  1. Having been to both places, Skye and further NW, camping at Glenbrittle and spending the days in the Cuillins, it would have been difficult to pass on COVID to a seal or a deer. People who totally afraid to catch or pass on the bug, should stay at home reading holiday brochures (you might still find some),
  2. For the few who won,t or can,t (for whatever reasons) isolate on return from the fleshpots of the Rivieras, there is a small situation called anarchy. On your return from Benidorm or somewhere similar, if you choose to ignore self isolation, you may be visited or contacted by phone and relieved of a £1000 fine for your troubles if caught out. the fine could, of course, provided you with a nice set of camping gear which you could use for a week or so wild camping in Torridon or Skye where there will be one or two remote pubs where the chances of getting a dose of COVID are very remote.
  3. Good luck. Virus nowhere near as dangerous? It kills young and old alike if you get the infection. Why stay in the UK? If you act like a **** you are more likely to catch a dose on a aircraft or terminal than a few days at Butlins. Anyway, everyone to their own.
  4. This was inevitable and will continue to grow, particularly in the cities with up to 7 generations in a household. A great majority of acted carefully through the lockdown, a small majority took not a toss of notice and did as they pleased, relaxation of lockdown drove it over the edge. If we let anyone into the country by air, ferry, train or rubber raft, the virus will accompany them. It just seems that nobody in charge gives a short **** about about the problem. I just hope that my family will have as many happy years as I have had..........
  5. Yep, seen it all. I'm in the senior group and myself and wife have been careful all through lockdown, done our own shopping around the 6am times with little problem, but, the young ******* who also want to shop in the age restricted time all seem not give a damn about themselves and anybody else. Problem, the staff controlling the doors have no power to manage this situation and the guy in charge has no balls.
  6. Hi, Thanks for your post, bought my Shotkam as a game improver and so far I am impressed. Will probablyy move it on within a year as I hope to have sorted my shooting out totally by then.
  7. Always wanted a try with one and the offer tempted me. Early days (2), but well impressed so far.
  8. Straight to the rubbish bin. If its genuine it will arrive again. Try just replying to the email and youre likely to get a none delivery meesage.
  9. The make is Keter as in the post above , I bought it online some years ago to do one big job (sawing), but don't remember where.

  13. A Nobel Prize for this essay would be well deserved. Grandalf, much truth in it. Thanks for including it from another senior member.👍 Remember Logan's Run and the Carousel.
  14. And just how and where are you going to put your 99 year old mother-in-law and care for her when your past your best yourselves anyway? 🙏
  15. Announced today that the Goverment is funding a £60,000 payment to the families of the NHS staff who died on the front line. It won't bring the heroes back or ease the pain and loss but it will be an amount that will ease the hardship somewhat. A very nice gesture.
  16. This mornings Sun ramblings: However the old and vulnerable could face indefinite lockdown unless a vaccine is developed soon. Some officials are concerned the over-70s and those with poor health may have to be shielded for up to 18 months, even when many of the restrictions have been lifted. www.thesun.co.uk/news/11428725/secret-traffic-light-lockdown-masterplan/ Not particularly good news for the older shooter what.
  17. A guiding light to us all. God bless you your Majesty.

    POOR BORIS

Get well Boris, youv'e got us so far as PM, carry on and help us build a future forour country.
  19. Garden never looked as good, ( I actually enjoy it now), car clean and polished and a near daily walk up through the woods. Wifes working at home so pots of tea and a biscuit on demand. Lost weight and feel 3 years fitter? What is a bit of a bind: Coniston Shooting Ground closed. The repetitive Coronavirus multi duplicated stuff on TV including 'it will peak in 2 weeks, 2 weeks, 2 weeks' every day. Must admit though, we are lucky to live quite rural and I truly sympathise with city dwellers in high rise apartments.

    Economic impact.

Yes, I remember the 50's and food rationing, total austerity, mended and hand-me-down clothes, mock bacon (fried lettuce) and many other hardships. And, yes, youre right, the present molly coddlled population would just lie down and weep.
  21. Gardens never looked as good👍 Wife not at work, coffee and snacks on demand👍 Cars clean👍 Only bloody trouble is Coniston Shooting Grounds closed down👎
  22. Front page of today's Express. 'Unleased, our new Battle of Britain''. I didn't think this was very appropriate to our current crisis when hundreds of young men from all parts of Europe killed each other over the skies of Western Europe in 1940. I know we have a battle but please don't compare it with one of the most selfless acts of heroism in history. In my opinion.
