  1. Got the photo ... have sent you a few questions back.
  2. Any warranty or manufacturers guarantee with it ? Do you still have the receipt ?
  3. Mine are finger tight (on a Beretta 682) every now and then I lift the barrels and nip them up, occasionally (rarely) they are loose, just by an 1/8 turn and I still miss
  4. Can you send me some pics ? Cheers
  5. Hi Would £25 do you ? PM me if yes and i'll send you my address and payment. -- Miki
  6. Beacuse the BASC support this action .... they want the GP's intervention and are not opposed to a charge.
  7. Pulleys are the answer. With three pulleys you can reduce the amount of effort to pull a weight by 2/3rd. These are handy <eBay snatch block> you could use pretty much anything to 'pull' your logs out. One of these <winch link> would be enhanced considerably. What rope do you plan on using ?
  8. Yes please ..... I have sent you an offer via pm
  9. If you can manage some pictures. I'd be interested in seeing them. Whereabouts in the Midland are you ?
  10. The form the doctors fill in is NOT a medical review or examination. It asks them the mark the patients records (showing that he has a firearm/shotgun certificate). I can't find the form at the moment but it's not a medical assement ...
  11. David. The program didn't really supply any clear facts, even in this thread, after watching the programme, there is confusion and missunderstanding. Here in Scotland, if you don't pay for the Doctors to complete the form (it's not a medical report BTW) then PS will not progress your licence or renewal. Linc Police stated that they would adopt the Scottish method and if this is true - what are you going to do about it ? So far, up here in Scotland, you have done f*k all !
  12. The bigger the hole the more the expanding gasses will 'leak' past the round and the louder it will be. Smaller is better. The hole needs to have some clearance though, so that the bullet doesn't hit the moderator body on the way through ... Typically most manufacturers offer a 0.6mm radial clearance so the .243 round (@ 6.2mm) will have a 7.4mm bore. The .223 bullet is smaller (@ 5.7mm) so will pass through a .243 moderators bore no problem. Will it be louder ... ? The .223 will not be as loud as the .243 when they are fired through the same moderator, as they have less of a bang to start with. A 223 fired through a 6.5mm bore will be quieter than a 223 fired through a 7.5mm bore Can you add a 12 baffle stack ? ..... yes, as long as it is aligned with the bore of the barrel.. the more baffles/expansion chambers the better
  13. Hopefully not - we are being ripped enough here in the UK for ammo, however I fear you might be right
  14. I have a size 56 with is similar to most other 2XL (48" chest) ... linky

    Sako .223

If I had a spare slot i'd have your .222 in a heartbeat ..... how much are you looking for ?
  16. I used to jump out of planes with him ....
  17. As has been said the supersonic 'crack' of the round can't be suppressed but you can dampen the sound created by the sudden expansion of gasses by using a moderator, in this case the bigger the better. I like the DPT, over barrel (reflex) versions. It's light and can be easily upgraded by adding more baffles which will reduce the 'boom'. It boils down to what you like the look, the weight and the price of as all of the moderators available will do the job. 1150 fps is the speed of sound, above that you'll create a noise, the bigger the projectile the louder the noise, the further away you are the lower the frequency you'll hear. I made the mistake of zeroing in a bowl shaped field with the main house less than 500yds away and (i was told later) upset the dogs, going to the other side of a copse away the main house and they didn't hear anything despite being a lot closer...
  18. Just a quick update on this - thanks to those who responded. I bought a couple and sent one back (it was 'shot out') and have now bought some from Simpsons who are selling brand new ones for £35 in P&P. If anyone does find a full or extra-full they'd be interested in selling at the right money - i'm still interested. Thanks
  19. Haha - Now then, you two "double ewes" you know I didn't mean that.
  20. Not my intention, (apologies if it was taken that way), although a smattering of cynisism is a distinct possibility .... My RFD (Ed in Edinburgh) doesn't charge RFD fees for receiving at all and often will include booking them in and out as part of the sale/service he provides, after all it's what he is, an RFD, an RFD who looks after his customers. There is no cost involved so why take money ... isn't that being exploitative ?
