1. Definitely buy one of the ones recommended above, 80 psi will overheat and kill any of the cheap ones, I got a all metal one for under £30 when maplin closed down and it will just about do a 15” 4x4 tyre without getting too hot so anything more and spending the extra will ensure you don’t buy twice. oh and cigar lighter ones will probably blow the fuse so go straight for one that clips onto the battery.
2. Thanks guys, ordered a pot of it online. Never even herd of the stuff until now, this place is really a wealth of knowledge!
3. Hi I now have a old antique single barrel percussion gun that I will be mounting on the wall, it’s well pitted and has some rust and I need to stop the rust and give it a long lasting protective finish. What would be best on the metal work, give it a wire wool rub and normal gun oil or is there a better way to protect it.
4. One of the other half’s friends is a gp and she was bragging about all the lgbt courses and awareness courses she had been on, sounded like she had not seen any patients for months! im actually scared of getting ill enough to need to see someone.
5. I would of thought some smarty pants would have made a pressure monitor like what they fit in car tyres but higher pressure and have a little monitor that fits onto the outside of the rifle for a accurate pressure reading.
6. It could be the bottom of the trigger that’s cutting you, baikals are known for this, a few licks with a file on the bottom edge normally sorts it out.
7. Sorry valves seem hard to find these days, looking at the bottle valve if you have not had it apart then it looks like it could have been apart before or an attempt has been made to get it apart so best bet might be if you can get the valve out before buying a new valve and then finding it’s stuck! If it won’t come apart it might be easier to get a new bottle and valve given if it’s a early model the bottle will be quite old anyway.
8. There is not much to them, if the seals are good on the gun then the bottle valve might be causing it to go funny but I would just expect it to leak. They come apart easy and I think there is only a couple of seals on the gun itself. if you don’t get anywhere with it I think I still have a .22 barrel here if you wanted to try it with that and see if it flattens out the power.
9. Just imagine the conversation to the insurance company, sir do you have any modifications, well there is a small gun turret on the roof…..
10. All you need now is a nice baikal side by side or if you want to go all out then get the hammer gun. Side by side anchors are soo nice!
11. I do however own a snow foam attachment, it came from pro Kleen and it’s pretty good even on my little karcher I got it for the other half’s car to make cleaning a bit more fun, it’s no easier than normal washing but it does get a good amount of detergent all over the body then rub down and rinse.
12. The dirt hides all the rust on mine…….
13. Right I think I get it now, so would the shaft pass through the tail stock and be held in just on the end bit and the wheel at the other end is used for tightening the collet up?
14. As per title, it came in a box of lathe related bits and have no idea what it is, it has a collet on one end and it screws up by hand. any ideas as to what this thing could be?
15. I would have a new one if only they would make it with the steering wheel on the right side! Until then I shall be welding mine till the end of days.
16. Having a clear out and found these, I don’t need them so if anyone wants them then I would swap them for some light 21-24g 12 bore clay carts or cash money £40 no idea of actual amount but must be around 200 in there and about 30 28 bore. based in pudsey West Yorkshire and work close to skipton Hopefully this works, pictures.
17. Emley moor is shutting down its shoot too so it’s four now that are in jeopardy.
18. I am in two minds about pads that fit into the vest, yes I use one on and one time I did not wear the vest I had no difference in feel I can only put down to being able to seat and feel the guns butt better into my shoulder. still undecided and need more shooting with and without and with COVID I have not been shooting much.
19. Don’t know about air con but had a alternator seize on a 5 rib flat belt and it just slipped the belt until I noticed the burning rubber smell and had a look under the bonnet.
20. This is the best stuff for bare metal, been using it for years now and even when the topcoat gets worn away this base layer holds firm, it’s a pig to mix it’s soo thick but a drill mixer gets it done. https://www.rustins.ltd/rustins/our-products/speciality-paints/anti-corrosion-metal-primer failing that apparently you can get real red lead from specialty boat places.
21. New type of decoying, bring a freshly painted fence panel into the field.
22. If you can find a local fire extinguisher company then if you ask nicely then they may sell a couple of co2 extinguishers that are out of test cheap. As said don’t use water but if things go really wrong then a hose pipe is going to save the day (from experience see notes on carpets below) if you are welding anywhere near any of the internal structure then remove carpets and sound deadening also. And finally check for wires they always seem to be hiding right where you are welding! once done park it away from anything you cherish and check every hour for a couple of hours to make sure nothing is smouldering, I try and leave mine overnight away from the house, garage etc just in case as there is normally a lot of residual heat.
