  1. Iffy parts is one thing but not being very helpful on the phone etc annoys me a lot, manners don't cost anything as far as I'm concerned.
  2. That's a very clever idea you've had there! Birds wondering is a nightmare for a full time keeper let alone a part time one, we have a tenancy for a forestry commission wood and it's a nightmare as the track that you drive on through the wood also acts as a highway for wandering birds!
  3. Hi, do you mind me asking why you was nervous about bismuth? As far as I was aware it's always been ok to use in old English guns and I've personally not heard about max size being 3 shot?
  4. Well if you believe 32g 5s are over the top you'd probably pass out if you found what a gamekeeper I know of did (bb's on a standard driven day!)
  5. Shhh! He told me he was semi-retiring, when I asked him what day's he was going to work to avoid calling him on his day's off he said he hadn't worked that out yet
  6. Don't worry bob I know what your talking about, a chap I know could train a dog to kiss his backside if he wanted to. My dad has witnessed him work SEVEN springer spaniels all at once in a sugarbeet field and he is known to have worked TEN dogs at one time up on the grouse moors yet even with all these credentials he has said to me before that some dogs (after being spoilt) would benefit from a collar.
  7. Come now figgy surely you must be tempted by the name 'dark storm', I bet you wouldn't of bought eleys until they put 'lightning' on them
  8. When he told you they've been replaced did he mean in his own shop or the whole range?
  9. Haha! Well the fact that you and I have both heard of it makes me think there maybe some truth in it somewhere no matter how much it's suffered the Chinese whispers treatment
  10. They are dark storm if my eyes serve me correct, you can just make it out underneath black gold.
  11. But at least YOU look like the one in control
  12. Sorry bob where are my manners, I was told by a trainer (a very good one) that if the dog goes and all else fails yell "good boy get back!"
  13. Be warned! I was told a story of a man who had a similar problem and was advised to load some cartridges with rice grains. When his dog ran in he gave it both barrels to try to deter it but ran past an Italian who shot the dog and said "I finish it off for you!" Now I reiterate it is just a story so hope it was made up!
  14. Not sure if you have a dog or are in a position to have one but some people put a lot of time into that and get as much enjoyment picking up than what they do shooting.
  15. There's an rfd down langtoft fen and I think they were £14 and there is guns & tackle in whaplode which were £12 last time I bought some.
  16. Hi mate I'm in South Lincolnshire and seen them from £12-£14 for 150 black standards
  17. Good on you, nothing better than when they fold up dead at distance! Even better when you see your dog work well to bring them to hand. I can't wait to get out onto the marsh to have a go.
  18. Same as the first 2 replies, a nice write up and a really lovely looking dog and as for the cartridges they sound shockingly (sorry) good
