    16 bore?

My lad uses a 16 Licoln Fair o/u. As aready mentioned lighter to carry all day and very little or no differance to a 12.I have heard that it was reckoned that the 16 bore was the optimum caliber for 1 oz loads. I don't know how this conclusion was arrived at, but having seen the 16 in action I can well believe it. In fact I am now on the look out for a sxs 16 for myself.
  2. I did fall in love with it as soon as I picked it up. If the look and feel had not aready sold me, the opening and closing with a smooth 'snick' eliminated any doudts I had about returning to a SxS.( As a bonus the gun fits me perfectly) The only history I know about the gun is that it was sleaved by Crudgington in the early 70s for Avon Shooting of Radstock. Althought it went on to private ownership, it has had very little if any use. The chambers are still at there original 65mm barrels choked 1/4 and 3/4. While Crudgintons had the gun they gave it a comlete overhaul, so the she is as good as the day she left Boswells
  3. Many reasons. Lighter to carry comfortable to shoot, I find them easier to swing through, and above all personnel preference. If you get a chance to try one, give it a go it might surprise you.
  4. Have you tried Rifleman at langport?
  5. Many thanks. I noticed that the ssb150 powder feature in qiue a few articals. Hi Cervusman thanks you for the offer, it is certanly food for thought. How dificult are the presses to convert from the 12?
  6. I will second that my 1517 is the go to rifle for all my vermin control. Accurate, quick and effective. My rifle is zeroed at 60yrds, with a lot of my control work taking place, in and around woodland with ranges from 15yrds to 100. A great caliber

  8. I would be fibbing if I said I didn't get a thrill when I picked up that sbs. It was one of the best moments you can have with your trousers on. Looking forwards to getting out into the field with it.

  12. Looking for some advise on reloading for the 28 bore. I have previously reloaded for rifles. I have done a quite a bit of research on the subject and ended thinking, this is going to get complicated, with different case types, wads powder primers etc. So can anyone help point me in the right direction with refrence to a good powder wad combanation. I am looking to load for mainly game/ pidgeon I am looking 26-28gram with plactic wad I will be purchasing a mec 600 jr as soon as my bank balance allows. Cheers in advance
  13. I don't have a sling. I have looked into variouse methods, but have not come up with a solution I am happy with. I find the Impact comfortable enough to carry, one of the advantages of a bullpup is that it sits comfortaby in your arm.
  14. I also have the FX impact great rifle never regretted buying it.
  15. Not just you security issue with the web page
