:unsure: well done tom i found it hard work to start with couldn;t find a pigeon until last place but knew some was there

i only got out late today had other things on.i had a look at field i shot last week. i had a look yesterday actually and thought a bit of wind tomorrow and i should get a few so set up for 3pm had birds in after 5 mins they came steady for 3 hours and i shot brilliantly if i say so meself brought 6 down george digweed would of been proud of :unsure: but seriously enjoyed it very much picked 38 lost 2 hit. another 4 missed. 3. also young woodie next to gun not been off nest very long with look of it

ok get the jist of it now only joined feb this year so still learning the ropes add 509 to 9244 and anymore that have been shot since last saturday

a bit belated only just seen your post but well done again i have same experience 4 pea fields same farm shoots are up but just a few on em but think they will build up after drillings have finished.

looks a lovely gun and a side by side when everyone seems to go for a o/u nowadays

good day out dont want to come across as the expert but your shot wont carry 500 yards at most 350 and the upwards shots you mentioned are driven or overhead targets and we all miss and hit birds that fly on and 31 is a good bag any day of the week

:nice afternoons sport and i do find it interesting it does resemble a sown pea and to think somebody else has shot over that bit of land but for totally different reasons

well done again guys good bag and a good day wi sounds of it

had a look at some wheat and oat drillings on me local permission yesterday at 3.30pm and good numbers flighting across both fields;trouble was farm over the boundary had put wheat in and needless to say thats where the birds were heading for so thought i would come back today and see if i could intercept a flightline so arrived at 11am watched for a while then set up;had a few come in to decoys but again most heading for neighbouring farm fields until two guys walked down hedgerow with gear on there backs and began setting up on said fields they had alot of shooting i was getting the odd one or two.so decided to move site nearer to flightline and it payed off shot around 30 in 2hrs plus 10 from previous site;was joined by me old fella towards the end of the session and between us put another 17 in the bag with a few birds we both knocked feathers out of also lost 4 birds that we seen come down but couldnt find total 57 picked 4 lost

you bet with a backdrop like that mate it would have been a pleasure just to be there

i had a similar experience with 2 in a hide we was taking it in turn to shoot one gun broke without shells whilst the other shot doing it by the book but this one moment after he had taken his shot he sat down before breaking his gun and his seat collasped under him he fell backwards with a loaded gun still in his hand; i seen it happening luckily and grabbed the gun as he fell and held onto it with barrels pointing upwards anyway no matter how safe you are unpredictable things like this can happen but thats a one off for me but sure of other incidents like this have occured across the board; always saftey first. OF ALL THE PHEASANTS EVER BRED WONT MAKE UP FOR ONE MAN DEAD.
