  1. Would that have fitted my Browning B325 G5.
  2. When all of the hugging etc has died down the unionists aren't going to accept this supposed deal. On the face of it it is everything to all men BUT there are too manhandled and strings that are still involved with the EU. There is miles to many random rules that they will still control. If the EU want a goods control why has it never been thought of to establish controls inside of Eire. You don't have continental border controls in Dover for stuff coming here.
  3. Where oh where is Rab C Nessbit going to get his booze and flag money if they do go Indy.? Didn't some places in Scotland have to be helped big time because the people didn't even have shoes. Can't be that bad can it.? A cranky woman friend of mine, ( not wee jimmy) has emigrated to right up the top of Scotland. God knows why. Ever since she has moved up there it has rained, had gails, had lots of snow. Lots of ice all in all its been a bad decision in my opinion. It's a shame because she's a good sort and a very good shot. Just a lunatic. Had A lovely place down here. I don't expect that she'll get back down here again due to house and land prices. A one way conveyor. Shame we had good days shooting. I feel sorry for her husband.
  4. Sometimes... I don't know if is just random or on an item's value. You could be charged the vat on the item... but the sting in the tail is that you might get a letter from royal mail informing you that you owe them £X vat on the item... fair enough but they also charge £x for their surcharge to INFORM YOU that the vat is payable. I can't remember but I thought cheeky. Charging a fee to notify and then vat on that fee, +the original vat on the item. Ps I THINK that I POSSIBLY got charged £17 vat and £7 notification fee. AND I had to pay it BEFORE the item would be delivered.
  5. You should go back and read The reply that you have posted. The posters don't seem to hope to be achieving anything. It is a commonly held opinion of basic. Basic state that they protect and promote all aspects of shooting but its all smoke and mirrors. signing up for BASC Live, the weekly e-newsletter, to keep up to date on BASC's work protecting and promoting shooting might be informative but does didly squat out in the field. it is just a catalogue of window dressing. Plod do as they please and make it up as they go along and Kwis must consult you as to what to do next . runs rings around you. As it stands shooting is really on the end of a line. Guns have virtually no second hand value. Dealers won't buy anything in and at a recent firearms auction there were about 5000 guns that had been sold and were all going for export. The whole mindset of the org is outmoded with reality. I feel that I have just wasted x minutes even reading this thread or replying. I've even considered deleting it. Just can't be bothered.
  6. A snipe was my first 12. A bit of a cheapy, BUT I shot really well with it and still have memories of superb shots that I pulled off with it.
  7. I've got a 28G, a 20g and a 12 that I have done that to. I don't make a habit of having spills but sometimes the machine or I get out of sync. The primer doesn't fall or I don't put a wad in or something and the whole lot goes Lulu. I have a hole in the front RH corner where the shot or powder can be herded to and then out into a collection pot. I use a thicker Artist paintbrush and it is easy to separate shot from powder. super machines WHEN you've got everything sorted and adjusted. Shot is just a pain all over the bench /floor and powder is too expensive to loose.
  8. I have MECs mounted on board like that but have tile batten fixed around the edges to contain any dropped lead or powder spills. I got fed up hoovering up shot.
  9. It's just another case of total incompetence by the police. The whole system is a shambles. On one hand you've got police officers committing abduction, rape and murder, to many jumping ship before they are pushed, to all sorts of serious misdemeanous from those that have come to light. Areas that are terrorised by crime and gangs and when the public ring up there is no action. I worked for a company that had an amount of expensive burglaries it they didn't even bother to come out. The company was given a crime number over the phone and told to get in touch with the Insurers. One time a single officer came about 3 days after the event. Had a wander throughout the workshop and asked if we'd checked that the doors were shut !?!? What else could we expect. It's not one force it's all of them. My thought from day one was a Reggie Perrin. Thought through for some time and all set up. Bank a/c, identity, the works and or a friend or new partner who is helping / providing for. She might not be all that far away. But how many disapear and no one really ever hears about them.
  10. This is a part of gun sales. How many guns on here even get a comment. ? How many people on here advertise guns at silly inflated values.? Gunshops won't entertain buying in second hand guns and recently, ( in the last year) i bought a job lot of 2 x single barrel 12g shotguns at auction for £13. They were both in very good condition. There were I estimate in the region of 5 thousand weapons of all sorts all sold and bound for export. At that rate we'll be down to a toy cap pistol in a few years.
  11. It's a long time ago that I was in a dealer's and was shown the gun so it was just a quick view of it, so I'm not certain of the details. Vague memory of it is that the police riot cartridges were a sort of 2 size stepped body brass cartridge with a partial crimped tapered closure. There was a sort of circular trench around the primer pocket area so the primer area looked like a sand castle. In the face there was a standing post that fitted into the trench. This post stopped the action closing with ordinary flat base shotgun cartridges along with the reduction of the chamber size. I think that the shot size was #4 but I might be imagining all of this.
  12. I saw one once where the guns had a special base that only allowed a special cartridge to be chambered. The guns were only issued to the prision wanders with a couple of these special cartridges so that if the gun was captured by rioting prisioners the prisioners would only have access to on or two cartridges because ordinary 12 gauge cartridges wouldn't fire. I can't remember what the base of the cartridges was like but I think that there was a ring or pin that had to be aligned so that the breech would close.
  13. Does this use ordinary 12 cartridges or does it shoot the special riot cartridge.
  14. BUMP. Holy molie. Any young lad would be proud to be out in the field with this, as would King Charles himself would be proud to be out on a high drive at Sandringham with such a weapon. a finer bit of floor board would be hard to find anywhere.
  15. I read that the police have failed to ask Mercedes to track her cars keys that can't be found, so the husband has been in touch with Mercedes to see if it can be done. Even other police detectives are questioning the way in which the investigation has bèn run. What with all the rack of scandals concerning police conduct and operation it won't be long before the whole service will have to have a large scale overhaul to understand what is going on.
  16. Well, there is a program on the at the moment. .9 to..10 ish on Fri 10th. Pretty in depth analysis of all the nown facts. Apparently the police were invited to be part of the program. .. BUT they have declined. ?????? Why.? Do they think that they are above the public.? As an aside though there are in the region of 3 to 4 hundred thousand people who are reported missing IN THIS COUNTRY every year. !!!!
  17. When the woman police officer stated that it was their considered opinion that she had fallen in the river and drowned. Someone should have challenged her as to what evidence had this statement been based. ? The divers said that there was very little water flow in the river and bodies were almost allways found within 10 mtrs of where they had gone in and in their considered opinion based on many years of searching for bodies was that she ain't in the river. It seem as if the alien abduction or Reggie perrin theories are more considered. There are mistakes and then there is total incompetence and it falls into the later.
  18. Locally to me a young bloke decided to comit suicide. It was thought in a local bit of forestry woodland. Plod went up there mob handed about 4 transit loads. They all amassed and had the pep talk. 5hey split into about 4 groups and did a sesrch of the woods. eventually it was declared by a senior officer that the woods had been removed as an area of interest. The bloke brother didn't accept this and worked out a search pattern. He walked the woods and found the body of his brother reasonably quickly. So much for the comprehensive police search. Usless/ not fit for purpose.
  19. According to this is the answer. https://www.webmd.com/men/news/20020723/why-we-catch-colds-during-flights
  20. you can't even give em away. Have a Barnes Wallace. It must be the shortage of... 22 bore ammunition 😆😊
  21. Last nighr on raduo 4 news There was a rescuer who said that because of the dire state of the Turkish economy in recent years that the lack of clerk of works inspections and application of building regs a lot of shortcuts had been taken and stuff just thrown up which is why whole streets had collapsed. It was all of the modern buildings that had incured structural failures. Down to government policy and lack of supervision. Cowboy get quick builders. The finger pointing has yet to come. He said that they knew the risks but didn't uiĺd into the structures the design and anti shake ability because of the money it cast to do it. A bit like Grenfell towers.and lots of other tower blocks, They knew the risks but built them anyway. We haven't dealt with that problem and the occupants of those fire candles are living with the probable life threatening risks, the costs and the fact that their flats can't be sold because of the problems. Lots of enquiries but no action.
  22. From this experiment we find that I am thick and kwis is probably hacked off..... But he still runs rings around basic.
  23. perhaps I am thick but surely this is the wrong way round.... I went to the link and it appeared that IF I HAD VOTED it WOULD HAVE BEEN TO PETITION the bbc to keep the clown and his mates and the program going by drawing funds from elsewhere in the bbc !! shouldn't the vote had gone to boot him out.?
  24. It's strange how GG is pilloried but he is only one. The visable part of an iceberg of various weirdos. People like Saville and GG cross a divide from admiring to actually handling. On a foreign holiday I met up with a serving female prision officer and she told me that ( at that time) Maidstone gaol had a wing full of weirdos in "solitary confinement". But they weren't in solitary confinement as such. They were segregated from the other prisioners. She said that it was more of a school where minor offenders came out educated as to how to target, manipulate, assault and enjoy whatever took their fancy. They put themselves into positions of power, trust and access. Back in Savilles time the lads in pop groups did exactly the same. How many impressionable teen girls were willingly used back then using it as a badge of street cred... look at me I've had xyz. No one goes after these "pop stars " for exercising these underage girls.? There wouldn't be gaols big enough. Back then the attitudes were go on my son fill your boots. If it were now im sure that a lot mlre would be investigated like the footballer mendy in the news the other day.
  25. They must have worn the keyboard out. Why use one word when ten will do. The information contained in that document is possibly very interesting but how would anyone know. It's like the government enquiry results that take years to write and run to thousands and thousands of pages and cost millions to publish and just gather dust.
