Mungler
Ok, so I thought I would add a shooting seat onto the Xmas list. I want something like this: Ebay item 390118259426 But I don't want to spend £40 on it. Got any ideas? Cheers all. pegasus bridge
i have given up on lightweight seats -they dont last more than a couple of outings! and yes, i am well fed (well 16st), so given the choice of eating salads or carrying a heavy seat the heavy seat gets it
Lez325
Try one of ther bucket type seats from Bushwear- I have one they are very good :Les
Fatcatsplat
Spinning bucket seat if it's for hide shooting - Equal distribution of weight so you don't sink, nice cushion, so your farmer's don't start playing up and you can stick all your deeks and netting in it when lugging it around. Ive got one of these and they are very good, especially for the summer months when the ground is hard, picked mine up on a car-boot still in the packaging for a fiver (bargain) However for the winter months,i use and prefer a bucket type seat, wide bottom which doesnt sink into soft ground, and all your bits and pieces are kept dry inside, ive never bought one though,a mate of mine got me,believe it or not a Bearskin bucket, used by soldiers on public duties, just the right size, very solidly made and perfect for the job BB
ianltz
for a bucket seat go to ur local home brew shop and buy a big fermenting bucket, mine was about £7 and then just drop a cushion on top, cheap and cheerful but sturdy and just the right height to stop the thighs gettin stiff
Imperfection
Why not buy a cheap metal framed deckchair with a dark coloured fabric and spray the frame green or black.Because the legs are a loop-it shouldnt sink in wet soil (unless you're a heavyweight!).I've seen them for around £5 and spray paint isnt much. Paladin
I've got a large fermenting/bucket, about five gallon out of a skip, that just fits inside my kit bag, put some old foam in first, all the deeks and scrim and netting and billhook all go in the bucket for transporting. When you are where you want to be just empty the bucket turn up the sides of the kit bag, turn it over and sit on it Spend your money on something better
Mungler
Alright, I should have been more specific - no bucket seats! It would be something for driven days and something which could be packed and taken on an aeroplane.

Whitebridges
Got a Gripseat for my birthday. Very good seat with a magnetic base for picking up shells. They're not cheap at about 50 notes. For comfort I use a Zebco fishing chair with a nice back support. Best thing is a bar stool, but a pain to carry to the hide. If I can't drive up this would be my preference every time. Edited November 29, 2009 by Whitebridges

malkiserow
I would have thought you could sit on/use a Frotnum and Mason picnic hamper, a bit uncooth to actually sit on one but probably OK for an Essex boy .......... and ...... saves your embarasment of using Stavros Dial-a-Pizza when your out in the field
