  1. I suspect Billy may be on the money with this comment. Have you tried these pellets through the gun at the range? If so did you get good tight groupings? My S400 shoots really tight with some pellets and more like a scatter gun with others, it may just be that the gun doesn't 'like' that pellet. If struggling maybe try teh AirArms Fields, they are consistent, lethal and I've not heard an AA's owner yet who said his gun didn't like them. If the answer's yes to both questions then is it possible that the scopes been knocked or similar? It does sound very much that it's a placement or accuracy issue and if you're happy that it shoots straight normally, and you're aiming on target, then it can only be that the scopes off or the pellets aren't flying true.
  2. Oh I dunno, I had a procession of MkI's, MkII's and even MkIII's including an RS Turbo, and of all the Escorts I ran the only one I'd buy again now was the MkII RS2000. For grins per mile that was the one!
  3. O-h-h-h-h-h-h-h, see, you live and learn something new nearly every day.
  4. Keep Rift Valley Ciclids (fish). Both sea and game fishing. Motorbikes, I ride on road but really love my track days. It's the only opportunity to really rip a sports bike, 90 mph seems a whole lot faster when your knee is scraping the tarmac, and flat out genuinely is flat out, on my current bike that's 150mph ish! I spend a lot of time watching the bike racing too. Walking the dogs, normally with DSLR in hand, you never know what you may see while wandering the Sussex countryside and coast. Used to scuba dive but it's taken a back seat atm, you only have so much free time!
  5. Is it ever Pot Noodle O Clock? :o
  6. Yay! An expert at last! Albeit a slightly abrasive one, I knew one would turn up in the end!
  7. I though the bolt handles were handed? ..and looking at the Rowan website they do specify left or right hand?
  8. As far as I know the only bit that became tamperproof was the pressure adjustment screw. It should just be a case of buying a right handed bolt and undoing the screw that holds it on. Have a look at the Rowan Engineering ones, nice and SHINY  ! ...or not depending on what you want! Link to Rowan Engineering
  9. I think quite a few do similar, I do. Must admit that I don't bother to remove the forend. It's in a locked cabinet anyway, surely that's as safe as having the gun in a cabinet with the forend just outside it! Surely you should hide the forend elsewhere if you're that security minded?
  10. So are you going to share the seller?
  11. You say that like it's a bad thing!!!
  12. ...or as you've already found out, cycling the safety on and off will also reset the mechanism. Same in my Bettinsoli.
  13. "Which bottle is best. 232 bar or 300 bar?" 300 bar. Happy to help.
  14. But the punctuation gives it two completely different meanings.
  15. Put the ebay link up please, I may be interested although not at your asking price. I take it you have the MOT failure sheet?
  16. It's a fairly quick report if the truth be known. It's still blowing a hooley down here so we sheltered behind the sea wall as the sun set and a while after, my mentor then took us over the sea wall and onto the foreshore where we loaded up and settled to wait under a full and distractingly bright moon... ...about half an hour passed and then a couple of Mallard passed us wide, a minute or so after that one came between us, he was expecting me to take the shot...and I was expecting him to take it, net result was it was already past before I hastily loosed a barrel at it, and missed. Shooting parameters were established , after that we had half a dozen Teal absolutely rocket through on the wind, three shots were fired at them but they were moving so fast there was still no joy, and that was that for the evening. I enjoyed my self and it was an eye opener with regard to how fast those Teal can shift! But alas, my virginity is still intact!
  17. Your only option other than taking it to a gunsmith is to try and push them back out. Open the bolt but don't cock it and try finding a thin enough rod to try and push them back out. Give it a good clean after if you manage to clear it.
  18. Anal glands blocked? Link is for cockers but relevant to most I'd think... Clicka da link
  19. I have to say, I don't think it is fishable here at the moment, tomorrow however... Monday Rain in places at first but with the rain dying out by mid to late morning to leave a mostly dry and bright afternoon, with some sunny spells developing. Windy generally, though. Monday night Winds will ease but still be quite brisk in places, mainly over hills. Mostly dry with some clear spells and with just a few isolated showers later. Tuesday Sunny intervals, with showers developing, with some of the showers becoming heavy and perhaps thundery. Less windy than today but still quite blustery at times.
  20. Ah,gents, the issue is less one of making a pattern plate rather it's a case of I suspect the Boys in Blue may attend PDQ if I start trying to pattern shells in the middle of a housing estate! My current permissions are paddocks which I can't use the shottie in, or on the marshes which could prove tricky! I do have access to a field in due course but not for a couple of weeks, I was hoping to sort something ASAP as I'm starting out on my 'fowling career this evening. One session I can live with the doubts, many more and it's gonna niggle!!!
  21. Depends which way up you store your gun. Barrels down it's never going to run onto the wood, but if you store the gun butt down...
  22. Looks like patterning is the plan then...just need to find a pattern plate! Anyone know of one around East Sussex? Just tried the two closest grounds (Northall and Southdown) but neither have a plate as yet.
