  1. Why is that then.? Do you suffer from agoraphobia or other condition.? Having that sort of problem must be very difficult and unfulfilled.
  2. How true this is. Such a shame, you can't give guns away.
  3. It's great to hear of the places that people have or are going to. Some of them bring Memories flooding back. Like Nerja, Frigliana and Port Andrax. The wooden train journey from Palma up the mountains through the orange groves to Soler, quick wander around the town then on the wooden train again to a stop up in the mountains for a photo opportunity. Then travel through the countryside of fruit orchards and orange groves down to the small port town of Puerto Soller. A wander along the front to find a bus which goes the scenic route all around the mountain villages back to the train station in Palma. There is a bus that goes direct through tunnels in the mountains back to the bus station in Palma. But we weren't in any hurry so it was the scenic route for us. Lots and lots of mental pictures of a lovely holiday.
  4. what I meant was .. use the programs which come with the Mac. I loved XP but just didn't like later versions. Years ago I used one drive for picture storage. Apple have cloud storage. I had a msg from one drive advising me that I was getting near the limit and for £1.99p a month I could go up to 1Tb. When I did this it deleted between 40 >>> to 60 thousand photos. !!! some I have managed to recover but I will probably have to pay for a specialist recovery of the drive to see if they can be recovered I doubt it. A disaster.
  5. I went Imac about 5 years ago. Not a cough or blink or splutter. The main thing that I found difficult was that it was different to Windows..... but the same or similar. It's like coming home and everything has been moved somewhere else and you call it a tea pot and now your not sure if you're looking for a teapot or a liquid recepticle. If you've got an iPhone or an Iwatch they all link up so if you enter data on one it seamlessly transfers over to the others. The one bit of advice is if you go mac, don't try to use Windows programs because at some stage there will be a clash and it will be like riding a pushbike with rubber handlebars which will end in a massive gutser which you won't like. Ps. When I got it I thought... you've made a big mistake here. Take it back. But I persevered and soon got to drive it.
  6. Not ole kamikwasi. Isn't he the bloke who just loves a decent crash.
  7. Epostulated..... now thats a word that doesn't Surface on these pages Every day especially from someone who was gated and ejaculated from private school and ended up in a secondary modern school. 🤣🤣
  8. IF I were to emigrate to somewhere like this for shooting ,, i did manage to find and get a round of sporting clays in out on Crete at the shooting ground near Chania. Lovely kind blokes and a fantastic facility like Bisley. I always ask at the hotels if there is any shooting locally. Mostly they have no knowledge of shooting at all. When I was driving about looking for the one out in Crete a shopkeeper no more than 1/4 mile from the ground knew nothing of it. Out in Turkey they were horrified/ frightened...? Did I Want to kill someone..? BUT after I explained what shooting clays was, they were only too obliging and contacted the sports Council in Ankara to find shooting grounds but the nearest was a couple of hundred miles away. A baggage lad at the reception piped up and said that there were 2 gun shops in the nearby town of Manavgat. Following his map we manged to find the shops. One was archery and airguns but the other had shotguns and rifles. Some heavy stuff for deer and boar. You aren't out there long enough to find stuff out and I don't speak Turkish or German or Greek or Spanish. I wouldn't mind doing a bit of partridge shooting out there. Crete was a crazy place for shooting. The locals had shot ALL of the road signs to pieces and when we pulled up by a village church up in the mountains I nearly slipped up on one of a line of 9mm cases scattered along the kerb. Either a celebration or a shotgun wedding or both. I didn't notice any blood on the road. There were loads of goat / deer skulls displayed by the roads up in the mountains. cyprus is supposed to be good for shooting but like everywhere it's not easy to find. but anyone coming from abroad to the uk on holiday wouldn't just walk onto a shoot.
  9. Apparently I am deprived by going to a school that went to Dover Castle, Canterbury cathedral, Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch railway, London zoo and Bodiam Castle. Strange that we never got to go to the abattoir. Still I did get to visit one as part of my job during the foot and mouth crisis. I think that if all kids were taken to an abattoir no one would eat any meat at all. The reason being that I can drop animals on the spot but the abattoir was one step down from Auschwitz. To see a load of Lambs unloaded into a race waiting their turn. The door opened and five were herded in to the processes. The look on the faces of next ones. They didn't know what was going to happen but,, they knew fear. I thought primary school children. The little loves. Murder comes to mind. Not controlling agricultural pests
  10. Where is that on Tenerife, whch Hotel .? What do you recon on it.?
  11. Because here there is one nice, nice day a year. Out there there is one bad day a year and you don't have to coat yourself in midges spray. AND it's cheaper out there than holidaying here. A Spanish girl who came here on the shoot said it was nice here BUT it was cold when it was hot.! I love the sun and the heat. Mother in law used to melt as soon as the sun came out and moaned about how she couldn't cope withi t, But moaned all of TIME the rest of the year about drafts. It was her glands 😅
  12. Yeah, that's more like it. I definitely have no interest in holidaying in the UK. I have no interest in mooching around in the rain/drizzle, fighting off mosquitoes and midges. AND paying more here for the privilege than going to Spain, Greece or Turkey. Tenerife is like England on a nice summers day. 2 without the Drizzle, mossies and midges.
  13. Proverb..... if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. It it is OK I'll have some primers and powder and fibre wads, etc etc because no one has any.
  14. This is the same as a thread that I initiated on here recently. I enquired about load data for 20G heavies for standing forward on Fox drives. Apart from the cost, there is the availability. I haven't found any shops that actually have any available. They might be listed but since the wildfowl lead ban no one buys them. Hence the load data enquiry. For the small amount that I am likely to use, I'll set up the MEC to manufacturer a few.
  15. Quite possibly. I did read that sales in the middle east had fallen through the floor. Still we would probably do the same if we saw countries similar to ours being carpet bombed. I wonder where the burger sales have migrated to.? Buřger King.? Ps. I think that the 4% share fall worries them more than a few less burger sales.
  16. Apparently McDonald's sales have been hit all over the world and the shares have dropped 4% by the ( younger customers) boycott over McDonald's perceived support of Israel and their conduct in the Gazza conflict. I quite like McDonald's strawberry milkshake BUT I don't go in and buy enough to offset the Boycot. I suppose it's the ultimate effect of market forces.
  17. No one is immune to this black shadow. I wish him the best. He has waited loyaly for his turn and hasn't been on the throne long. At least he has his wife and family around him. LONG LIVE THE KING.

    Plant id

There is a FREE download called... SEEK,,, on GOOGLE PLAY. you take a picture of the plant/ flower and it informs you about the plant. I have it o n my phone and have used several times. when I get home I can use the information to reference a plant book
  19. They may have offerings but we haven't found anyone who stocks 20gauge large shot cartridges . No one would buy enough to make it worthwhile for shops to stock them. If you bought a couple of boxes you'd probably still have most of them in 5 years time. How many foxes are you going to shoot a year.? Unless your out EVERY night lamping out the back of a hilux over a big acreage. Before the wildfowl ban you could get them but Not now.
  20. I don't know anyone that stocks anything like this on the shelf because apart from fox shooting there is no market since the wildfowl lead ban. The handful that would be used for fox shooting isn't a reason that any gun shop would stock these.
  21. They'd be a good load if you were standing forward on a fox drive. Since the ban no one makes anything like this. How many have you got.?
  22. Well I don't know the validity of the numbers being produced. Recently there were about 5000 guns sold at the holts auction, a lot of them at silly give away prices. I was told that the majority were exported to the states. A gunshop had a rack of what looked like new guns but the owner of the shop said that new guns sold a bit but that there was no market at all for S/H even though they were like brand new. When you look on here at guns for sale there are an about of views but very few even get a question let alone a bid or sale. Another thing is the new prices. I have an AyA #2 rounded action and I believe that there is an order period of nearly two years and the current price is in the region of £12000. This is silly money and I wonder how many of these they sell. all new guns are a lot of money in a time of financial squeeze.

  24. This is a serious tech question.  I notice that you have the 600 jr for sale and that you state that it does 70 mm AND that you can do 67mm cases also.  I have 3 Mec reloaders and I would like you to advise me how to reload different length cases on the same machine..  Surely it's not just a case of putting in the different cases and loading them up without a conversion kit.  The wadding column would have to be adjusted by 3mm and also the position of the case would have to be altered somehow because the crimp position would be 3mm lower than that of the crimp head when fully down resulting in a soft fold rather than complete.  If this is possible please advise me because I have a load of 67.5 cases.  Ps. I have once or twice had a 67mm case in the mix and they don't crimp any sense.  either the crimp isn't right or the case distorts by the case crumpling and twisting. Does this reloader come with a conversion kit.?  Thanks John

of course they will be different      you split or sort out the cases into varouis lengths   and  set the machine to do 70 mm    then set it to do 67.5 mm        you dont expect  to put in a 70 mm   and do it good then put in a 67.5 mm  and do the same

and of course you will have to put a different  wad in to get the collum   height     if your useing fibre wads put one in thats 3 mm shorter  or a different plastic wad

the machine will still do both 70  and 67.5 mm     just have to set it up       to do it       its only a 5 min job to set final crimp .. if you have 3 mec reloaders   set 1 machine up to do 70 mm cases   set another to do 67 .5 mm  cases  and the other to do what ever you want

  25. IF you are going to shoot that much lead apply for more storage capacity. Dont get yourself into a situation like this. Or dont get involved. I don't drive a racing car because I can't afford to. SIMPLE. The othe side is the cost of shooting quantities of cartridges. They aint cheap now.
