratches polished out too where some nugget has used the wrong tooling 😞 but the watch runs beautifully and is well worth saving.
  19. Trip to the charity shops today, looking in the cabinet of one shop spy an old vintage watch. How much asks I, £20 says the woman! It’s only a Jäger lecouture isn’t it 😮 then in another shop a beautiful accurist circa 1950 fully working for £4.99
  20. Just think of all those people you could help! Few million in a bank and set up a rolling funding program! Each month the interest goes to a different charity! Leave that running for perpetuity. Family and friends mortgages paid, open a local youth club, start a small business if possible to employ local kids and get them off the streets and earning! Build a hostel for the ex servicemen , build another for the homeless. Buy a small rural estate and teach kids about the rural way of life, farming, game keeping etc. and still have more than enough for your own needs!
  21. Well Dad had his tests done, and we got the news we didn’t want to hear! They found a tumour in his lung. Luckily it’s the size of a marble. Apparently it’s caught very early. It was lucky in a lot of respects that he was suffering with chest pains on the day of mums passing. Had he not, he would not have underwent an X-ray and they would not have found it. And the specialist told him there is no way this tumour could cause chest pains either! Dad said “someone up there is watching over me” I said, “yeah! Mum” I was a little numb after I heard, but there was something about treatment. I assume radiotherapy or as it’s such a small size I am hoping they will simply remove it. So now it’s another waiting game. He is in good fettle all being considered. Still getting about and going to church etc, doing his bit of shopping and eating really well so i have no concerns of his mental state.
