  1. We don't have issues here, only people who have issues are from people that don't use it.
  2. Well I have got this for Christmas, wife has wrapped it up, only after me watching it about 4 times. So it's seems in a different format to the rest, a bit here and there. I can imagine it being very difficult trying to capture it all on film especially the action and the long waits. The fenland parts for me were the most interesting, would have been good to give the viewer more of an idea of the immense size of the Wash. Great day on the Washes, what interested me was what socks where the chaps wearing standing in water all day, my feet usually feel like they are going to fall off. As for the reloading area....wonderful. Really enjoyed it overall although the Canada goose shooting was a bit out of place.
  3. If you are in Leigh on Sea, then join that club which is part of KWA. You may well have permission on the land, but the marsh might be part of Leigh's land. You seem new to it so learn the quarry first and joining the Leigh Wildfowlers will help with that.
  4. Can you bring them along to tonight's raffle please Paul.
  5. We run a few gundog scurries at local shows. Essex Young Farmers and Blackwater show, we get all dogs types involved, non working as well and we run our own dogs to show the public what they are used for, so will run them on a blind and seen marks. We run a competition but it's all just some fun for people to get involved with.
  6. No one can guarantee you shooting wild birds, they are wild birds and will do what they want. You can go to the right areas but even then they might not like something and be put off. Join a wildfowling club that has Pinks and get out with people there.
  7. His lab is about as strong headed as mine, mine will do the same especially with dummies or at shows.
  8. Ask yourself this question, do pigeons decoy into a field they aren't feeding on? Will different geese sit in the same field and feed on the same food, they do. The birds just didn't want to be in that field.
  9. They have out smarted you...lol
  10. My dog will run in, he will stand and watch a bird, if it comes down further, he will go after it, like some steel shot birds do. If I shoot 2 birds he will go for the further one. He will catch divers by treading water and waiting for them to surface again. If I shoot a bird in the dark while I am in a creek he will pick it while I am clueless to where it fell. He tracks runners across mud and creeks for quite a distance and pick birds I think I have missed. He will sit in the hide all day and then run around the marsh like a nutcase when we finish. He is not great for shooting with other dogs but won't fight over a retrieve. Other people would think he is a pain and badly trained(which he is), but I wouldn't have retrieved or found half the birds without him, he knows his job and relying on me to point him in the right direction all the time would be no help to me.
  11. Don't survive well in the UK do they? They haven't even been reintroduced yet.....
  12. Hi About to buy sound reloading supplies, does anyone know which wads people are using in the RSI or Alliant data for HW13. Sam 1s or the multi metal? This is for the 12, I have both wads for the 10bore Thanks
  13. You meet the people in the club at their meeting place. You pay money to join. Do some id tests. Taken out by people on a marsh or some, see if you like it and you can cope on the marsh. If you are good with all this and you like it, you can go on your own on the marsh, usually you will help at out work parties/clay shoots/events, throughout the year/offseason. Then you get to go through various expensive and cheap guns, have arguments with wife/partner about going shooting/getting another dog/ buying guns, want to join more clubs and shoot more/more arguments with wife/partner about spending money/time. You then can continue doing this until you give up shooting/shooting is banned/ your life expires, that is how it would end.
  14. Not sure where you get your ridiculous accusation of racism from.....? Most of the immigrants have been the same race!
  15. Happened a few times on my own, you end up getting very muddy...lol
  16. Yeah, I spoke to him at the Game fair, nice chap and good to talk to as seems to be a fellow wildfowling nutcase. Like the ideas he has with the boats shame I don't have the access to places to use one.
  17. Sounds a good day. Are these Canada geese? Did you get to do any stalking over there?
  18. I have no problem getting rid of all the geese I shoot.....nom nom... Very versatile bird and great tasting, can be a great substitute of all kinds of things.
  19. Nice one. Have you completed the list now? After shooting one shoveller it might be the last after tasting it, very strong liver taste.
