Not so. They are very useful in the right application. The heating side is outstanding and, if the rest of the system is designed with a combi in mind the domestic water side is ok. People go on about how you will never get a power shower with a combi. Well, that's true, however use a mixer designed to be used with a combi and you'll still get a very acceptable shower, certainly far better than any electric shower I've come across. It's a matter of pros and cons, and the pros often outweigh the negatives.

NiCads unfortunately develop memory and eventually stop charging, end of cell. Last time around I upgraded to an 18v Makita drill with NiMh cells. Not cheap but a marked improvement. Worth the money if you decide to get another drill.

Use 7.5's personally in 24g, do the job for sure.

Agreed, just sounded as though Mr Kelly was getting 3k+ for a boiler swap, which down here is 2k for a pig of a change and less for a 'normal' swap! We can do a Vaillant Ecotec within sensible parameters for about 1800 quid (plus the dreaded) generally.

Likewise. I am also an installer and would fit a Vaillant every time given the choice. We are accredited Vaillant and Worcester installers and will happily fit both, BUT, given the choice... *Gulp*! £3500 for a boiler swap? Two days work? I suppose if you are getting it then why not, we wouldn't get too many at that price in Brighton though.

Multishot for the reasons detailed already. .177 for me, I find it easier to shoot and more forgiving for less than perfect ranging. In other words I like clean kills and the vast majority are with my .177. When I tried a Daystate Huntsman in .22, I found I could group it well at a known range but got a lower percentage of clean kills due to being slightly high or low as a result of being a bit out on ranging. I could have bought a laser ranger but, sold the Daystate and bought another .177 which solved the problem for me. The .177s? Both AirArms, first was a S400 and my current love, the S510...lush!

Hi Evan, thanks but... Shoot is covered at the moment anyway as it says above. Sorry if this sounds a bit short, but you are probably the tenth person to find Pigeonwatch and start messaging with a zero or slightly better post count. It's always good to read the previous posts on a thread first.

Only once, which as a sub-contractor is no mean feat. Started a new 'job' and it took 11 days, and it wasn't because I wasn't capable, willing, qualified or any other reason relating to my ability to do the job. It was because the owner of the company I was subbing to was a smack head and control freak. When he found out I wasn't going to grovel at his feet and be forever thankful that he'd given me a job he let me go. I wasn't going to be working with him directly so you'd think really he'd be interested in my ability to do what was required, which he freely admitted I was, but no, it was a 'clash of personalities'. Didn't even have the decency to tell me direct. His party trick was to go home, get high and paranoid and then start ringing around people giving them grief, that's how he let me go. I asked whether I was working until the end of the week, 'No, effective immediately, don't come in tomorrow', 'Will I get paid any notice?' I asked, 'I don't pay people not to work'! What a complete bell end, lucky escape I suspect!

It's less the finish, it's the hoofing great wood ridge where it meets the metal. The Bettinsolis are more smoothed into the metal work.
