  1. Spot the odd one out above,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, yes it's BASC,,,,,,,, the other two look after their members Chiefy,,,,,,,,,! Has now left the building
  2. Knowing you won't have tried locally in Dalry, have you looked west toward Eaglesham ? A Dalgleish may make something for you, or Brownwells website USA ? Chiefy
  3. I would find it hard to defend shooting them under the GL, as crop protection is not going to be an excuse or reason, the racer is not a wild bird as it has an owner therefore it is some ones property as defined in law by the fact it is wearing a ring registered to the owner( easily traceable) and under race conditions a second rubber ring with registration. The flying characteristics are so different it would be like comparing crows with woodies in flight, nothing like them. Chiefy
  4. Wise man, I am on my second. The diff lock is good for off road, and the auto 4x4 works very good, just leave it in that position, and it goes from 2 wheel to 4 or it will go to diff lock if it needs, all by itself. One tip I found that as it has a double clutch, 1st gear can be crunchy at times, so just stick on diff lock and drive for 20 yards or so, this lines things back up again. Chiefy
  5. That's a shame about the dogs, I could do with a hand now and again but need someone with a dog or two as I don't have any due to work. I have very thick cover so cock ers would be good, or a springer. Ideally based in the west or near Dumbarton area.
  6. Hmm,,,,,,,,scum is a bit severe methinks. If you are that upset at someone else cycling whilst you are wheeling your bike along the maybe you are not right in the head. I try as hard as I can to cycle as straight as possible to where I am going, if that means going through car parks, pedestrian only areas then so much the better, now if you have never done anything wrong whilst cycling then fine cast the first stone. But lets face it, it's not really going to bother me or any other cyclist for that matter.
  7. Usually it's a Sony as stated but the smaller digi one, I have a little used HI-8 Sony Camcorder gathering dust but is the size of an eggbox
  8. Just got an X trail 56 plate, only had it a week or so, so far all I can say is the clutch feels heavy, several reports on Xtrail forum the same ,getting a mate to bleed the clutch this weekend, maybe just me getting used to a different car as it's better now, on road very nice to drive, loads of space. Less wallowy than my Range Rover Vogue.
  9. I am getting a friend to bleed the clutch this weekend, do you leave yours set in auto 4wd most of the time ?
  10. Do any of you find the clutch a bit on the heavy side with the bite point quite low down ? Maybe I feel mine is just different from my previous motor and will take a bit of getting used to ?
  11. No not really, every ten years you must update the picture on the license to make it valid, at 70 you must reply to a note to keep your license, same thing next every, 10 years you need to update the picture.Only at 90 after updating photo you will need to do in 3 years to keep the license valid with a new photo, In May when I renew my fathers at age 93 I can update you how long it will be till next photo renew stage, and no he does not have a diabled badge.
  12. Well well I have went and done the same, put a deposit down on one on the 8th at a garage near the Bushwear shop, only went to buy a few bits aswell, should have kept driving by. Hope to get it this Saturday, delays because of the V5 was returned cause the car was on a cherished plate. I am picking up a 56 Plate Xtrail Columbia, Amazon Green, quite a nice rare colour. 57k miles and one lady owner that bought another new one. Been reading the Xtrail forum and getting worried as all they talk about are broken bits, decided to stop looking at the forum as it is ruining the car buy. My houskeeper does have a Vougue she lets me use but not too economical with derv on long shoots. Will have top get used to a not having a few things in the car that my SAAB has, 1st I think of is a mp3 jack ? Even the 05 plate Range Rover with everything does not have a jack.
  13. Le Chameau :- Beaumont jacket,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!!!!!!!!! Does what it says on the label. Guaranteed waterproof and breathable, Cloth is made of Koktor fabric,,,,,,,,a cordura cotton mix to ensure it can handle the brambles etc. Big mole skin collar for your pretty soft cheeks, big game pockets and cartridge pockets with hold up tabs.
  14. There is a Big ground at North Ayrshire Shooting Ground, plenty of places to stay nearby.http://www.continentalshooting.co.uk/ Every discipline you want, and shop, services etc Was at Aviemore a month ago and shot at the Rothimurcus gound,http://www.rothiemurchus.net/ very nice sporting ground in Scots pine and heather moorland, can store guns for you whilst you are there for free, lots of places to stay nearby. I stayed at Fort Augustus in a log cabin in the woods, still a 90 minute drive to get there but it was worth it http://www.wildernes...y.php?id_cot=78 There are nicer places nearer but we wanted to stay there. Braidwood is a nice one too in the south of the country and has services http://www.braidwoodsc.co.uk/ Auchterhouse is nice ground with services at Dundee http://www.treemac.c...l/shooting.html These are only a few grounds that are open each day of the week, some grounds that I have not listed are weekends only. As far as I am aware the only place you can stay and shoot is the Hilton at Dunkeld,, maybe a few others but no dogs and too pricey to bother. If you have an area in mind I may be able to help further, with better info or local knowledge of places to stay.
  15. Thanks for that, will get around to getting one soon, not had a day on the pigeons this year due to the bad rain over here in the west.
  16. Aye an am right next to Clyde Tunnel and it takes me that
  17. You must be shifting to do it in 40 mins, takes me that from the West End, So I mainly use Houston every week.
  18. The new Silver Pigeon you have, since it has 32" Barrels has an oiled stock, not much oil on it to be honest, I have one in 30". You can lightly rub over some stock oil, whichever brand you like will sort it back to new, It's easy to upkeep even a pot of good beeswax furniture polish will look good, don't use the spray though. chiefy
  19. Tempting Tam so it is, could forget Houston and take my housekeeper on a day out. Chiefy
  20. Well I think this should be the latest sport to be added, could even spread into other sports. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWQQUoQHhnw What do you think ? Chiefy
  21. Take it you know that you are too far in front if the wad hit the clay. chiefy always shoot the second bird first
  22. The Hilton at Dunkeld, they have a little shoot next to it on the grounds but not a good set up, Hotel is Fab and old style Luxury, overlooking the river. They have a gun and rod room so you can safely leave your gear and have some time with the family. Its quite central, near to Perth so has good links to other shoots. It has a pool for the kids, a spa for the wifey, a river for Salmon. Don't have the evening meals! chiefy
  23. Got a nice new Beretta 682 Gold E,32" barrels then had an adjustable comb fitted, use it every sunday, few months later bought a new Silver Pigeon 1,687, 30" barrels. It has only fired three shots, and only out the bottom barrel, been nowt to kill at the farm since I got it. On another note the barrels from the 682 will fit on the silver pigeon action with the silver pigeon forend fitted but the silver pigeon barrels will not seat properly on the 682 action, any ideas, anyone tries similar ? chiefy
