  1. We want to lead the world in climate change tech and management. 470 is delegates registered. The UK govt party is just 57. You would expect that if the UK believes it's at the forefront of change then we want to be winning business across the world. This will need people to do it.
  2. I bet that was one very amusing job. πŸ™‚ I am next to a large waterfowl site here and we are inundated with bird watchers.
  3. Dog starts bumping the gate around 0715. I am a big fan of wild swimming for the same reasons.
  4. Out walking the dog on Friday and dropping a few pheasant's I spotted some unusually large slots. Back later I was faced with a group of large red deer. I dropped a medium sized stag. There were much bigger options, but there was just me and a CRV. That was the easy bit. So different from the roe I normally shoot. The animal must be 100kg +, had hair like steel wool, blunted my knives, smells like a horse, gas in the belly 🐽. I then spent the next two hours trying to get it into my car, it very nearly killed me. It's too big for me to process so it's gone to a local butcher. Saturday was spent cleaning out the car.
  5. I have never seen rockets used.
  6. Maybe some our but the ones i shoot, spur wing, egyptian, are definitely not fussy. The problem for me is always getting them to land where the decoys are rather than 100m away. 🀣
  7. People used to and i think some still do believe, the world to be flat. Despite the best science they saw with their own eyes that it was flat. Surely if it were round we would all fall off. We started the industrial revolution what better than to lead the world out of it. Of course its much easier cheaper and less of an affront to our lifestyles, to imagine that we know better than the scientists that study this stuff. Problem with human uncivilisation is it's always the fault of someone else.
  8. It's not looking good with the tariffs from Trump on the horizon. Tariffs from the EU on China UK will need to decide which side it favours, EU or US. This enlarged Weimar mtg with Tusk and the recent overtures to and from the EU are all good signs for a progressive trade arrangement. The bypassing of FBI clearance tests for Trump appointments, together with the choice of appointments should also make the decision easier. Either way it's likely to be further trade depressing news.
  9. Bang on. But this '' Maybe they should clamp down on the number of illegal guns in the country. 🀷 '' Is a separate and unconnected argument. The process for gun regulation of individuals works.
  10. Crikey that's carp. I thought Devon had similar recycling for households as elsewhere?
  11. That needs to be sorted it's outrageous. Still better than landfill.
  12. Same here just two of us with a small black wheelie bin. 90% of stuff goes in recycling.
  13. Climate Cymru BAME. Is the source. Dog-free areas should be created in local green spaces to make them more inclusive, the report says. However, the point is not elaborated on. It's a story about nothing whipped up by the media frenzy to sell content and picked up by low information members of the public.
  14. I agree but you don't eat an elephant in one bite. Far better than spending Β£15m on running around like a headless chicken. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/nov/15/tory-pair-backed-rushed-misjudged-asylum-site-purchase-watchdog-northeye
  15. Do they have a farm?
  16. I spoke to a farmer only today and asked him what he thought of the tax and he said ''If it's a problem they should get better accountants'' πŸ™‚

Effective checks and balances are removed. Add to which he is refusing to sign the Transition ethics code. Appointing Musk is clearly a conflict of interest. What a twisted piece of work he is.
  19. This from the ONS. Growth in the number of households is fastest where the household reference person (HRP) is of older age; 64% of the total growth in households is accounted for by households where the HRP is aged 75 years or over. The number of people aged 75 years and over living on their own is projected to increase by 461,000 in the 10 years to 2028. Statistician's comment β€œThe latest household projections show a continued rise in the number of households in England, at a level closely in line with what was previously projected. There continues to be much variation across age groups, regions and household types. We project the majority of household growth over the next 10 years will be because of an increase in older households without dependent children, particularly those where the household reference person is aged 75 years and over. This shows the potential impact of an ageing population on future household formation.”
  20. You will be eating goose for a week πŸ™‚
