I'm English, I can trace my ancestry back to the 1500s from the Birmingham area and the 1700s from the Suffolk area but my name originates from an area in France and back to William The conqueror. I was born about 5miles away and have worked in the vicinity for most of my working life. The family have all been planted in the south east. So I'm pretty sure that qualifies me as being English. Although I've been to lots of different countries abroad and have like being there, I am English. Even years ago when I had to apply for passports or certs etc I didn't put British. I put English. As for those who say that the country is going to the dogs should look back into history. People were absolutely dirt poor and lived on not a lot, children were malnourished and the general population were illiterate. The things that we take for granted were unthought about not that many years ago. when I was a kid there was ice on the inside of the windows like ferns. And the other day there was some woman who was moaning about the fact that she couldn't afford to run her clothes dryer.!! And that was back in the hot period. Heavens forbid.! The country is going to the dogs.

favorite powders for 24 grm 20 bore/gauge
Minky replied to Minky's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Nahh I'm writing daft. I intended 14 Grains not grams. They shoot very well with a clean burn but I want to reload a new batch and I've got enough powder to do another batch BUT I don't think that it is the most efficient use of the powder. I've got LOTS of different ones and wondered what other reloaders used and found to be a good combination. I don't have Either the csb3 or 5 though. looking at the Alliant reload data is very confusing because on one hand the components that they list are not readily available here and the people on shotgun world say that the load of 14 gn of green dot has been discontinued by Alliant because it was too hot with over salami pressures and splitting insert tubes. yet the online Alliant loadings are way way higher on the 7/8 load. they are sort of up around 17 gn so work that lot out along with all of the different hulls. Is there a straight forward list of tables for hulls such as Cheddite, Fiocchl etc. or which are compatible types. I have used Alliants contact us page but no response. so any advice is welcome and will be considered. -
As stated below he's only having the two corgi's. Apparently his ex Fergie who still lives with him used to team up with the Queen every morning even after the divorce to have chats about hounds and the wind etc and walk in Winsor park. This . But there has been nothing on the Cocker spaniel that the queen won a gundog trial with. I wish to offer an abandoned spaniel the comforts of my home and the odd best quality bacon sandwich Etc. 😍😊 apparently it is with it's trainer. But I wondered if the lovely Kate would add it to her pack.

OK. Not much response on that one So ..the Queen's remaining dog nicknamed Lissy - real name: Wolferton Drama - the cocker spaniel currently lives with her trainer Ian Openshaw. It is not known whether she will remain with him or will be moved to a different home. So is Kate likely to add this one to her pack.

Macron just walked in with his wife through the crowds. (No one would know who he was ). The king & queen of Spain came in on a coach . Joe Biden went round the back in his Beast mobile to the tradesmans entrance. Perhaps he went round there to see where the bbq was being set up and get his order for a triple whopper in early.

After the service where did all of the heads of state and dignataries go.? What did they do.? A. Back to Buck house for a wake. B. Down the dog & duck for a swift half or C. was it a case of ,..well you've shown your faces on TV, now find your way up the road sonny.? ..I've looked on tinternet and there's no mention of them or anything.

That's a pretty little gun. I've got a 6 EC in 12 g 26 inch barrels with a narrow Churchill rib. Bought it in 1973. Imported by Parker Hale. No doubt you'll regret selling it.

That's absolutely brilliant. what a marvellously generous offer. How the clan came together to rehome a lost soul. a bit like a dog whose owner had died. This thread shows how things have so massively changed in this country. Back then boys dreamed of having a shotgun and going out to bag a bunny or two. people only bought and had A, box of cartridges. Not slabs. you went out with 3 or 4 cartridges in your pocket. lads would start off with a ratty 410 and then on to a single 12 or a basic sbs 12, later when funds permitted a progression onto a better double. Guns were considered to be a working tool not a fashion accessory. now boys aren't interested in doing anything that involves... well anything. recently I was with a mate in a shop and there were two blokes in there that asked if the shop would buy in guns from their dad who was having to give up through health and age. The answer was a definite NO. the shop didn't even ask what the bloke had got. The shop showed a large rack of S/H guns that looked brand new. Can't give em away the shop said. People will buy new but won't look at second had..?? My first was a Wembley 410 bolt action... The DELUX model. it had a bit of checkering on the forehand and the hand. then a BSA Snipe. £10 from a mate at school. It was a bit cheap but I did shoot well with it and still have memories of a few stunning shots on pigeon. I then traded EVERYTHING in and a BIG chunk of savings to buy a new Laurona blne sbs. Then it was on to the holy grail... a double barrel sbs sidelock ejector. I still have that gun sitting in the cabinet/ room along with a LOT of guns that have come along over the years. no doubt a lot of them will go to a scrap pile because they have gone out of fashion. good high quality guns at that. a crying shame. That single 12 will give a good account of itself if the owner can shoot. it could be someones pride and joy.

favorite powders for 24 grm 20 bore/gauge
Minky replied to Minky's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
At the mo ive got some loaded up with - 14grams of A1. It isn't the most efficient load but it shoots well and burns clean. I could finish off the amount of powder that I have and make up another batch or change to another powder and use the powder on something that would suit its characteristics better. I have a lot of different powders available such as green dot, unique, clays, universal etc, etc. There are the company lists to follow but it's interesting to see what people load and experience. What I am looking for is a sort of traditional load which uses a small powder charge, burns efficiently, kills well and has a low recoil. Not really asking much. -
What's your favourite powder for 24grm 20bore load for lead /fibre

This reminds me of one that I once shot years ago. It was in a terrible condition. I did it a favour by shooting it. It was in an enormous flock and I shot the only one out of hundreds, and it was left for the flies. I can't remember all the things that looked wrong with it. It was so manky that I didn't even want to touch it

Nahh just Horders.

OK there are two angles to this.. Free speech and the inappropriate time and place. both are semi valid BUT. one thing that will have hit home is the fact that Andrew is a liability to the firm. Charles and others WILL have heard the heckling and he might be on the scene during the funeral etc. But The firm isn't totaly stupid. they'll give him sort innocuous job like cleaning out annes stables to keep him out of the way. He was trying to get a house on the Windsor estate for one of his daughters to be near Granny so that he could keep VISITING. but Charles and William headed that one off and William moved Kate and the kids in so that they could be near granny. all the game has now changed and Charles has the reins and he has already vowed to slim down the family. On the box tonight there were members of the public who were just holding up white sheets of paper as a mark of protest and apparently plod was stopping that. !! Personally I don't think that the bloke who heckled Andrew will get anything because they won't want that being made into an anti cause. The twerp has been taken out of circulation and its all yesterdays news.

Shame that everything is so far away up north. I don't think that anyone down south ever gets rid of anything.

You mean that your not using 42 gm #4s though super full choke fitted in a 32 in multichoke single trigger 10lb o/u. You do realize that if your not using the aforementioned weapon that you have absolutely no chance of hitting anything AND there is a high chance that the recoil will cause you to be set on your rear. 😁😆

What's the latest on this one.? Has the chippy been trashed. Is the woman currently unavailable or out of the country. Is she back frying tonight, although it is Monday. ? If I we're resident in one of the adjoining shops I'd be camped out there in case someone decided to torch her place and burn me out also. In some people the feelings run high.
-
😃 what about tar and feather.? Or hanging drawing and quartering. Any of these stills on the books.? In a lot of countries she would soon disappear. I expect that plod got her away to avoid a more serious situation developing. It may well be that further action may take place. BUT she's had her say and she continued on to be a no one. Mental issues no doubt.

There is the right to free speech that we hold precious in this country and although this person's behaviour is both stupid and disrespectful she has the right to make a complete fool of herself. On the other hand there is nothing to stop the local residents getting a Rota of locals to stand outside of this shop with placards alerting potential customers of her total disrespect for her majesty and the royal family. Let's hope that suppliers refuse to supply her and the business capsizes and disappears without trace along with her. Lots of mental issues out there.

What happened to please or thank you.?

It doesn't look good when the family are called to her side. Only the other day someone on here commented about would Lizz Truss be the last PM that would shake the Queens hand. I'm sure that everyone in this house wishes her the best and the family are in our thoughts.
-
What did people think of her speech outside no 10.? I don't really remember what she said. I wasn't really paying much attention to the speech. I found it difficult to concentrate on what she was saying.

You might have to digitally make your images smaller to fit on the forum. E.g. your picture might be 15 meg but you might be restricted to 5meg so the image has to be reduced. Try to upload and you'll get a message if the image size is too big. If too big go back and you should get options such as keep original size or make picture smaller. Play about until the pictures will upload.

yesterday I saw a clip of her constituency party officials backing her to the hilt. they were glowing in tribute to her rhino like skin and her comitment to get things done. a hard worker for the cause. Does she take a lengthy time,? Will Rees Mogg have his hand on her back steering her, And she can always refer to Cincinattus about the path forward. time will tell.
