  1. On the sodden fields of Flodden, was the tartan army found. Then the Scottish pack were trodden into solid English ground. Flodden then - now Twickenham! Yeoman hearts will never fail, and England - O my England, once again we shall prevail. As we fall upon the ancient foe, 'til strength and life departs. Crying "On, England, on to glory!", and break their Scottish hearts!" Then our triumphant victory hour will proclaim what every Scotsman knows. Which is the Union's fairest flower? Not the Thistle, but the Rose!
  2. Sorry Ghosty fella, was't having a go at you. My post was in response to Night searchers question. I can't really help you with spring rifles, I only shoot PCP's and have done since I came back into shooting. My last springer was a BSA Meteor!
  3. Another thread asking for opinions in choosing between a AirArms and a BSA. Two thirds of the replies positively in favour of the AirArms...so the OP goes out and buys a BSA. Just seemed a bit pointless asking and even more pointless replying!
  4. Always worrying times and I sincerely hope things go your way. Although i don't know you, you come across as a gent and generally nice guy. The best of luck for you both.
  5. But it looks rather odd, and there doesn't appear to be a UK supplier.
  6. Having just looked at it, I can see uses for 9 of the bottom line and 6 maybe 7 of the top. which means there are probably 25 or so that I'd never use. For example, the copy and paste tags, I'd never use them, I'd just highlight the text and right click it. Link to Twitter? What would you put on here that you'd want to share with the imbecilic Twitterati?
  7. No, you are quite right to feel threatened by a real, masculine gun. You're obviously not man enough to be able to handle one as your homophobic comment demonstrates!
  8. Yep, and each one pinpoint accurate and deadly! It's turrible! I've never yet had to refill a PCP mid hunt with one noatble exception...a BSA Ultra! To be fair, there's nowt wrong with BSA's, it's just that in MY opinion, they aren't as good as the AirArms guns. Seems quite a few agree though.
  9. You should have a go with one, it's like shooting a 410, but even better! Just not as good as a S410 the majority seem to feel.
  10. Which just goes to prove the point. I had a Beretta 682 that I didn't get on with and bought a Browning 525 which I do get on with!
  11. Ooops, 4 people at least don't like the way you operate, and that's enough for me to steer well clear I'm afraid.
  12. ...or just go the whole hog and skip the 410... ...and buy a 510! I absolutely LOVE mine!
  13. Ok, I'm thinking that your talking about maintaing that wee bit of peripheral vision above the dot then to allow you to pick up the bird slightly earlier? I don't seem to have an issue with most birds as the dot obscures an area above my vision when my hed is in a neutral position, I'll have to be aware of it next time shooting overheads and see if it has an effect.
  14. Had both, AirArms S410 all day long.
  15. Southdown is a 'soft' ground? Christ on a bike, I may just have to give this malarkey up! I mainly shoot at Northall which isn't as difficult as Southdown and I really struggled with the long presentations at Southdown.
  16. Que? I suspect I am about to be edumacated a little further, but what do you mean by that part of your comment? Does 'dotting' your glasses alter the perception of overhead/driven birds?
  17. Good on you for that, far better than just dropping some loose change on his lap!
  18. Haha, welcome to my world buddy! All I can say is that it makes it all the sweeter when do you finally get under some birds!
  19. They didn't kill him, he was still alive but unconcious when the Police arrived. He died due to an existing medical condition that was aggravated by being held down, or so says the article. If he wasn't attempting an armed robbery, he wouldn't have died that day. I have little sympathy for him if I'm honest.
  20. Agreed, particulary when you have effectively told him that it was blown HG that needed doing. You also, I assume, agreed to the price before he did all the work?
  21. In short, yes, a dot from a stationers would work, but will peel off if it gets wet. It will however tell you what you want to know ie, if it might be a sloution for you. It needs to be positioned so that it blocks off your view of the last few inches and the bead of the barrel. So you can mount the gun, close your left eye and check you are all lined up correctly, then close your right eye and open your left without moving your head or gun. You should be able to see everything but the end of the barrel and whatever else the dot has blocked. I find I can keep most of my periperal vision, and it doesn't impinge when I'm looking at someone. I am looking under it when stood chatting etc.
  22. I would suggest you PM him and get a conversation going re sorting out a meet, a free of charge offer like this won't come up every day mate.
