I'm intrigued as to why you say that it is correct. well partly the action is Sako. "Delburt" kind sir i have no problem people questioning safety its good that people do. But i hope you now have a better understanding and have took something from this open forum with regards to, not only your's but other peoples regard to safety. Thank you. and well done for pointing it out. would i do it again If i took the same precautions as i did before then yes.

There's just no hope for some folk is there. maybe if the shot was taken showing nothing but grass for 100yds all around, there maybe the small chance there was a leprechaun and his family would be having a picnic near by.

Good of you for thinking safety there I cant fault you for being cautious, maybe you would not have took the shot because you dont know who was behind the "bush" well it is infact quite deep "bush" and as i had only 30 minutes before drove down that hedge line i knew there was nobody there, and when i say "drove down" i was doing around 3mph, i have clear view from the right and left. There is no public right of way in that area either, i would have been called by the farmer if any other person was heading that way, i have PIR detectors at 3 points set up before shooting, these were set out for later that evening to alert me of Fox's passing as that is a path that is used.(previous knowledge of the land) If they had been triggered i would have refrained from taking the shot. I work with H&S, issue briefs every night, pushing for DRA's to be carried out by every one of 54 staff i supervise. I am not knocking you for your comment but the thing is you dont know all of the details, the lay of the land, or did not know the risk assessment i had taken into account, if you see the other clip you wull see that the hedge line was directly infront of the shot giving me full view of each side of the hedge, thus enabling me to see anyone approaching from either side. I hope this makes you feel happier Oh! and by the way it was a cock pheasant. and no i didnt see it under the hedge, earlier it was in the field on the righ hand side just buy that pile of hedge cutting, and the 18inch bucket off a JCB

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G97_cSmluwg not sure if it will work 1st time Anyway the info. 22.250-55grn nosler -37.5grn H380 vel 3850 targets were 375 yards off wind from 10 oclock 5mph with gusts up to 11mph. I had previously shot one from the tree hence the other Magpies mobbing around but forgot to switch on the camcorder. Now ive got to grips with this uploading i'll take the camcorder out more often. I'm just waiting for another to upload to show the spot i was shooting from, i will add to posts asap

Nice going Simon The 22.250 would not really have been up to that to be honest, its a good job you opted for the bigger cal. One good thing though is that i can see why those cheap 2nd's £75 calls were not of the same quality as the ones next door if thats all they call in
-
I have one too, it work's well, but as above sometimes it may not be the best call on the night. Do I regret buying it No, Do I regret not looking on the next stand at Weston Yes ;-( £25 less according to Simon

That's a good chunky fox, well done. It just goes to show, if you show productivity it pays off. Maybe your reward maybe more than just a few pigeons. That 1 could be worth 10 on your original perms

It's not normally an issue regarding the EU passport I need one for later this year, I will give them a ring Monday and see how long it takes

If you insist on giving your dog bones avoid some of the more brittle beef bones, rib or blade. it can be a costly exersise having them removed from the intestine by a veterinary surgeon. Knuckle marrow or neck bones would be my choice.if at all. Would dogs eat bones in a natural enviroment

FAC or not 177 or 22 If your going for a FAC then i would suggest you go for a 22, due to shot count being higher than FAC 177. If your going sub 12ft/lb then it makes no odds whether its either 22 or 177, it needs to be in the correct place for a clean kill with either. If you do go FAC then the shot count will vary with different makes of rifle you need to see wich suits you best, and of course your budget. Some of the replies you get on here are from funny old men who like to big up themselves for some reason, maybe there only small and got picked on at school or maybe there hen pecked who knows, But i'm sure they mean no harm there just misunderstood.

I spoke to Julian after being told it would be 2-3 week's, 5 weeks past, I was told it would be with me the end of the week. (That was week 5 ) rang the following Monday, I explained that having an archer would be nice, although I could survive without one as I had for umpteen year's. The ball was in there court if they wanted 1600 of my money then get one to me ASAP or cancel the order. Simple. I received it 2 days later, if I had of been told it would take 2 month's then fine but I will not take bs off anyone, I am a paying customer keeping them in a job.

the satellite,s are easily distinguished by there consistent speed and line of flight. I saw a very bright shooting star earlier this year that was in the nationals, it was an amazing sight, quite often I see them whilst out foxing. Always too quick to get a photograph.
-
you would not tell the diffrence, it was sniper system's, he knocked me a bit off :good:but then i suppose he put it back on the caller
-
I will give it another try out this weekend on a different patch and see what it brings out. That will give me a better idea of its usefullness and compare it with my DIY jobby, I think those next door for £75 were old stock, ive got the NEW SHINY one 2013 model Oh! and a "bestfox call" caller thrown in Oh! forgot a new Bi pod off them for £50

Deer like eating them. amanita muscaria was going to say found round Birch trees but too late. Not the sort to have with you breakfast not as toxic as some others though, but could make you feel rather unwell, or make you want to fly to the moon. on a loli pop stick

Simon your beating me, Not sure how many ive had this year, i know i had a slow start. ill need to spend more time out in the field and less time in the pub, mind you i quiet enjoy being out from 20.00 till around 23.00 and just popping in for a quicky on the way home. Nice going though, seems the last 2 had a bit of a face off. Just looked again at the top picture--- did you shoot the tail off it

How can you tell if they have ripened

And i thought i got mine a tenner cheaper I may possibly sell the other caller ive been using, its an Ipod Nano 16g and "altec" station with a few calls on. Jury still out on that.
-
Its an ICOtech (I think)I got it for 90 at weston, its proved quite successful so far.

Its almost like cheating isn't it. ;-)

Following a text off a farmer asking if I could pop round and try and sort out a fox that had cleared out a neighbour's chickens I thought ide better get myself over there. I put the caller in a tree around 70yds out, got up on some hay bails caller on and waited. Half an hour later and this fox appeared under the bails and sniffing towards the caller, its as if it had been in the bails Very possible,,,, mounted the archer onto the scope by this time it was about 70 -80 yds out and going away from me so a little squeak from me it turned giving the chance of a broad side shot, job done another one to the archer. 4 nights at work now will gjve them a rest till Friday night
-
Very good, but the firefly might get removed and swapped for a led I find it draws attention from the fox's, Ive had 3 bolt now out of 5 nights out but they don't see anything from the NM800ir.
