  1. Off left shoulder, both eyes open. 525 LH BPS Ambi Webley & Scott 3.5" Semi LH. (lastic fantastic for poor conditions) David
  2. Sorry to jump to conclusions. David.
  3. Only because there is little choice. Why should they have to accept second best. I assume you are right eye dominant so don't have a problem. Not really a great advert for making things easier for other shooters. David.
  4. Well size isn't the only determinant, I used to know a little old lady, probably less than 7 stone soaking wet whose rifle of choice was a 300 H & H magnum and believe me they have to mounted properly and controlled properly. I am afraid that is the answer. Take her to see a good instructor who will have a range of sizes and calibres to try. David,
  5. It would be a good plan for Browning. I have heard that 10% of shooters have a left dominant eye so the market is reasonable. Shouldn't be too difficult with computer controlled machining. To be fair, Browning do make a very nice ambidextrous pump! They just don't bother to list it in the UK!!!! David.
  6. No safety check is completely infallible. All one can do is reduce risk, not eliminate it completely. David.
  7. Well it can happen to any manufacturer, A flaw in the barrel could survive proof and only succumb to cumulative stress. Fatigue around a flaw which causes a stress raiser is pretty complicaed but also fairly inevitable. David.
  8. I hear that Beretta has finally decided to cater for lefties in a semi. Anybody else heard this? David.
  9. I knew someone who had a .416 listed for AOLQ. It is possible. Rifle like that get all your papers in order and have it for Boar and AOLQ. Good luck. David.
  10. Have you looked at a Browning 525, good reliable gun and usually slightly longer in the stock than a Beretta. This is not meant to kick off the Browning/Beretta argument. David.
  11. In Switzerland, the parliament only sits for a very short time so they only can deal with the important stuff. Also they don't pay them very much so they have to have a real job and are only doing it because they want to make a difference! I know about paying peanuts etc. but compared to the average salary it isn't peanuts and the attached gravy train is pretty good. David.
  12. If it comes to Browning/Miroku/Beretta argument, they are all good. Just make sure you get one that fits and shoots where you look. David.
  13. Benelli do some superb true left handers. Some would say even better than a Beretta. David.
  14. The Jimny is very good off-road if you need it. Also it is a good vehicle for training a new driver. It doesn't really have any performance to talk about so you have to learn to read the traffic and maintain smooth progress. A skill that will stand you in really good stead for the rest of your driving life. Go for it and have fun. David.
  15. It is illegal. I do think that as a matter of principle that you shouldn't shoot more than you can consume. We are giving ammunition to the antis if we do shoot more than is consumed. Why don't you try one of the food banks/soup kitchens/salvation army in your are. They might be pleased to use them if you prepared them. I think this is a use it or lose it situation. Use the game or we will all lose the righ to shoot! David.
  16. 7 x 64 preceded the 270 and does everything slightly better in my opinion. Shoots heavier rounds which have a super BC that aren't available in 270. David.
  17. Pretty much all the land I shoot over is fibre only, so I don't keep plastic wads in the place. Means I won't get caught out. Maybe if you can outshoot Peter Wilson and George Digweed the difference counts. David.
  18. Add a 7 x 64. Just because it is a lovely classic calibre. David.
  19. Never tried it but if John (Webber) sells it I should think it is very good. Good guy there. David.
  20. Well we are probably reaping the fruits of Tony Blair's adventures of trying to be a hard man!! David.
  21. I find it all a bit incredible. The government has more powers than that of the 1939 - 1945 period! If you think of the risks posed by Hitler and his minions over this period it is time we worried about our freedoms! David.
  22. The SuperNova is a great bit of kit. The other thing you have forgotten is the Browning Pump. I have one it is great. Proper safety mounted where you would expect it to be, on the tang. Bottom eject so it is ambidextrous. Worth a look. David.
  23. If you read the individual club conditions in the book you will often find that as a newbie you will be guided anyway. It isn't in the club's interest to let anybody out there who they don't know. If the information isn't obvious phone the number they give and chat. David.
  24. Don't know if it would solve your problem but the slider switch for a chainsaw might be OK. Pretty robust too. David.
