To say we have tried for years with treatment and drugs isn't correct. We've tried for a couple of decades and only with convicted offenders. Don't get me wrong, I'd happily support the death penalty for those convicted but we need to spend more money and time on treatment for those that want to change how they are and protect as many children as we can. Since we don't live in a minority report world if we don't know who these people are how can we protect our children?

I thought it was a very interesting programme. You have to remember the difference between a peadopfile and someone who goes on to act and becomes a sex offender. Eddie didn't want to be the way he was and clearly we haven't invested much in the way of treatment. Rather than just locking people up and releasing them again with no treatment I agree we should be looking at ways to treat them. It would seem to be a fault with how their brains are wired but why can't we look at fixing this. It sounds like prevention would save more children than letting them live in the shadows until they offend.

Hello, I was just wondering if someone could give me some advice since it the weekend and the FEO will we off work until Monday. I've applied for my SGC with Lancashire Comstabulary and got a letter confirming they had received it and told me who the FEO would be. I saw my referee yesterday and just asked her if they had made contact. She said they hadn't but today I noticed they have cashed my £50 cheque. I'm not having a fun kept at my house and it will go to my fathers address (who is also applying). If they have cashed the cheque does that mean my application has been granted?

Not unless I planned to sit there with it all the time and even until I'd finished and it had cooled down.

The rolex Milgauss is fake as I have the same one. You wouldn't be able to see the green glass as clear from that angle on a genuine one. I think the brietling is real as it looks the same as my genuine one. Very hard to tell though.

I don't think there is a set list of discounts and it varies in different areas. For example, Some McD's give a free coffee if you're in uniform and some don't. People seem to forget that cops need to eat as well and we can't sit in a nice warm office with the paper whilst we do. Officially I'm allowed 45 mins to eat but MUST still respond to emergency calls. My radio goes off all the time so on some shift rotations I'm lucky if i park up on a street and eat in 5 mins. For this reason some companies do encourage Officers to eat at their place. Asda allow us to use their staff canteen as the same price their staff pay. Which works out better.... Me having breakfast at the station or parking a marked car outside asda whilst I eat and therefore no crime? We don't get bonuses, shares, corporate days or any other perks so at least let us have a few quid of some food :-) And technically speaking all discounts and gifts should be logged in a register and declared. This is to make sure that the offer of 50% off a pizza doesn't come with any other 'conditions'!!

Changing the tyres wouldn't count as a modification (even if it did just ring up and tell your insurance company). I'm not aware of the steel insert as the bmw wheels are just normal ones and the tyres have extra stiff walls which makes for the bad ride quality.

I actually thought it was a good race. Much more interesting than F1 that has about as much scope for overtakes as a McDonalds drive-thru. No where near as good as BTCC but it will help push the tech forward. Crazy driving by Prost but it made it more entertaining for the viewers. I'm not saying I agree with it but the bosses behind the sport must have cheered when they saw that at the end!
