  1. I was out again the other day with my cousin helping him with his lobster creels, we got this two lobsters and about 20 good big crabs. Just thought I would share this pic of my 3 fascinated boys who scoffed them up with some fresh mackerel for their tea.
  2. I opened a shell once and found a mixture of 4's 3's and BB's it was meant to be no 3's.
  3. Oil tends to gather dust and carp, I usually use silicone spray something like this http://www.tools-paint.com/rocol-precision-silicone-spray-8493-p.asp
  4. I was brought up going to church surrounded by a christian family which I am thankful for because I personally feel it taught me right from wrong and gave me some morals on which to lead a life that is IMO good. By good I don't mean better than anyone else but good as in ,do unto others as you would have done to yourself, which is something I strive to do but all to often fail. I think about that bible verse a lot and feel that it almost sums up the christian religion. I would love to live in a world where everyone lived by that verse.
  5. I am a builder and I have been tested like this a couple of times.
  6. I found that the crimp die helped with accuracy in both my .223 and the hornet.
  7. All my empties end up in the bin when shooting clays, even when using the auto. When hunting I do my utmost to pick up all the empties I can find.
  8. I voted yes. I really don't understand the thinking behind the English rules compaired to our Scottish rules, to me the Scottish rules make perfect sense.

    BBQ

Bananas on a BBQ is just wrong don't do it. The only thing that should be cooked on a BBQ is meat, meat and meat

    Sx3

I have had the spring in the piston go on mine twice but my SX3 is used a lot, and the only times my SX3 has failed to cycle it has been due to lack of cleaning. If I was buying another auto it would certainly be an SX3.
  11. Yeah, just laid in and covered with salt for 5-6 days and dried and frozen. Eaten fresh it's not as good as cod or haddock, I suppose its a poor mans cod.
  12. I got it from my RFD for £1450 which was cheaper than I could find to order myself, here is a couple of pics.
  13. Just been and picked up my new scope to replace the leupold vx3 6.5-20 thats on my .223, the leupold is a good scope and the target turrets are perfect but the cross hair is too fine for lamping with the red filter. After some pondering and head scratching I ordered a nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56, it is huge it kind of swamps my wee A-bolt ha ha. Can't wait until I get a calm day to get it zeroed and have a play with it
  14. I can't fault neither my A-bolt or the tikka. The A-bolt is very cheap starting around £500 new.
  15. I have the battery powered LRF 600, I cant fault it but then again it's the only range finder I have owned so I have nothing to compare it to. I use mine with the .223 with great success, it does all I ask of it.
  16. Could this be an option? I havn't had any dealings with the new webly and scott guns but its a nice looking gun. http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Webley-Scott_Shotgun_900_For-Sale_101126165031002
  17. Could the barrel fowling up with black powder crud also tighten it up too? Just remembering what a workmate said about his muzzle loading .577, the dirtier it got the harder it was to push the ball home and the stiffer the recoil became.
  18. I had an old 2 5/8 hammer 10 bore for a while which I loved, I used it for both ducks and geese. I got it with a few boxes of old paper eley kynoch no4 and BB which worked fine but mostly at normal 12 bore ranges. The other 10 bore I have used was my friends purdey using 3 1/2 BB which was mustard on geese. Going on my little experience with 10 bores I would have one over the 12 anytime IF feeding it was easier and as cheap as the 12. I suppose reloading is the answer, a nice light load for duck at night, a heavier duck load for flighting duck and a good thumper for stopping geese. I would like a gun along the lines of my friends purdey, heavy enough to soak up a lot of the recoil of the heavy shells but light enough to not be a burden like some his bigger guns.
  19. Titan reloading might be worth a look, that's where I get my lee stuff from.
