  1. Take a look at some of the 28" barrel game guns available. A shooting pal has just bought a ATA game gun that weighs under 7lbs. in 12 bore. Coupled with 21 or 24 gram cartridges it would make a good starter gun for a lady. I also know of 2 ladies that both use Winchester 101 lightweight game guns. Neither paid more than £500 for them. I would stick with a 12 bore as there is a bigger range of cartridges available. I also have a Beretta 303 12 bore, that is fractionally over 7lbs. in weight. Try and go to a shop that has a shooting ground, or at least somewhere where you can try the guns. Any stock can be altered to fit, with the possible exception of the 'plastic' variety.
  2. I'm out.......I shall sit back and wait for the Police to start the next riots. Meanwhile I shall hide behind my 'blue haze' 😂😂
  3. Adam, I have passed the information on. He was going to look at the ad. Good luck with the sale.
  4. I saw it FIRST HAND in 1981. That was enough thank you. 1 Police Officer murdered and countless injuries, some of which were certainly ' life changing'. Entire blocks of shops on fire, total blackout, all street lamps destroyed. Milk floats loaded with petrol bombs, a brick on the accelerator and driven at Police lines. They went on night after night for 3 months. I was on 12 hours shifts, on nights, with no days off for around 6 weeks. Unable to arrest anyone, as that took at least 2 Officers away to deal with it. Basically we just clobbered people then walked forward, trying to regain ground. I had no time for rioters then and I don't have any now. The cause then....to create a 'no go' area where drugs and prostitution could carry on, unhindered. They virtually achieved that too. After all of this, my Colleagues and myself were all then all sent on various courses, to teach us 'not to be racist' ! So, yes, I do struggle 'to see that though'. What I do see almost daily, and I still see a lot of Police Officers, both working and retired, through shooting, are more and more Police Officers getting out of the job, through any means possible. They are fed up too. How can Police Officers be put there to taunt them ? Get real, no rioters.......no Police Officers required to be there.
  5. If they were law abiding, they would not have been arrested. They must have broken the law to be in jail 🤔 I live within 10 miles of the location of many of the riots. I stayed at home.
  6. Unfortunately today, that Bobby is now too busy trying to avoid being injured. One a day throughout the Country, with 4 a week being serious assaults. Recently a Police Woman was mown down by a car she was trying to stop in Manchester. With no custodial sentences being given to those guilty of assaulting an emergency worker, what is there to lose ? Now it's the turn of ambulance crews too. They are also being assaulted on a daily basis.
  7. In all of the new houses being built on the land, that farmers are being forced to sell.
  8. So, even if the Police had attended earlier, with the limited resources they had, how do you suggest they should deal with a mob of possibly 70 plus, fast moving offenders ? That, coupled with everybody there having a phone/camera. I only hope that those who were there, have sufficient video evidence AND are prepared to make complainants statements, to get those jobs past the CPS. Even should it get to Court, the sentences handed out will certainly not fit the crime. NONE of which can be blamed on the Police. Only last week an Offender who was found to be carrying a 'bladed article' (otherwise known as a knife) in public, received a SUSPENDED SENTENCE. I can not begin to imagine how the Police Officers that dealt with that are feeling.
  9. 😂😂😂😂😂 Very good. Did you see the Manchester Airport video ? THAT was the result of 'fighting back'. Do you really believe that they would depart at the sight of the Police vehicles ? Do you also believe that today Police Officers are still allowed to use the degree of force that these CC members require. Your fantasy world was ending before I retired and that was 23 years ago. The only offences that I can see are trespass on land in pursuit of game, which has no power of arrest. Yes, there is criminal damage, but you are unlikely to get farmers making statements to prove damage, for fear of reprisals. Of course the CC members are fully aware of this.
  10. Thank you Adam. I think the guy that I am teaching wants 30" barrels. I shall ask him tomorrow though. I have a Winchester Supergrade Trap that has been Teagued, which he has been shooting.
  11. Are they 28" or 30" barrels ? How many and what are the chokes please ? Do you know the stock length ? Thanks.
  12. We don't have a poaching problem in this area, the Council sorted it..........they just put housing estates on the farmland. Problem over.
  13. In today's world, I think it is bending over forwards ! 😊
  14. To a degree, it does. If you approach someone to point out that they are off the public footpath, they simply act more daft than they are, and keep walking. They will then leave the land or rejoin the public footpath in the direction that they are going. Unless they have caused damage, that's it, end of. The law of trespass is an A. S.S. Step foot on their little bit of England and see how they react though.
  15. Thank you, if I was confronted by someone waving one of these about, might have reacted in the same way. I am NOT surprised the little darlings were shouted at ? I think Mummy is after her '15 minutes of fame too' ?
  16. I do believe they were a little more than 'just children' though. As I have attempted to point out, that it was also dark and we are unaware of the lighting. BUT, only last week MP's were talking of lowering the age of criminal responsibility, because of the numbers of 'children ' involved in violent offences.
  17. Ah OK, BUT unlike your good self, I was not at the scene, so I am unable to say what took place. I have no doubt you will be making a statement of your version of events. I shall just wait for any body cam footage that may, or probably will not, ever emerge.
  18. How right you are. I fish a reservoir with a dam situated at one end. Clearly displayed at each end of the dam, on the closed gates, are signs stating anglers only on the dam. The public footpath that runs at the base of the dam, on the opposite side is also clearly marked. This is to prevent any injury to people, caused by anglers backcasts, when fishing off the dam. Needless to say, the signs are completely ignored, and people walk along the top of the dam. Trying to explain why they risk injury, is pointless. Even to the point of being told we should not be backcasting on a footpath. Joe Public........thick as pig manure !
  19. I don't know........you tell me ?
  20. This is something that has happened for years though. I remember a Keeper finding a note pinned to his rearing field shed, "we have poisoned your feed bin". This was after a run in with said CC members and their long dogs. That incident occurred 40 years ago. I know the local Keepers here have a good working relationship with the Police.
  21. I think you may find that most Gamekeepers know the local Police and would therefore have contacted them immediately, before even approaching the offenders. They would then observe and possibly film the offender, in order to gain evidence for a conviction.
