  2. You are correct dekers, I know of a guy who applied for a .22lr for his first firearms license and when he had his visit from the FLO explained his need for a centrefire for foxes and was told not a problem!

Thankyou DNT at least you could see what I was getting at, I suppose if you have to pay the full fee it's down to the individual to make the most of it.

I presume by your response anser2 I should explain a bit more. If/when kent purchase/lease land near to you would you prefer to pay the full fee and have access to areas you will never go to or pay a smaller fee to only shoot a certain area? Forgive me I'm a Pisces so think a lot

I'd be interested to see if some people's fears become true and kent buy/lease more and more land if they would offer some sort of part membership, this would be because I wouldn't want to pay a higher fee when I have no intention of travelling to the south east.
  6. Hi, we paid £3.50 for 8 week olds
  7. Now that you mention it looks a good bet
  8. Nice shooting mate, agree with others, that .22-250 certainly pole axes them!
  9. Went out last night for a couple of rabbits as I didn't have any pigeons to feed the ferrets and thought I'd take the daystate huntsman classic .22 for a whirl. Baring in mind there were rabbits everywhere the other night whilst out foxing last night there weren't as many and I started to think 'oh here we go'. 1st one was a bit of a gift really, shooting out of my car window using the headlights it was no more than 20 yards but a kill is a kill, the 2nd one I was more pleased with as it was my furthest shot I've taken with my air rifle and just to be sure I had the back of the rabbits head between centre and 1st mildot paced out 110 feet. Both rabbits stone dead 1st shot and I've gotta say I don't think I'll ever get bored of seeing the light reflecting off the pellet as it heads to its target!
  10. Well done bob, is that your rav4 in the background?
  11. I've just lived life on the edge by venturing out into my garden!
  12. 25 metres? Steady on that's borderline!
  13. Well I'm sure your right most ammo would group ok if your only shooting at 25 yards
  14. Interesting spandit never really thought of noise levels per brand! Must admit I still love it when the cases are 'spat' out
  15. Agreed drut I have seen comments about quality issues, but are we talking of a few bullets per 50 or 500? (Not sure what everyone else's is but my ticket quota is 500)
  16. Cheers tt I suppose as always it's what my local rfd has in stock when I go! We used to use cci's but our brno preferred winnies and have stuck with them for years but I'm tempted to try fiocchi's if available
  17. Cheers fortune looks like winchesters are still popular! I see what you mean as I remember voting all the way back in April I know what you mean davyo but you know what it's like, is there that 'other' brand that could put a few extra bunnies in the bag. I just thought I'd ask the question not to repeat an old topic but to see if there were any newish brands that people liked that I hadn't heard of.
  18. Evening all getting ready to having a proper session clearing some rabbits soon and having used Winchester subs for years was wondering what others were using? Now I'm not trying to start a which bullet is best thread as I know every rifle can prefer different loads but it just got me thinking what other brands have you guys tried and got on with? I don't want to buy say 6 brands if only 2 or 3 seem to lead the way for example fiocchi or eley, cheers.
  19. Sorry for the late reply, but as said above 28 grams or 30 grams would be fine as it all depends on your build etc and what YOU feel comfortable with. I have used RC Sipe 32g 6s to great effect even though someone watching me reckons they caused a lot of muzzle flip, I would like to try hulls imperial game as it's only 26g but people claim it can still bring down decent birds.
  20. Talking from personal experience I found it easy mate, shot a lanber o/u s/t from aged 13 till 27 when my mum and dad gave me a Webley & Scott 700 sxs d/t and took to it straight away! Still use the lanber for clays and heavy loads and can skip back to the sxs with no issues.
  21. 1 lamp shy dog fox tonight again with the .223 Total 396
