  1. I went across to Normandy for the 50th anniversey, and it was one of the saddest moments of my life. The big cemetrys are overwelming so many headstones so beautifully looked after and the small crossroads cemetrys dotted around the countryside. It bought to me a hugh sence of saddness that young men and women, who led ordinary lives had to go forth and fight for the rights we hold so dear to day. Where they all heros, I think that would be to strong of word (my Granfather did not see himself as one). However their Bravery can never be questioned. I will wear my poppy (there is only one colour to wear) and I will quietly reflect on the sacfiices other have made and are still making.
  2. Hi Newbie. Welcome to PW. A&S are pretty good, but it could take a few weeks yet but it is worth the wait.

  12. He hated it. Although as an engineer he admired the workmanship, to use his words 'completly impratical on a grouse more or any other driven shoot'
  13. I use to be a big Hawke fan. However since purchasing a Vortex completly converted the light gathering is stunning I have estimated it gives me abot 15 mins extra at half light above the Hawke. Now it could just be my eye, but I am seriously impressed by ther optics and build quality.
  14. There is an old chap I know who use to load on a Scottish estate back in the day, he told me about this gun and how he had the misfortune to end up loading for a Gentleman with a pair of Darnes still haunts him to this day.

  17. If memory serves me right I think it has to be a custodial sentence over a certain time period. It is always wise to inform them of any convictions including speeding . It can take a bit of time after the inspection for the paperwork to catch up.
  18. This is a tragic incident. I think that in these type ofcases it is all about prevention. I would be in favor of it becoming conpulsary that every air gun is sold with a trigger lock. Now I know that this will rely on owners using them, but I believe that if it helps reduce this time of incidents it has got to be worth doing.
