  1. An absolute travesty. Purely ideological, backwards thinking, if indeed Dories is capable of thinking. Probably the most stark cultural vandalism I can remember in this country. You may have gathered I’m not impressed.
  2. My £1 a year isn’t going to help them much!
  3. Deposit now taken. Will update if sale does not go through.
  4. As many as you want. Not recorded or checked like anything held on fac/sgc.
  5. I’ve never really found an answer to this. But I have received air rifles by post, from England to Scotland, and sent an air rifle the other direction, with no issues. Both declared as such with the Royal Mail 48 hr service, which is the only way to send them.
  6. I’ve literally never heard of that. Is that common across manufacturers? I have no use or need for a 410, but…
  7. In answer to a couple of queries- manual safety but has the piece of metal bar included for a gunsmith to convert to auto (easy job I’m told). I assumed it was right handed but the stock looks quite straight? I’m no expert on that though.
  8. Should add - more than happy to meet any potential buyer at braidwood/Cluny to view/try.
  9. Bada-bump for the weekend.
  10. In response to a couple of queries - LOP is 15.25 inches just now. I’d estimate 14.75 inches with the slim pad. It is steel proofed.
  11. Sporter12B30” barrelsExcellent condition Original case, chokes and accessories.Half and quarter chokes in the gun and two full in case.ZW age code = 2014 gunVery little use, still stiff to open. This was my father in law’s gun. Used sparingly, probably less than once a month on a short round of clays. Very well looked after.Currently has one stock extension in as I was sorely tempted to keep it! Easily removed. £1150 ovnoCollection Dalkeith just outside Edinburgh, or can rfd at cost.Any questions please ask.
  12. Cluny Clays and Bisley at Braidwood both allow a non cert holder to shoot while supervised by a certificate holder.
  13. I’ve had a 2 litre Amarok for past 3 years. 62 plate. Inside it’s more car than truck, gets a thumbs up from Mrs Hod - Used also as a family car (5 of us) and taken on regular trips up north, absolutely piled with luggage, dogs, bikes, etc etc. My daily commute is about 5 miles each way. Gets 30mpg average. Best I got was a 70 mile round trip Edinburgh to the borders, 35mpg. BFG a/t tyres. Big price jump from 2 litre to the V6 model, and they’ve all gone up over lockdown unfortunately.
  14. Still available. Travelling the length of scotland to Inverness this weekend if meeting outside of the Edinburgh area would assist anyone.
  15. I would find this whole thread surprising if you’d spent just a tenth of what you had. The additional issues identified are crazy. Full credit to you for giving them an extra opportunity to address the issue prior to you even doing any filming.
  16. Also, I’m travelling up to Inverness area from Edinburgh in a couple of weeks, if that assists or tempts anyone…
  17. Should add I’m happy to meet at Cluny/Braidwood to view/try the gun.
  18. Browning 525. 12 bore Sporter, 30” barrels ‘ZV’ serial number = 2015 gun Steel proofed Adjustable comb Adjustable trigger Trap fore end Currently has one Browning stock extension fitted, easily removed Multi choked Included are 3 x Briley flush Invector Plus chokes - Light mod x 2 (3/8 choke) Improved mod (three quarter choke) Additional set of 5 Browning Midas extended chokes available separately for extra £100. All round good condition. When tilted in the light some light scratches are seen, I’ve tried to capture that in photos. Very small chip in the adjustable comb, again I’ve tried to show this as best I can in photos. But…. I’m being picky, see photos. Collection from Dalkeith, just outside Edinburgh or will rfd at cost. Any questions please ask. £1100 ovno.
  19. £700 is pushing into used beretta/browning territory, particularly private sellers. There might not be a guarantee etc but there’s far less to go wrong with a shotgun than a car. Then you’re at the new Turkish vs used browning/beretta debate… I went Turkish a few years back. Now have a 525. For the cost of depreciation selling my Turkish gun, I could just have bought the 525. In retrospect I should just have kept it anyway!
  20. I was quite picky with what I burned when we first got ours. Now, not so much. This is where I’m at.

    Multi fuel stove.

Grew up with one and finally got one put in about 5 years ago. Don’t need it (have central heating in a house built circa 1970) but we love it. You have to be fairly committed to the ‘faff’ although you can just buy and have wood etc delivered (and stacked for you!) though I try to avoid it. Sciatica for 6 months meant I’ve had to go to the dark side and cough up of late. Coal last ages. Owing to Mrs Hod liking heat at all times of the year, I’m also frequently sweating in shorts and T shirt in my living room…
  22. I’m a fair unit, 6’2”, 17 stone. Never really had any issues with recoil until a few weeks ago when I had a clay lesson. Probably shot 130 12G carts in less than an hour, the last five minutes I was properly struggling 😀.

    Gunwatch

    Was wondering the same thing.

    Browning Choke Key

That’s certainly the case for Invector plus chokes.
