  1. That was the problem. They would not do a personal lease on a commercial vehicle.
  2. Not sure how to post a pic but Nissan duke. I really can't stand them. Look like a overgrown micra.
  3. Sounds like a great deal. I enquired about leasing a barbarian at my local main dealer. To be told I had to have a vat registered business to lease a commercial vehicle from them.
  4. Sounds like a good dog to me. If the dog looks for direction and does exactly what you tell him then is that not ideal?
  5. I have put a fair few 3 1/2" 1's through mine and can honestly say no jams. I went orkney last year though and another shot had a bran new a400 xtreme. He had a nightmare with his jamming with 3 1/2" shells. He ended up just using his browning 10bore for the rest of the trip when shooting geese. He did love the gun when shooting ducks in the evening using 3" 3's
  6. I heard the "click" as a skien of greys flew 30yrds up straight over my pal one the 1st. He was ******
  7. A400 extreme for fowling and pigeons, miroku mk70 grade 5 for clays and driven shooting if I ever get the chance. I shoot the miroku better than the auto at clays but could never bring myself to take it on the marsh. The a400 has taken some real abuse in the 2 years I've had it but still cleans up like new
  8. I regularly see a firm advertise on fb to remove dpf and reprogrammed the ecu. They cut a panel out the exhaust from above and remove it. Once done they weld the panel back in place and refit the exhaust. Without removing the exhaust you cannot see the panel. They claim more power and better mpg are achieved.
  9. I got my stihl chain saw from my local ernest doe store. They matched the price I found on eBay.
  10. Different people look for different things in there shooting. For some being dropped to a flight pond and shooting massive numbers of reared ducks is how they get their kicks. For me it's about the challenge and being in a demanding yet beautifull environment. Shooting that number of duck in my eyes Is over the top but only the person behind the trigger or shoot captain can make that call.
  11. Well it's been a real up and down start of the season for me. It all started at 2am on the 31st. Me and 2 mates had arranged to get out a day early to see what was about and decide where on the marsh we wanted to be. I had sorted all the gear out the day before so set of bang on time. Met my pals in the car park and of we went into the darkness. The first bit of the journey we had to wade thought water up to our wastes to get to the higher ground. Once that was over it was plain sailing and 45mins later we arrived. It felt good to be back out there. The sights sounds and smells of the marsh as it wakes up cannot be beaten. This morning we was in for a treat. For me shooting is not just what it's about. It was around 4.30 when I heard the wing beats coming. Pack after pack of mallard flooded out over the sea wall and if it had been the first I would have had to call it a day after an hour. The geese started moving at 6am plenty of skeins of greys and Canada's coming over 40 odd yards up at this point I was fairly confident that the next morning I would have my fist goose of the marsh. I have shot plenty inland but to get one of the marsh was my aim this season, I only really started true wildfowling halfway through last season and soon got the bug. The geese stopped coming over at 10 am so with confidence flying high I decided to go and get some sleep. Spent the day chilling out and thinking about the steak I was going to have in the pub that evening. Around 5 we set off for the long walk back. The place we park the motors Is a shared car park with the pub so nice and convinent. Had some great food and drink. The banter was flowing and we was all pretty excited for the next day. So for the 3rd time that day we marched back, set up out shelters and crashed out for a few hours well earned kip. We all knew it would be busy on the 1st but as we had our spots, was not to worried. At 3 am I was woken by gun shots. Thinking it was someone having a bang at early ducks I was not bothered and it sounded a fair distance away. Quickly packed up the shelter and made my way to my chosen spot. I could not have been more wrong. It turns out some **** was out in a boat and had taken shots at geese on the roost, this In turn messed up the flight. With geese going in every direction far to early combined with a lot of guns out my morning was over befor it had started. 10 am soon arrived and I got a phone call from the wife telling me her grandad who has been ill for a long time only had a matter of hours left and that she was heading down to Brighton to see him. I quickly packed up and in record time was back at the van. We made it to the hospital in good time and 20minutes later he sadly passed away. Peter was a true gent who love to hear my shooting and fishing stories. He will be greatly missed. We spent the rest of the day with my wife's gran and eventually dropped her of at my mother inlaws at mid nite. After sitting indoors for an hour thinking over the days event and feeling quite sad I decided the best thing for me was to get my myself back on the mash in search of my goose. 3am and I was back in the van on my way to the marsh. Think I got to my spot around 4.30 the first hour was slow I did not see or hear much. After having very little sleep in the last couple of days I decided to lay back and shut my eyes. Next thing I know it's 7.30 and the mrs was ringing to make sure all was ok. Had a quick chat and carried on checking the horizon. 5 minutes later I Clocked a skein of Canada's heading my way. They was not quite on the right line to give me a good shot but lucky enough another fowler decided to have a shot at them , this split 2 from the skein and they was heading straight at me. Bang, first shot and my goose folded. my first goose of the marsh. I was over the moon and for the couple of minutes after all my worries drifted away. Peter would have been proud and loved to have heard all about it. This is a memory that will stay with me for a very long time. A sat there for the rest of the flight thinking about the ups and downs of the start of my season. Another skien of greys did present a shot, but with one goose in the bag and the thought of carrying 2 back I let them sail on by. I would upload I pic but only have access to my iphone. If any one would be willing for me to email a pic to them and upload it I would be very great full. Thanks for reading and I wish you all good luck for the rest of the season.
  12. Van is all loaded up ready to go (minus the gun). Leaving at 3am tomorrow to get the spot I want and to see where the greys are coming in of the estuary. Then the long 24 hrs wait. Got a cheap little tent for me and drake to spend the nite in. Will be coming home on Wednesday. To say I'm looking forward to it is an understatement
  13. I pay £5.40 per 10 shells for gamebore 3-1/2" no1's 42gms. Good price or not?
  14. Give the starter motor a whack with a hammer. If it works, it's the starter motor
  15. Well I have ordered a set of vass 700e nova waders. Will let you all know how I get on with them.

    Not again

Sorry but that did give me a chuckle, it's always someone else at fault. The fella I work with moved into a new house, the first time his mrs pulled on to the drive she knocked the new neibours wall over. She has a knock in the motor atleast once every 6 months. Your not Alone pal.
  17. "Just do what you want! you normally do"
  18. If you can get the upgrade I think it's well worth it. We flew premium with thomson to Mexico for our honey moon. Me, the mrs and our 5 month old daughter. The look on the guy next to us was a picture when he saw the baby. The whole experience was good, fast check in, better seats and the flight crew could not have been more helpful. The baby was a dream and with the extra space a lot easier to get comfortable holding her. We are going again in April but my daughter will be 2 so has to have her own seat. It hurt paying it but we will be in premium. Got another baby due in January so could be an interesting flight.
  19. Chick peas left in curry paste for a couple of days
  20. Well done, some nice fish there. It is very addictive, are you going to keep at it?
