  6. Have a look at the SCTA site, most details are there if the ground is running, I was at a 100 bird shoot at Central Scotland Shooting ground this year, don't know if it is the same one. Tam on here should be able to answer for sure. chiefy
  7. Was using 24g Fiocchi 7 1/2 at the weekend and they are really nice, minimal recoil and a nice little quick feeling catridge, I normally use Fiocchi Gold Trap the white ones. Another nice new shell is the 27g from Hull and pretty cheap too. cheify
  8. I use a set of specially made plugs from these guys : Look Here Most folk at the ground go for them, they cost just under £100 and are really worth it for there passive version, you can have them made to take I Pod speakers or have electronics etc, you attend a local hearing aid centre and they take a mould of your ears, then collect at a later date. The military are also issueing them to the troops. You can get them in variour colours aswell. chiefy
  9. I bought one 3/4 (black band)Extended Optima choke from John Lyall [mailto:john_lyall_10mv@hotmail.co.uk] for £30 posted, New! Beretta part in clear tube,he also said on the phone, "If any of your shooting buddies are looking for a new IM Optima choke like yours please give them my details. Same deal." I paid him by Pay Pal. I also got a Full choke from Gilsan sports at last years Game Fair for the same, they took one from a Beretta semi they said it's a choke that seldom gets used in a semi auto. chiefy
  10. I have one, well it began life as one, bought it as a .177 custom from Sandwell Field Sports. It was one of fifty they bought to rebrand into their Phantom, well I bought it from them before the major cosmetic change they were to do on it, so it looks as a standard Walnut stocked Longbow with no Longbow name on it, unbranded apart from the barrel which says Webley, the blueing on the fifty guns that SFS bought were re blacked by Venom so it is a lot darker, I then got talking to a man on Airgun BBS who swapped me a Webley Venom shrouded .22 barrel from a Venom Sidewinder if I remember corectly, which has the same double blacking process. So to end up I have a SFS walnut stocked Webley with a Webley Venom.22 shrouded barrel, and very nice it is to. I have also had a Pro Sport, exceptionally fine guy but woh very heavy for the money, and I have had a Fac Rapid(19" barrel)which is the gun of all time, but the Webley is the one I have hung onto. chiefy
  11. Hi Ive been using a Cz452 .22lr Style now for many years, Diamond Mag 44 scope, barrel shortened to 15" then recrowned and rethreaded, Sandwell Field Sports custom moderator, trigger kit from Eric Brookes USA, first one sent to the UK and fitted by myself,Harris Swivel bipod of course,Deben Blue Eye beam lamp, accuracy is that which other rifle makers aspire to and,,,,, it's quieter than a Honda. http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb438/Clanchief1/100_0572.jpg http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb438/Clanchief1/100_0573.jpg Chiefy
  12. Went through this dilema also,no idea I had a problem till a guy thought it strange I hit all crossers from one direction but not the other,I have central vision, so stuck on some surgical tape on my glasses, perfect. Now when I close my right eye with them on my left eye does not see any rib or barrels, this then allows peripheral vision and my right eye has dominance. Oh I now use frosted sellotape placed on the inside as its makes rain or smears easier to wipe clean. chiefy
  13. Hey Highseas, I will be there on Saturday as always, though will be at my truck having a drum up at 12 and a beer or two, my housekeeper drives me home after. Should be a good day as ever.

  15. After all that typing he should have remembered the grey squirrell is not indiginous so therefore is akin to the rainbow trout and can be taken all year round and does not have the same protection. now if we proved there was a fox from america breeding with local foxes we can really let the games begin ? clan solic sacerdobias

  18. I once asked Strathclyde police what its view was on keeping bullets or ammo in the house away from the guns, they said guidelines show that they be kept in a wooden box away from sources of ignition preferebly where ther are no wires etc, i queried the wood they said it doesn't lead to sparks. I was bewildered by that reply clanchief
