My brother in law shot at a smallbore club for 20odd years without having a fac. He owned his own gun which was kept at the club. Is this still possible?

We have had this one. We at the time were too old to require a licence.

As from today Canada has banned all assault type weapons. It is illegal to buy sell trade or gift these weapons. All have to be gone within a two year period. Compensations will be made. The PM said such weapons were designed only to kill the maxim amount of people in the shortest time and there was no place for them in society.

You have I fear lots of time to sort it out as FEOs all over the UK have shut down as far as new SGC applications apply. Derbyshire have even said the phone lines are closed.

That card could be even older. I well remember, "never likely to forget". My first job after leaving school as an apprentice printer. An order had been completed for 5000 of these cards, printed and die cut. One hole had not been cut out, the die had broke I was given a punch and a hammer. If I remember correctly it took me several days and sore fingers. This was 1950.

There just has to be constant change in guns and cartridges, the combinations are endless. From barrel dia and length to chamber size and all sorts of weird cartridges, a lot copied from our shooting friends across the big pond. The reason---------- to sell guns and cartridges. I have shot with Mr London Best with his old fashioned light guns, light loads and true cylinder barrels with 65mm chambers and there aint a lot he misses at any range. Go with the flow and enjoy but don't knock the tried and tested. IMHO of course.

Going to be a very quiet 65th wedding anniversary today for my wife and I. Usually go out for a meal with the family and enjoy the grandchildren. Lets hope we can make up for it on the next one.

Would not think it makes a lot of difference. I have a Hawthorn stick given to me by Colin Christian "Stickmaker to the Queen" and it's as straight as a billiard cue. Just looks class!
