Just a personal observation........In order to support their views, and give an argument credence, those with a left wing labour bent, quote from the left wing labour supporting press/sources/media......those with the other/opposing political views, quote from the press/sources/media which supports their views!........none of it is impartial, it’s all spin and propaganda, churned out by a biased source, from a biased media, in order to brainwash/persuade joe public into supporting a particular political dogma! Together with a healthy dose of cynicism, this is an observation which I submit, supports this threads title!

Watched the D Day flight whilst in Eastbourne last year, Dakotas accompanied by a squadron of Spitfires and Hurricanes, what a fantastic sight!

Fibatube blanks were sold by Hardy....I think, when they were part of the Harris and Sheldon group? I assembled a fibatube 2 piece 10ft spinning rod from a kit, purchased from McHardy of Carlisle, with fugi rings and reel fittings....it was a great rod! And my main Salmon spinner for many years, I caught lots of Salmon on it! Unfortunately I broke the top joint trying to release a spinner, when snagged on the bottom! 😥 I ordered a new blank from Hardy’s, to collect on my way up to Tweed..........when I got there, the price they wanted (for what it was) was eye watering! I ended up purchasing a reduced, sale price, Hardy perfection, 3 piece spinning rod, for not a lot more money than they wanted for the fibatube blank!....the missus, bought it me as an early birthday present! I still use it to this day......well I will, hopefully, after the Corvid19 lockdown is lifted 😃

Are there any British blank manufacturers left? Or are all blanks now made in the Far East?.............Weren’t Diawa rods made in Scotland at one time?
