  3. And this may be them: At some further point the firm was renamed Manton and Co, which may or may not be coincidal with a change in ownership. To quote Teasdale-Buckell, “The business of Manton and Co. was purchased by Mr. William Robert Wallis about the year 1847; he worked the business successfully until his retirement from India in 1878, when the same was taken over and is now worked by his sons. The firm has flourished, and has held the appointment of gunmakers to every Viceroy of India, and bears the highest reputation as the pioneer gunmakers in India.” [1: 286]

  17. And this: Moore, Daniel, Moore’s Patent Fire Arms Co.—Brooklyn, N. Y. Moore received the following patents: April 3, 1855, side swung revolver; September 18, i860, revolver improvements; January 7, 1862, seven-shot, rim-fire revolver (pressure upon a stud to the right of the hammer allows the barrel and cylinder to swing to the right on a pivot at lower end of the frame) ; February 24, 1863, pistol, the barrel swings to the left to load. Moore’s patents were infringements on Smith & Wesson and were taken over by that firm. Produced D. Williamson's patent teat-fire revolver, patent of January 5, 1864. Active 1853-67.
  18. WILLIAMSON, David — New York, N. Y. The name appears on a per cussion derringer made under D. Williamson patent of Oct. 2, 1866, No. 58,525. Probably made by the National Arms Co., of Brooklyn, N. Y., or Moore Firearms Co. of Brooklyn (same firm), makers of Williamson arms. BROOKLYN N.Y." and "D. WILLIAMSON'S PATENT JANUARY 5, 1864" This is what i could find after a quick search Nothing in Nigel Brown and would seem to be US based K

  23. You want nitro-proofed, lots have open chokes, even TC on the right barrel, you need good wall thicknesses and ideally well in proof and little or no pitting Bill Pink/Historic Guns (Coney Basher on here) is very helpful. I bought a Pollard Hammer gun off him and Gunman here knows of a good gun And there's Diggory Hadoke's book on Hammer Guns I did find on a shoot last Saturday that it helped being able to open my Lang hammer gun with the right hammer cocked K
