  1. And everyone ignores them anyway.......especially if they leave their shopping lights on !
  2. Now sorted, thank you.
  3. I guess you must be lucky, maybe you have vegan magpies ? I wish we had them here. Every year I witness the damage that magpies do to ALL nesting birds, but being in the middle of a concrete jungle, I am unable to do anything about their control.
  4. So it's a bit like a breakdown in lane 3 then ? Pushing your car across 2 live lanes is not really an option ?
  5. The only way ANY motorway is safe is when it is empty. Or any other road for that matter. I read this week that road workers are being attacked by irate idiot drivers who dislike having their journey disrupted. While these clowns are driving on our roads, no road is safe.
  6. Looking for I/C and Skeet, Briley 12 bore extended chokes to fit Browning STANDARD Invector please.
  7. Remember the shilling gas meters, in the 1960's I was fitting them ! 😄
  8. Prices have increased, BUT, I still believe that a used Japanese or Italian gun, is a better buy than some of the cheaper makes. The bottom line is, whatever makes YOU happy, is the right one. Having confidence in the gun is well on the way to shooting enjoyment.
  9. I have recently given away some 30 odd Flexicoy decoys, none like that though. The flexicoys had a 'bellows' style base, where the stick went in, it was this that ballooned them out.
  10. Gun shops will always push the new gun over a used model. It's all about 'mark up' ! The new gun with its warranty, (which you may well need) is likely to lose a lot more money, than a good make used gun will.
  11. You mentioned that you 'feel' the heavier gun more, after some shooting. I suggest that is caused by using muscles that you do NOT normally use, but would ease after you did a bit more shooting, especially if you practice your gun mounting at home between shoots. I would look for an average weight of close to 8lbs. especially if you plan on doing 100 bird shoots. I am nearly 80 and use an 8lbs gun with 30" barrels. I try to shoot at least once a week using a mix of 24 and 28 gram cartridges, I am not aware of any recoil issues.
  12. Thank you, I did. I have had 4 different devices from the local TV/Audio shop, none of them have worked. The device is provided by, and installed, by a TV engineer, via the local council. He said the new sets do not have audio facilities, although they do have Bluetooth. I am hoping to borrow a set of headphones off the Grandkids, to see if they will work. I thank you for your help.
  13. I have a 'loop system' fitted in my lounge that enabled me to hear the TV direct into my hearing aids. We recently changed the TV to an all singin an dancin model. Except, it is so good, I can no longer use my loop system as it was intended to be used. There is no audio leads output, so I can't connect the loop system. I am now stuck with a microphone dangling by the sets speaker. That picks up EVERYTHING in the room, except the TV. So much for progress ! 🙄
  14. The Winchester or Classic Doubles clay guns tend to weigh around 8lbs. with the 'field' models coming in at just over 7lbs., depending on their 'spec'.
  15. Don't dismiss the Winchester or the follow on Classic Doubles either. You mention the Citori having a 'fixed' 1/2 choke. Is that because it is seized in ? If the answer to that is "YES", that should give you a clue as to its lack of care !
  16. I have a feeling he was referring to the YEAR of his birth and NOT his actual age. I know we are all living longer, but I think 82 is leaving it a bit late to enter our sport. The time it takes to get a Shotgun Certificate nowadays, he might just not require it ?? 😂 I would go with the gun that fits you the best, rather than worry about the guns age. I have a S x S that is close to getting a telegram from the King ! I am currently using a Classic Doubles (Winchester) made around 1990. It handles superbly and does everything my later model guns will do.
  17. I can sell you a brick ! 😊
  18. Not quite, you can be prosecuted for domestic abuse WITHOUT a statement of complaint. When I was working, some 25 years ago, if the complainant withdrew their statement (which most did) the job never ever got to Court. The Police still have to prove the case, but it can be done, even if the complainant refuses to assist them.
  19. The Police Service in general has been heavily criticised for the way in which they did, or did not, deal with domestic abuse. Most of this was due to the complainant either not wishing to proceed, or withdrawing their complaint before it reached Court. The law was changed to allow Police to arrest an Offender and put them before a Court, complaint or no complaint. Hence the now newly formed Departments to deal with domestic abuse. This trial by 5 Police Forces, certainly would make it appear they take domestic abuse very seriously. It would certainly look good on their Annual Reports too. "We have revoked X amount of firearms Certificates this year, from premises after reports of domestic abuse" !
  20. I also know of 3 shooters who lost their guns, due to a divorced and vengeful ex wife. Of course women never lie, do they ?
  21. Thank you, a bit too far.
  22. Whereabouts are you ?
  23. It seems a lot of the birds that are dying from eating it are vaporising too !
