Personally I've never felt a need to do the burial/ash scattering closure thing. I'm fairly practically minded about it, and had my dog cremated in a group cremation. No ashes back, didn't want them. I prefer to remember my pets in life and as traumatic as having one put down may be, once they're gone it matters not how they are disposed of. I don't want my last memory to be of chucking a shovel full of dirt over it or having what (may be) their remains blown around the countryside, and I really don't gt the 'keep them in a pot on the mantlepiece' brigade. The same applies to me as well. Once my spark goes out then I really don't care how they dispose of me, whatever's cheapest works for me.

You have yet another PM, thanks.

My VW Passat has 3 glow plugs out of six down (saving for new ones!), it similarly runs rough as for a few seconds on start up and blows out smoke. It is kind of white, but not pure white, I'd describe it as more a blue/grey. It doesn't use any oil though. Quite literally, I never need to top it up between oil changes. Still a potential issue?

Rods alone were probably worth the asking price, not surprised these sold. (Would have sold earlier if I'd seen them!)

Are you wanting to try wildfowling next season 2013-14?

I'm potentially looking to join Spalding next season, I have a few friends who shoot with them. -
Glow plug timer or relay duff/glow plugs not being powered. It is a glow plug issue, you just need to establish which bits at fault.

That works if there's only one target. I often find that rabbits will come out of the burrow in twos or threes, and regularly will knock one over and then get a second one that hasn't ben spooked by the pellet strike and it's mate falling over. Don't think that would happen if I was breaking a barrel to reload to be honest. Each to their own and all that, but with air rifles I believe the advantages of a PCP outweigh the disadvantages. That said, I'm looking at springer tomorrow as if it is what they say it is, its too cheap to pass up!

LOL! I would concede that the twin cylinders don't make it the most visually pleasing gun I've seen!
-
Do they make Theoben rifles elsewhere then, otherwise, where will they get new stock? Surely that would be under licence, is that not affected when the original company goes pop?
-
I looked at one and felt it was too heavy for all day use with the twin cylinders and, I didn't feel the extra capacity was really necessary. I have never run out of air in the field yet. Other than that it's a S510 which is great.

Dunno about FAC, but the S510 is a stunning gun. I'm immensley pleased with mine. All I expected and then some.

....and just as a point of interest, I recently went looking for a tilt bipod. I wanted a Deben but it had to be ordered in. So, when it arrived I looked at it and then said "It's not a Deben, I wanted a Deben, please order me one". They did. It came in and I thought it was very similar to the other (Deerhunter I think) one. We put them side by side and compared. Apart from a bit of silicone tubing on the springs, they were identical! We then looked at another and once again, barring a decal, the same thing again. I'm not talking about similar, the were identical! The only discernible difference was the 20 quid price variation, in the end I bought the cheapest one which oddly also came with silicone tubing and was spot on identical to the most expensive Deben. It's still fine 6 months down the line.

I do use snap caps when dry firing which is when I'm practising a mount and track etc. Never use them otherwise, not even when storing the guns.
-
Are you honestly saying that the movement required to cock and reload a springer doesn't spook more quarry than the pull of a cocking lever? If so I'd find that hard to believe, as I've even managed to spook rabbits when recocking the S510! I take on board and accept your comment about cost, but have to add that I've never yet had one of my guns (all PCP's of recent) fail in the field.

What, by Hitler shooting a badly mounted shotgun left handed? You may have misinterpreted cracking for cracked buddy. Live long and prosper!
-
You would!
-
It was a vague attempt at a comedic statement, you know, tongue in cheek, not to be taken seriously, possibly even slightly goading the lefties on PW, in a humourous way... you know, humour, that thing you fairly obviously lack.
-
I rest my case!!!
-
What would you want as a cash sale?
-
Oh go on! It's not like it's been done before ... this month!
-
Even more worryingly, the most powerful man in the World (allegedly) is left handed!!!! We're doomed I tell ya!!!!
-
Now I can see why you are so keen to push it. Can't beat good old fashioned avarice. The idea's been out there a long time it would appear and, I tend to feel that if it was the be all and end all solution to eye dominance issues I think we'd see a lot more in use!
-
Perhaps Matt, you should have gone to the gun shop, handled a few guns, decided on a couple or three and then come and asked the opinion of the collective. As for stuck up, up yours too buddy! I'll not bother answering any future queries of yours.

It's all been said above to be honest. Great, solid air rifle which is vey accurate in the right hands. Plenty of bits of bling from Rowan WHEN you start feeling the need to personalise it. I found mine shot well from 190 bar down to 100 and was most accurate with AirArms Field pellets. Other than that, jut get out there and practicing. You will with enough practice, be able to put 14 shots within the diameter of a 5p piece at 40 yards!
