I am not too happy about the whole thing! My son has heart disease and my old man has many health issues. Diabetes, heart disease, chest issues to name a few! Both are in the high risk group. If anything were to happen to them, my whole purpose is gone! Quite simply, it would destroy me.

The diesel in your blood stream will kill off any earth born virus! besides, I am sure if fat Sarah offered you mouth to mouth, the shock alone would see you back on your feet, and running for your bunker, I mean shed!

A service is normally more filter changes and calibration than anything else, But over time the evaporators diaphragm can fail. The injectors can stick and the valves may need the clearances checked. I ran a 1.4 Astra for around 8 years on LPG and except for a few minor issues it was brilliant. You can buy service kits for the injector solonoids and the diaphragm kits with gaskets.

Always worth keeping a bit of bluetack in the glove box! Use it to stick the transponder to the cowling under the ignition barrel if your key snaps!

At 10 years of LPG have you have the LPG system serviced yet? The evaporator may have issues with the diaphragm. If it’s been ran predominantly on LPG I would be surprised it’s had any chance to build up carbon? what state are the plugs in? Check plugs for worn electrodes and if you can check the ignition leads too. Both can lead to backfire on LPG. As can valve clearances!

Toe out by the look of it, could be tracking? But could also be worn bushes or a bearing! Even when bushes LOOK good they can still be shot enough to cause the wishbone to move under torque.

To be fair, I had the old mk1 fiesta with chain, great engine and never needed anything other than basic servicing. I had the new all singing all dancing chain driven Vauxhall engine and it needed 3 chains in less than 60k I think they are naff! the Suzuki wagon R was chain too and was like the fiesta, kept going but eventually at around 90k developed a chain rattle. I am old school and prefer belts! Easier to get at to change for me! No having to use cam locking tools etc to carry out the change either! But that’s just MY take.

If your in a cul-de-sac and there have been multiple car thefts, can you not approach the council to have the road trines into a private one, and as such have a security barrier installed? Just a thought!

I have the same issues. I think they should pass legislation that all installers should fit mesh or a similar barrier upon installation of panels. It’s a major problem that can be construed as a health risk. I have an idea for mine using threaded rods between the alloy supports. If I drill through the support just at the height of the tile ridge and secure a threaded rod through them, it should close the gap to half of what it is and prevent the pigeons getting in.

Secure the gaps under the panels to prevent them nesting! It will take time, but when they know they can’t nest, they tend to move on.

I do enjoy fixing things, this car is so darn easy to work on! It’s just the weather that’s an issue as I have to work on it outdoors.

Well thank the off side done now too! Used the wheel as I said, made it easier to remove the drum and hub as a complete set! Heck of a lip on the drum which I ground off as best I could. Needs new drums which I will order next week when paid. But for now the cables are done! New drums are only £28 for the set so cheap as chips really.

I run mine in a cupboard with a LCD monitor going 24-7 and connected to the router to allow remote viewing anywhere in the world. mine cost around £3.50 a month all in.

Had a Kia stinger GT line overtake me today

Well done the nearside in under 20 mins, wheel off, hub off, extract the old cable, unhook the cable from the hangers, disengage from the handbrake lever and slip the old cable out! Reversal to fit new one nice and easy. Got to the off side. Wheel off is as far as I got! The drum won’t come off, the wind picked up and the temp dropped like a stone. So popped the wheel back on and left it until tomorrow! Going to leave the wheel on, remove the hub nut and use the wheel to help me remove the entire assembly. If that fails I will have to punch the shoe retainers out from the back and allow the shoes to fold when I pull the drum off. Going to be an interesting day tomorrow

I made the mistake of topping up with water every time the pressure dropped, putting it down to a leak! It WAS a leak, but not a water one! I noticed one day the pressure guage went into the red when the heating was on! Dropped the water via the full valve and re pressured the expansion vessel using a bike pump. Now I have replaced the shrader valve and it’s perfect!

I had the 2004 Suzuki Wagon R 1.3 and it’s fuel efficiency was very surprising. The car was a little pocket rocket and handled well for what could be described as a bread box on wheels. It towed my caravan down to the cotswolds and still returned around 40mpg. The Panda 1.2 I have now is too weak to tow @60hp as opposed to the 90hp of the wagon R. MPG on the Panda is exceptional if you drive like an undertaker! But it’s still quite a capable little car. Not a patch on the wagon R performance, but adequate.
